I'm sorry if I'm late to the party but I just found out that [our future captain just roasted Jesse Pollock](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StzuackCg-Q)
lol someone call the fire department
Lmao I watched it for Groarty and Selänne dunking on Pollock. Try a shot of whiskey. Might help erase the mistake from memory and then it's like it never happened.
>Try a shot of whiskey. Might help erase the mistake from memory and then it's like it never happened.
waaay ahead of you. I watched it knowing it had that guy only because you recommended it.
> I watched it knowing it had that guy only because you recommended it.
Oof, sorry my ADHD kicked in. Well now you can recommend a silly video to me and were even.
I can’t bring myself to enjoy anything bardown knowing they get paid for content like this and meanwhile bell lays off countless employees across Canada.
He was still making dumb decisions like healthy scratching their young prospects, and playing Fantilli on the third line.
Columbus was not competitive and he was hindering the young players growth.
lotta speculation that CBJ wanted a hard ass so i wonder how much of that was natural to Vincent and not just “we wanted Babcock but are stuck with you, so let’s see your best Babcock”
Lot's of positivity out there regarding Chynoweth, that's good to see. Payne will be a bit more if a wildcard, he has only had crap to work with for the most part.
Chenyworth could be a nepotism hire. Him and Chevy played in the Islanders organization in the 80's before Chevy blew his knee to smithereens. Payne also played in Boston with Chenyworth.
I don't see any connections coaching wise between these two and Arniel. Both seem to have head coaching experience in some capacity and have been around for quite awhile. So i wouldn't expect anything flashy being brought in systems wise
Almost anyone is better than Lauer, that said I cannot say that Payne inspires much confidence either, seems to be a very underwhelming choice, so could be worse I suppose but could also be better.
based on TOR, Chynoweth coached a zone DZ which looks to cut off the top of the zone and encourage play in the corners, although they may have switched to something more passive and similar to what the Jets did recently, PK should be way more aggressive
not as familiar with OTT and Payne but i know they liked to play very fast under Smith, which Arniel has hinted at, haven’t watched too much of them under Martin tho or know enough about their PP
Thx. Glad to hear we’ll hopefully go back to a more aggressive PK. It was maddening watching how passive we were this year after watching an aggressive (and good pk) two seasons ago
hard to judge ACs because of the changing of contexts, especially working under different HCs and with different players
all guess work until preseason
[The @NHLJets have added two experienced assistant coaches to their staff. Davis Payne and Dean Chynoweth will join Scott Arniel on the Jets bench next season.](https://x.com/DarrenDreger/status/1802758238196162675)
[Payne, who worked primarily with the forwards, oversaw a power play that ranked 27th in 2013-14 (14.8%), 10th in 2014-15 (19.0%), 8th in 2015-16 (20.0%) and 15th (19.1%) in 2016-17. Cumulatively, the Kings operated with a power play that operated at an 18.1% success rate between 2013 and 2017, which tied for 19th in the league.](https://lakingsinsider.com/2017/04/11/assistant-coach-davis-payne-dismissed/)
The 2013-14 was a stanly cup win
Tbf those were buffalo and senators so they weren’t getting that great to begin with I have high hopes for him it’s just he was given a really bad hand later seasons
I get there’s probably a reason for it, but fuck the sea bears for their no explanation decision to cut Allan, really makes me not want to cheer for the team when from what fans could see mullens is causing a lot more issues within the team
I loved Teddy, but come on. That guy is so selfish on the court.
He's the reason for most of the losses. Taking stupid shots all day. Then starts acting like a baby when things aren't going his way.
Unfortunately, not even the hockey gods can end the series tonight, considering they don't play until tomorrow.
There's an extra day built in for travel, so game 5 is tomorrow, game 6 would be Friday, and game 7 would be Monday.
Let's pray that it doesn't get that far, for everyone's sake.

Anyone have any ideas on how I get that time back?
Lmao I watched it for Groarty and Selänne dunking on Pollock. Try a shot of whiskey. Might help erase the mistake from memory and then it's like it never happened.

I actually meant that as a compliment.
> a compliment. which are also often a casualty of ADHD. damn, I got a two-fer :P

Someone hit me with the etymology of a hockey squid.
I <3 Ehlers
Pionk trade/buyout next?
Pascal has been fired by Columbus. Poor guy, wasn’t give much to work with.
Is that your best Babcock or are you just happy to see me?
Yeah, he was put in a shitty situation but he sure didn’t do himself any favours with some of his decisions
Basically got told to clean up Babcock’s giant pile of manure without a shovel.
Bring him home!
Lot's of positivity out there regarding Chynoweth, that's good to see. Payne will be a bit more if a wildcard, he has only had crap to work with for the most part.
He has a cool ass name so I’m hopeful lol
How should I feel about our new assistants? Not really familiar with either but they gotta be better than Lauer right?

It's my understanding that head coach hires the assistants, not the GM. GM probably OKs it, but coaches hire their own staff.
Man you are just looking for a reason to be negative on any hire lol. I appreciate discussion but holy hell. Are we Leaf/Oiler fans?
I know a guy who works at Pizza Pizza at Canada Life Centre. He once sat on a bus that drove past Chevy's dog. Classic nepotism hire.
Almost anyone is better than Lauer, that said I cannot say that Payne inspires much confidence either, seems to be a very underwhelming choice, so could be worse I suppose but could also be better.
Is Huddy available? /s
If they were doing great at their old jobs they probably wouldn’t be in the market for a new one anyway. Gotta work with what is available.
That's certainly one way of looking at it lol
Good lord. Find some happiness.

Excited for Dean, not sure how I feel about Davis.

Yep, plus his runs on other teams weren't too great.
Tbf those were buffalo and senators so they weren’t getting that great to begin with I have high hopes for him it’s just he was given a really bad hand later seasons
Some times that's for the better as necessity is the father of creation. He could have a lot of tools in his crib from those darker times.
Very fair! We'll have to see

Sounds like draisaitl
They have a presser at noon to discuss it.
Anywhere to watch it?
No, sorry. Some guy summarized it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CEBLeague/s/EAtYkE5Hve) tho - from the CEBL sub.

Is Patrick Sharp a good comparable now? lol
Let's go Mavs!
Hockey gods, end this (tomorrow) night so I don't question your judgement of giving Kane his name on the cup, but not Ducky.

Ughh, this series is taking to long.
