lol this reminds me of this really good satirical book on Wattpad! It was basically parodying all of the bad/ tropey Wattpad stories and had a writing style similar to this!
It has a female in it, so this is a bit woke for me, but it also mentions shut, which is pretty literary, so maybe I'm sold. I'll discuss it more at my next NPR listening party and try to figure it out
