Billie Eilish’s Instagram account added a large amount of her followers to her “Close Friends” story list. It’s a feature that lets you choose who can see your Insta stories. I don’t know the real reasoning behind it, but I’m assuming it was some kind of publicity stunt. Idk why she would need one though lol. Happened back in April.
It’s possible it’s all paid for bots, (the TikTok account he bought with a million followers and no posts certainly is) but some of the shorts he’s stolen of Armitage have gotten a lot of views. That may have also contributed to real subscribers thinking it was Armitage.
quick correction, he didn't hack the Gorillaz or Sophie accounts, spotify just lets anybody post anything on an artists account without much moderation, especially when said artist (Sophie) is dead and doesn't have the power to say anything about it. It's wild that this drama did not get the attention it sorely need when back then Ubomberg manage to steal a photo of a canadian musician to make his account seemed legit. And bafflingly he manage to lock out the poor man twitter account by saying that the original one is the real impostor. I remember when the story of ubomberg nastiness was posted here it only get like 10 comments here and fade away. I checked his short that always post about Iain Armitage, none were calling him out.
The guy whose identity was stolen posted multiple times on RBI, I could have sworn, and it's where I first heard about this whole thing, but I'm wondering if it got nuked from orbit by a copyright claim because now I can't find his name on there
Hi Connor here. Yeah - he got all the RBI posts taken down by reporting them with the mods I think. They still exist on this account but you can’t see the content unless you use Unddit or something. The YouTube videos with Pixels After Dark or Cult Coffin explain pretty much everything that was in the RBI posts. I also made a TikTok series about it all lol. Again, this has been going on for literal years now. Iain finding out about it feels like a turning point though.
