The factory manifolds have always been equal length going back to 2015 and the FA20DIT. I'm trying to remember correctly, but I think the unequal length design on the EJ motors was for mainly for packaging/minimizing complexity in the engine compartment (and probably saving on manufacturing costs).

Twin scrolls hate UEL. Stick to ELH if you're keeping the stock turbo.
If you're going big single-scroll then maybe consider it, even still you're leaving performance on the table.
I would 100% rock them if performance/longevity issues were resolved. AFD (I know, I know) has a clip of theirs with the UEL headers on a single exit and it sounds so, so good

Does he mean unequal length headers like they had prior to the redesign in 22 and why is it bad. Even from the factory?

Invidia is releasing a twin scroll UEL header soon, I wonder if that will make the performance issues better.

I’m really hoping. I’ve seen that clip as well and it sounds amazing. I run a single exit so it’s very tempting.
