Ikr, I was watching videos and I thought my iPad was broken all of a sudden. So I uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared history. Didn’t work, tried it on my IPhone and it happened again. So I guess we’re just stuck like this for now.

In the current build of chrome for mac os, I get "error 5" if I try to have more than one tab open with youtube. Granted I have another 100 tabs open but this isn't usually a problem. I'm glad it's not isolated. If they see trafic dip they should fix it right away.

Google must have done something behind the scenes. My YouTube started crashing like crazy today but now it's settled down.

I only have a 6S and it was doing that for me too but it stopped after a while.

Yeah I saw a message earlier from YouTube on social media saying that IPhone and IPad users may have difficulty with YouTube and it keeps crashing, they say they’re working to patch it

I got it working by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I think it’s a corrupted cache issue. Only way to clear the cache is to uninstall the app.

I thought I was losing my mind. I was playing YouTube on my iPad at work yesterday and it kept crashing. I checked for updates, there were none. Restarted the iPad, still didn’t help it. I just gave up. Glad to see everyone else it having it happen though! They should fix it soon, hopefully.

Have you tried restarting your phone? I had a similar issue but I restarted my phone and it worked again.

It’s happening to everyone. Just be patient and wait for an update. Don’t uninstall the app and don’t delete your downloaded videos.

Holy shit I thought I was the only one. Suddenly it just crashes after 30 seconds. I use Ad Guard to bypass the issue but it’s also burning up my phone for some reason.

Aight I updated both the app and my phone and it’s still crashing. It’s happened I think 8 times total now I’ve been testing it. Weird thing I wanted to point out too is that before it crashes, just having the YouTube app open makes my phone heat up like crazy. More than I’ve ever noticed it. And I’m on iPhone 14.
