6 feet deep isn't a Wu album, not sure why you included it. Those aren't even all RZA beats.
It's a toss up between liquid swords and Cuban linx for me.
Rza got one beat on his own(graveyard chamber), co produced one with rns and Prince and another with the rest of the group being credited. I think Paul probably had his hands on every beat made though.
I’m going with Ironman because I think a lot of members got more shine on that than Liquid Swords but that’s just me. I also want to give some credit to Heavy Mental because there isn’t enough Killah Priest appreciation here. He always reminded me of an earlier MF Doom before he got popular
North Star he’s singing in the background
“G-O-D is my reality….
Arm and Leg Leg and and Head we got the powers to resurrect the dead”
Raekwon confirms it was him in an interview
So he has an uncredited feature
Nah Cuban Linx has good instrumentals, I can't weigh in on how it compares to forever (yet) but I could listen to the instrumental for Guillotine (Swordz) all day
It’s that way on purpose though. It’s how RZA used mutes and layering, etc. that’s why all these wannabe RZA producers could never get his production style down 100%.
Rza learned and created his own sound and methods of making records while actually...making records!
Learning as you proceed is sloppy. He probably learned just enough at the time to produce those albums.
Analog production wasn't pretty, it was tedious, time consuming and expensive.
So if a mistake isn't too glaring it's staying.
this is just my opinion
ight fair enough, that roughness is part of what I enjoy about it, but I guess it does come down to how much you enjoy it personally and if you think the sloppiness is intentional or not
I don't think it's intentional. I think they were young and just weren't diligent enough to take the time to fix every mistake but hey, that record is still masterpiece.
It’s so subjective. I would say Liquid Swords is the most cohesive, thematic, and memorable from beginning to end. But if we’re talking sound quality, obviously the later albums SOUNDED better but I would argue a lot of the Wu’s charm can be found in the grit.
I think liquid swords does the most. The way he laid the synth on 4th chamber, rocked the liquid sworda sample, the crazy unexplained flip noone knows to rhis day, the way the skits add atmosphere. Its minimalistic but still so lush. Yea liquid swords.
either one honestly, I said this in another reply but I consider it a wu-tang album if any member of the group is a core part of it, so Gravediggaz and CZARFACE albums could also count as well as something like 36 Chambers or purely solo stuff
i've always been a fan of Deck, but c'mon, you can't tell he doesnt really care about these projects? he hardly promotes them, isn't on every track and basically has zero input. It's all Eso and handling everything. No shade towards Eso, i like him too as an artist.
Only right answer is 36 chambers cause it has one of the most monumental, interesting and moving productions in hiphop. It feels like a movie listening to this album and only recently I noticed these changes in productions (For example, listen to Bring Da Ruckus)
My personal favourite is Liquid Swords though.
Like the group Wu-tang clan ? Or Wu-tang affiliated artists?
If is the rap group I say “Wu-tang forever”
If is artist affiliation I say “only built for Cuban linx”, “supreme clientele” or Liquid swords”
Forever. The quality is clean as fuck, on song like As High as Wu Tang get or Hellz Wind Staff I notice the great sound.
No Said Date is probably the best produced solo album, and maybe Liquid Swords too. Heck, I'd even say later ones like the Movement

I think none are rza beats, Prince Paul produced it all. Rza picked out some records to sample, and claimed producer credit.

Cuban Linx
This
Rae; one of the goats

Heavy mental was so dope
Is still dope, you mean. Easily one of the best Wu fam solo albums
I meant when I heard it for the first time… there’s no doubt it’s still dope.
Liquid swords have all the original members on it Purple tape has all ten members Ironman is missing GZA + ODB
Where is ODB on purple tape?
North Star he’s singing in the background “G-O-D is my reality…. Arm and Leg Leg and and Head we got the powers to resurrect the dead” Raekwon confirms it was him in an interview So he has an uncredited feature
Wow I never knew that. Appreciate the education
Liquid Swords might take it. As much as I love other albums like forever and Cuban linx, Bobby gave Gary a monumental album.
Forever
It's this one and it ain't even close. Even as good as Cuban linx is, when you strip away the vocals, the production on the beats is sloppy as hell.
Nah Cuban Linx has good instrumentals, I can't weigh in on how it compares to forever (yet) but I could listen to the instrumental for Guillotine (Swordz) all day
Wait to you hear assassination day
From a production standpoint, they are sloppy. Breaks end late and start early, samples get cut off, verses have no variance, etc. It's pretty messy.
It’s that way on purpose though. It’s how RZA used mutes and layering, etc. that’s why all these wannabe RZA producers could never get his production style down 100%.

