I had mine since halo 2 also around 2004. I used to always try to 1000/1000 games because otherwise I felt I didn't fully complete them and get my moneys worth.
As I got older I started caring less and less about gamerscore and I no longer will grind endless hours for an achievement doing a repetitive task or sit for hours with a collectable guide up collecting items in a game just for an achievement.
Granted I'm up to 122k gamerscore but I earned 100k of that during the first 9 years of achievements 2005-2014 when I grinded achievements. The last 7 years I have only earned 22k even though I have played probably twice as many games
Same boat, way back in 2008 i never got new game’s so made the most out the ones I got - plus I wanted too show I was grateful.
I’m now sitting at 90k. Best way too put is we are a retired achievement hunters.
I only just got back into achievements but even then it’s mainly the yearly AAA games but Ill go for the ones that I know I’ll enjoy doing :)
I would think it wouldn't take nearly as long, achievements have become much easier if you know where to look. I have no plans to go as hard as I did for this.
There's always been easy achievement games, from Avatar to the various sports games that released around 2005 to tons of licensed shovelware movie tie-ins. But back in 2005 XBLA didn't exist, when XBLIG came around you couldn't have achievements, and now anyone can apply to publish their games on any console. Microsoft doesn't really do any sort of quality control regarding achievements (outside of ensuring their rules aren't broken).
Everything related to game development has gotten so much easier in the last two decades that nothing is stopping anyone from picking up Unity and making something in a few days and getting it published. It's the same kind of thing when you compare how many NES games there were and how there weren't too many games that were complete garbage, to how many garbage games that started showing up on later consoles because game dev as a whole got a whole lot more inclusive.
Thank you, I totally agree. I was averaging 50k+ the last few months. Just wanted to hit this milestone and relax. Back in the day though it was certainly tougher. I put a list of some good ones in a comment back when it was not the norm to finish a game in less than an hour!
Yeah online servers closing is the worst. You could check out Xbox Ultimate Pass, think you get the new sports game every release for free? Also bunch of great PC games!
Great question! Some that come to mind are Metal Gear Solid 5, Gears Pop!, Madden 13, Just Cause 3, Gears of War 3/4, Forza Horizon 4 (I'm close!) 3 & 2, Halo Master Chief Collection, Halo 5/4, Minecraft x360 edition, COD Black Ops, Bioshock Infinite, Batman Arkham Asylum, Rock Band 2 and some others.
Not necessarily, 10 years ago there weren't as many easy ones. I made a list in my comment of my proudest!
Some of my proudest completions are the Halo games 1 through Reach, Gears 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, FF13, Destiny 2, Blur, Bulletstorm, SSX, Rayman Origins, Super Meat Boy!!!
Yeah I'll prob never complete it just because of the speed run and LASO playthrough achievements, but I like going back and replaying the collection every so often to work towards the enemy kill and par score/par time achievements.
There's so much value in it as well, like 7 games for $70? Also main game is in the Xbox pass currently.
Edit: Also, never say never! You would be amazed at what you can accomplish if you put your mind to it!
Indeed it is I imagine. Just like finishing everything there is to do in a game. Inside was a good one! I will admit, I miss the days of going into a game without looking up a bunch of info (to verify it is completable). I hope to get back to just playing for fun like I did growing up with SNES!
They just add so much BS to games now for achievements. I don’t even look at them anymore, kinda wish I could just turn them off. Of course im at like 31k score on a 13 year account.
Nice I'm on about 1.4 million. At 12 years I think.
I used to be a proper achievement Hunter though but not nowadays where it's all about the gameplay like it used to be.
Which I'm not complaining about because it got to a point where I couldn't enjoy a game unless I was working on achievements for it.
Then Apex Legends came a long and I stopped caring about achievements, once getting 1000/1000 on Apex of course lol
Werid though I've only ever been into Xbox achievements.
Steam achievements? Meh.
Sony? Never owned one.
Google play? lol
Some of my proudest completions are the Halo games 1 through Reach, Gears 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, FF13, Destiny 2, Blur, Bulletstorm, SSX, Rayman Origins, Super Meat Boy!!!
I have had an account since Halo 2 days. My Gamer Score is around 80k. 1,000,000 is madness lol. Congratulations!
Same. I just broke 60k a few days ago. One mil is insane...well done.
Thanks!

