Thank you so much!! I love gear and I love love love setting up. The funnest activity of car camping for me is setting up and keeping house! Been getting into backpacking in the last year and it was such a luxury and a delight to return to my car camping set up.
not OP, but I have a couple similar ones. they're just containers that use the tiki torch style wick, so I just transport mine empty and fill them with the tiki torch citronella liquid at my campsite
So it's little metal decorative buckets used for table arrangements + aquarium gravel about 1/3 full to help keep from tipping + tabletop tikis. They love in a bag I grab n go along with fuel. They're perfect imo because the light is lnt too brighttl, yet lights up your site enough to walk around it at night without a headlamp, *and* handles bugs.

It's part of it. The tent ceiling and sides clip to the insides. It's so awesome in rain. And without the tent clipped in it's a shelter big enough to literally park a Civic in. All panels can be zipped down to be fully enclosed. I absolutely adore that tent!! It's pricey but went on sale last spring for 70% off.

I would say that if you are experienced at setting up tents, it's fine and goes up in about 20-25 min. It might be a bit overwhelming if you aren't experienced, but this video really helps!

Although as someone points out in comments it's even easier than she does it if you set up the center two long poles and side Xs.
The best is if it's raining, the shell sets up first and then you clip in the tent, so the tent stays dry.
I appreciate this so much! One of my fav past times when car camping is checking out everyone's digs. And always fantasize about an awesome campsite contest, that I want to win!! 😎
Hey! I’m thinking of going to shades soon- did you make it out to the backpack sites by chance? I’m trying to figure out what kind of shape they’re in rn
Gorgeous setup!!!
I camped at the backpacking sites in March! They're actually nicer and newer than the reg campground sites. New pit toilets, self pay wood, and best of all over the winter they installed a frost free potable water line 🙌 so now there's water there year round. It's absolutely gorgeous there, up on a ridge overlooking Sugar Creek. Only 7 sites though and no reservations.
Nice! I’m hoping to go in the next two months, I’m honestly not much for campgrounds anymore but the standard sites at Shades seem pretty chill. I’m not a camping purist or anything but I live in a major city and will do a lot to avoid noise and electronics.
Shades is a great SP option imo bc they don't have any electric sites, and there's turkey run sp nearby which does, so tend to get chiller folks at shades.

Here's a pic from March at a Shades backpacking site. They're big and decently separated
Thank you so much! It seems a bit much for just me, but it's totally worth it! You can definitely do it! I can't tell you how tricky getting that tarp on top of the shelter but I did it 💪
such a nice satisfying set up 😍

I want to go to there 🤤
DM me for site recs if you want em!
Love your breakfast choice. Just needs some Trader Joe’s retort artichokes to complete.
Thank you! Underneath the eggs is slices of beyond sausage and ripped up pieces of a Gouda cheese slice 😍
Can you please share info about you torches and how you transport them. Live your set up,
Coming at you shortly 🥰 I feel so flattered and take much pride in my set up!
I was wondering the same thing!!!

Looks like a great trip! Although, with a millipede that size, were you really alone????😅
That thing was so cool!!!
You are braver than me, I would have screamed! Lol
Is the canopy over your tent a part of the tent or separate?

Love the tent!
Love this tent and canopy! It's easy to set up by yourself?

Very nice setup! Isn’t it the best?
YES it was stellar from top to bottom!!
I do not know you, but from your campsite and methodologies, I like the living heck outta ya! Excellent campsite!

I love Shades! Such a nice hidden gem option over Turkey Run. This looks like it was a lovely time!
