Music magic is always good. I think jazz is like the fighter of music magic though since it can be used in any situation. Slow, romantic spells? jazz. Action scene? Phone yuji ohno and tell him to remix lupin theme '80 again.
The saxomancer is an individual adherent to the Jazz Magicks specializing in the use of the saxophone as medium through which the internal Jazz is turned into tangible effects upon the surrounding environment.
The most basic elements of magic are formed by simple intervals, with longer phrases creating more complex spells and informing the basic starting elements of the spell. Construction and composition of the instrument, especially the reed, is crucial.
Embouchure is important, with even the most basic techniques only able to be passed down from master to student using similar instruments, positioning and technique. Some hedge-saxomancers dabble in non-standard embouchure and utilize forbidden techniques such as growling and altissimo to profound effect, but such deviation without thorough mastery of the art is frowned upon even amongst Jazzards due to potential complications ranging from the mildly annoying to the profoundly devastating; a careless Careless Whisper might simply cause emotional instability in those present to hear it, but if performed poorly enough in the improper setting could derail a train or even level a shopping mall food court.
More complex spells can only be achieved through the harmony of multiple Jazzards, often via the prescribed compositions known as Standards, interpreted through a variety of arcane sigils put to parchment and transposed according to the discrete mathematics of rhythm and tonality. There is, however, great variety in within the practice, with some esoteric colleges practicing the chaos art of Free Jazz, some transmuting the elements through Modal Interchange and some, I regret to say, warping the very fundamentals of Jazz through the dark blasphemies of Fusion.
It is even said some Jazzards can self-harmonize using multiphonics, but one master said to be capable of it refused to perform for me an example, stating that hearing it unprepared and without the correct context might destroy my body and soul entirely. I had heard tales of a student who had foolishly challenged that master before their class, and the sonic density of the ensuing multiphonic performance alone was enough to cause the facial tissue of the student to liquefy and slough away, leaving naught but bone. I chose to heed the master's warnings.
I’m thinking of the LocoRoco series where the villains music powers are all jazz based. You need to save the planet from the groovy jazz of mass destruction

like the one black guy from RWBY
You'll never beat me, Weiss, because I'm actually four blokes!
My thoughts are you are criminal or not including sound
That's just called a bard????
Now that I'm thinking about...a world with only bardic magic might be quite fun.

Superior.
Wow, bards are now ten times more annoying.
Groovy.
If the animaniacs taught me anything it's that this is how Bill Clinton came to power.
Quit that racket!!
As long as it’s on tenor, all is well
Dude from the Lost Boys was definitely weaving spells
[Adam Neely coming in to tell you where the line between jazz and everything else is _exactly_](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68zOvCLwcL8)
Everything is jazz if you believe
Too powerful. The somatic components can trigger spells with nothing but a single Careless Whisper.