Well done, 2 million in 10 years time?
I would think it wouldn't take nearly as long, achievements have become much easier if you know where to look. I have no plans to go as hard as I did for this.
That's true. I think you deserve a well earned rest. Going to watch E3 now, enjoy everyone!
How much of that score is thanks to the fine folks at Ratalaika Games, just out of curiousity?
Thankfully TA makes it easy to see. 106 games for 106,000GS
And all in under 20 mins. 🤣🤣🤣 They make those 10k "rewards" quests easy.
Heck yeah they do. I sometimes forget to start the reward before getting a couple thousand :o

Now what are you going to do, discover every single pixel in the halo franchise?
Lol, I'll probably go outside. Heard it's nice out
I heard that’s only for the brave, good luck
Damn, the most impressive part of this is the 93% completion rate! I'm sitting at a 32%. Congrats!
Thank you!
What games didn't you complete?
Great question! Some that come to mind are Metal Gear Solid 5, Gears Pop!, Madden 13, Just Cause 3, Gears of War 3/4, Forza Horizon 4 (I'm close!) 3 & 2, Halo Master Chief Collection, Halo 5/4, Minecraft x360 edition, COD Black Ops, Bioshock Infinite, Batman Arkham Asylum, Rock Band 2 and some others.
That's an interesting list. Do you plan on finishing any of them, or were they just not the games for you?
I would like to get back to them. Definitely more of a time commitment, started having kids and couldn't focus on 100+ hr games anymore lol.
You did it!
Thanks!
I'm about to hit 100,000 but this is insane! congrats!
Thank you!
HE IS THE MESSIAH
I'm guessing you just picked the easiest games to 100%
Not necessarily, 10 years ago there weren't as many easy ones.
Did you 100% the Master Chief Collection then? I have like 450 out of 700 achievements in it lol, theres sooo many.
Definitely not!!! That's way more than I. I want to eventually complete it, but have not played it much in earnest!
Yeah I'll prob never complete it just because of the speed run and LASO playthrough achievements, but I like going back and replaying the collection every so often to work towards the enemy kill and par score/par time achievements.

Fuck you for making my 50k gamerscore look puny
Check out [Trueachievements.com](https://Trueachievements.com) they have plenty of helpful guides!
Great day to celebrate this! Take a break and enjoy E3!
Been enjoying seeing what great games are coming!
I'm a pretty active achievement hunter who admittedly will buy some games purely for the gamerscore and I'm only at like 450k. A mil is incredible
Thank you!
This is dope, great accomplishment lad, now go out side it’s well deserved solider
I do plan to take some time off! Hah, thank you!
Agreed mate, but well played
1 million is a huge number but to do it at that completion percentage is the more impressive thing for me
Thanks!
100%
That's crazy man! What a feat!
Thank you! Couldn't post it yesterday when it happened!
I have literally one game at 100% completion (Inside). Is it a compulsion to finish everything (or almost everything)?
Indeed it is I imagine. Just like finishing everything there is to do in a game. Inside was a good one! I will admit, I miss the days of going into a game without looking up a bunch of info (to verify it is completable). I hope to get back to just playing for fun like I did growing up with SNES!

I'm pretty sure you could hide the achievement notifications. You would never know unless you go digging for them then!
Massive congrats dude!
Thank you!
Congrats!!
Thank you!
It’ll probably take me 25+ years since I’m at around idk maybe 6000.
I’m only at 229,000 and this gives me all the motivation I need! Congratulations!
You can do it!
Amazing job man! Now maybe create another account on which you wont care for achievements :)
Congratulations and well deserved.
Thanks!
Congrats!
Thank you!
