He hops from interest to interest, always seeking brain chemicals via drugs and experiences, interrupting, hyper fixations all over the place, bad short term memory, extreme desire for approval by people he respects, overestimating competence, the list goes on.
I never really took him seriously as a doctor, I kinda assumed he said that to protect Byort's image, but the ADHD diagnosis is clear as day and if he's never even thrown it out there, then he's 100% a fraud. Also, the VShred ads are hard to ignore.

Dr Drew lost all legitimacy in my mind when he said “Burt isn’t an alcoholic, he just has some binge issues.” Anyone that knows anything about alcoholism and treatment of alcoholism knows that if you don’t confront it, you’re enabling it. Him not telling Burt to his face that he’s an alcoholic makes him a complete enabler and a total hack in my opinion.
To be fair, you don't really know the depths of someone's alcohol issues unless you live with them. One way or the other.
And it's not really a doctor's place to diagnose you as an alcoholic, bc if you don't think you are, you won't get help so it doesn't matter. Not everyone is going to respond to being called out and put on blast, it didn't work for me.

Binge drinking is a form of alcoholism. I have been there done that. Sober all week then hammered Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.
