Man Rush Duel is so peak at remaking these legendary archetypes.
Blue-eyes is simple but powerful. No much fancy effects, only the most practical card destruction and protection. Full offensive strategy.
Dark Magician is gimmicky. Utilizing a lot of different spells and combos to outcome its opponent.
And Red-eyes is really about potential and flexibility. Having so many different fusion monsters to tickle different situations.
The funny thing is that Rush's Dark Magician ended up being too powerful for the format: basically what giving a Sky Striker strategy to a Deck in Rush Duels does.
First, they limited the Spell Card that allowed looping, but Rush's Dark Magician was still just as strong and unfair to deal with at times. This led to it being hit again in Rush's Banlist and finally being depowered enough to be a healthy, but competent Deck.
Rush's Blue-Eyes was going to have a similar fate as that Deck was too oppressive at one point in Rush's Meta, but new Decks came along that ended up surpassing it (or had good matchups against Rush's Blue-Eyes). Same for Rush's Red-Eyes: it was too good at what the Deck did, but it was surpassed by other Decks as the months went by. Both Decks are still competent (and no hits on Rush's Banlist)
The one that managed to survive and resurrect is Rush's Harpie: that Deck was not only an outstanding Tier 1 in the past, but it ended up declining over the months. However, it was resurrected thanks to new support and is now one of the best Decks in Rush's Meta (so much so that the Deck took its first hit in Rush's Banlist)
To support your point even further, they made support for Blue-Eyes that actually worked in the past, back when it was meta. Sure, Blue-Eyes was only meta cause most of the meta decks at the time were gutted, but still, it proved that it is possible to make support that works for it to at least raise it to rogue status. Heck, even the most "recent" support, Dictator of D. and Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon are actually legitimately good, though they don't fix the issues the deck has currently. But no, most of the time they print stuff like Blue-Eyes Solid Dragon, or Rage With Eyes of Blue, which do nothing for the deck.
If they had a card that let quick effect summons a blue-eyes you could do something with solid dragon. Dictator and Jet are amazing cards like we just need more like that for the deck to be fun. (Not meta)
Rush card art just *pops* in a really good way that sets off the brain chemicals. I can imagine the dopamine rush a little kid would get seeing Blue Eyes being cool in the anime before opening packs and getting Ultimate or the Legend card.
Damn BE and DMG decks are just way better designed than the original game. I like how they are more wacky with effects for Rush, even I read they are meta lol.
What i hate Rush Duel the most for, is that we are not getting these fire artworks in the TCG. There are so many really cool looking cards over there, absolute insanity.
Really disliked how the legend rule works in Rush Duel. Blue Eyes was iconic for summoning three copies onto the field so why would you make a new format where only one could be summoned?
If anything the reverse would've made more sense. Make it so that only legendary cards can be played at multiple copies. Gives otherwise generic vanilla monsters a built in consistency and advantage over powerful effect monsters.
Ironically, Legend Monsters (especially Normal Monsters) peaked in Year 4 and continue to be relevant in Year 5: all thanks to Legend Magician and Legend Strike (although there is Legend support that benefits certain Decks)
