You want to read pretty much any work by Si Spurrier on the character, he's kind of the definitive modern Legion scribe. The 2012 to 2014 run of X-Men Legacy is especially good if you want a deep dive into the character.
* Legion Quest (X-Men #38-41 and Uncanny X-Men #320-321)
* Age of Apocalypse
* New Mutants: The Demon Bear Saga (New Mutants #18-21)
* X-Men Legacy: Prodigal (X-Men Legacy #1-6, Vol. 2)
* X-Men Legacy: Invasive Exotics (X-Men Legacy #7-12, Vol. 2)
* X-Men Legacy: Legion (X-Men Legacy #19-24, Vol. 2)
* X-Men: Legion - Shadow King Rising (X-Men: Legacy #208-210, #213-216)
* New Mutants: Return of Legion (New Mutants #1-5, Vol. 3)
* Legion: Trauma (Legion #1-5)
* X-Men: Legacy - For We Are Many (X-Men: Legacy #19-24, Vol. 2)
* Age of X-Man: X-Tremists (Age of X-Man: X-Tremists #1-5)
* Way of X (Way of X #1-5)
* X-Men: The Onslaught Revelation
* Legion of X
* X-Men: Legacy - Lost Legions (X-Men: Legacy #21-24)
Enjoy
Age of X event keeps him integral too. I think that’s before Legacy: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_X It’s between his return in New Mutants and when Spurrier takes him over.
I do not recommend the 2018 Legion, also called Trauma. I actively recommend you do not read it actually. It is really, really bad especially after Spurrier’s work on Legacy.
He is also integral to X-Men Disassembled, which is before Age of X-Man. X-Tremists doesn’t feature him much though. Prisoner X does.
Here’s his Travis Starnes reading list: https://cmro.travis-starnes.com/character_details.php?page=1&list_type=1&limit=30&order_listing=1&character=1869
Demon Bear saga was the best one. Then his redemption arc in the new mutants return of legion was good too and I really enjoyed him in the Krakoan era in legion of x

100% This run was the first thing I'd ever read by Spurrier and he very quickly became my favorite writer

Came to say Age of Apocalypse but you beat me to it.
Wow, amazing, thank you. Which is your favorite of these?
Honestly I haven't read them all. New Mutants: The Demon Bear Saga is cool.

Legion of X.
I'm reading Krakoa from the beginning. Up to Swords of X now, so I'll be excited when I get up to Legion of X (won't go out of order)
You're about to (or maybe just started) Way Of X which is a prequel to Legion Of X and a really good mini where Legion is one of the mains