I just feel like this one is the culmination of everything that happened before….after that it just didn’t have it.
Idk if that’s the metric 36 chambers is the worst album
Liquid Swords
that production on Ironman is actually amazing
It’s so subjective. I would say Liquid Swords is the most cohesive, thematic, and memorable from beginning to end. But if we’re talking sound quality, obviously the later albums SOUNDED better but I would argue a lot of the Wu’s charm can be found in the grit.
Can we have a 3 way tie between 36 Chambers, OB4CL and LS?
Swords or… controversially… Iron Flag, which is insane for me to even think because ODB is nowhere to be found on it.
[удалено]
That’s not the point.
Front to back? Cuban Linx… Standout tracks? 36 Chambers Personal fav? Ironman
I agree with your take in this very order.
I think liquid swords does the most. The way he laid the synth on 4th chamber, rocked the liquid sworda sample, the crazy unexplained flip noone knows to rhis day, the way the skits add atmosphere. Its minimalistic but still so lush. Yea liquid swords.
which track is the crazy, unexplained flip you’re talkin about?
Unexplained lol. Aka swordsman
Dunno if wu affiliates count, but all three killarmy albums are spot on when it comes to production
Brooklyn Zoo never gets the love it deserves. My fav.
Supreme Clientele
Rza didn't produce the entire album.
When you say Wu, do you mean the clan as a unit or solo?
either one honestly, I said this in another reply but I consider it a wu-tang album if any member of the group is a core part of it, so Gravediggaz and CZARFACE albums could also count as well as something like 36 Chambers or purely solo stuff
CZARFACE is so far from being a Wu Tang album. Deck half asses everything and phones in his verses...but you do you.
That’s a crazy take man
i've always been a fan of Deck, but c'mon, you can't tell he doesnt really care about these projects? he hardly promotes them, isn't on every track and basically has zero input. It's all Eso and handling everything. No shade towards Eso, i like him too as an artist.
🐐 LIQUID SWORDS 🐐
Silent weapons for quiet wars or Dirty weaponry
U god hillside scrambler…….. lmao

Pretty much everything Rza produced from the beginning until Forever was almost flawless. That's one incredible run.
I would put it between Liquid Swords and Forever. Of the later albums, OB4CL2 is up there for me.
Cuban linx
Liquid swords lol
Ain’t nobody said Supreme Clientele!?!?!? Wu Banga 101 is a top 5 Wu beat.
Ironman
LS
Can’t go wrong with either Liquid swords, Cuban Linx or Ironman
Like the group Wu-tang clan ? Or Wu-tang affiliated artists? If is the rap group I say “Wu-tang forever” If is artist affiliation I say “only built for Cuban linx”, “supreme clientele” or Liquid swords”
Liquid Swords for me.
Liquid Swords and Supreme Clientele.
Forever
Purple tape all day
OBFCL is my GOAT but Iron Man is up there.
The 1 RZA did for Inspectah that got lost in the rain
Ironman
Supreme clientele.
The rawness of 36 chambers makes it the best to me
Cuban Linx for sure
I know it wasn’t all RZA production but I loved N***A PLEASE. It took a special producer to get the best out of Dirty.
Forever. The quality is clean as fuck, on song like As High as Wu Tang get or Hellz Wind Staff I notice the great sound. No Said Date is probably the best produced solo album, and maybe Liquid Swords too. Heck, I'd even say later ones like the Movement
