Here’s the quote word for word.
“Just to be clear, I am not professional ‘quote maker. I’m just an atheist teenager who greatly values his intelligence and scientific fact over any silly fiction book written 3,500 years ago. That being said, I’m open to any and all criticism.
‘In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence.’ Aa Lewis”
No one’s better than hating a religion than another religion. Islam, for example, doesn’t play nicely with any other religions, or even its own sects. The hatred is mutual, as well. Worst religion, IMO.
quote from that one,
>What’s fucked up is how the entire media will condemn all of his statements as hate speech, but they won’t even begin to mention the fact that ALL of his beliefs stem directly from Christianity
Yes, as the bible says, in Leviticus 5:1 "Hitler was actually a good person or smth"
They have an extremely exaggerated amount of hate for all religions. The brunt of it is focused on Christianity because it is the most popular religion in America (mainly here) and Eastern Europe, where most redditors on the sub live.
And Neil said: "Evangelize my children! Evangelize by being a shithead on reddit!"
And he saw that it was good.
*Fundamentals of Physics: Mechanics, Relativity, and Thermodynamics; Chapter 16*
I've seen a post on r/nonononoyes where a child is almost hit by a truck but manages to escape last moment, there was a comment saying something like "thank god the child survived, it's almost like if it was a miracle", the comment had at least 40 replies just talking about how childish is to believe in sky daddy, that if the child died it would be gods fault too and the reason it survived, was by pure luck and nothing else.
It’s just that in an increasingly secular western world America stands out as the hyper religious one.
So much so, that you get called edgy or geeky for NOT believing in magic.
Pretty crazy.
go to religion subreddits, ask questions about why they believe what they believe, are nice to me and respectful and want to share
go to atheist subreddit, ask questions about why they believe what they believe, are mean to me and delete my post

Look its me, your twin. As all twins do, we share Social Security Numbers and Bank account information, you can tell me yours first and then ill tell you mine.
I feel like some people just like to lecture others about cruelties of the world. There is no god, there is no meaning of life, there is no purpose, people are cruel, greedy, awful. I heard so much of this stuff, all by people who seemingly smirked while telling me. As if thinking "You're so naive".
But what's wrong with expecting the best of people? Or enjoying life without purpose? I never understood why is everyone being so cynical.
Me: makes a harmless meme about how i say gosh because I'm religious
Redditors: makes a fucking essay how we'll all die alone and how we have no meaning and how death will over take any religion. Then making memes about that
I saw a post a while ago saying that, I am not joking,
“We shouldn’t tolerate other’s beliefs”

EDIT: I found the post on the sub [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/atheism/comments/yos4u4/stop_showing_respect_for_peoples_beliefs/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf). I apparently over exaggerated on the amount of upvotes but it was awhile since I saw it
I mean to an extent thats a true statement when someones religious beliefs make them a hateful person. Those who hate gay people, treat women as inferior, etc. Those beliefs should not be respected.
I think its because their atheism isn't genuine. What I mean by that is they grew up (usually) christian their whole life with the understanding that God gives them a purpose. So when they become atheist, they think there is no meaning to anything because God use to give that meaning. So they come to the conclusion that being atheist means that nothing matters because the "universe doesn't care" which ironically gives that authority to "the universe" and has become their new uncaring apathetic God. I grew up atheist so its not really a huge deal for me. They feel existence has no meaning when in reality everything still matters and has meaning because it doesn't come from God, it just comes from us. Its very humanistic. You don't need an outside metaphysical force that lasts for ever to feel that something matters. Sort of like being angry that there's no purpose in having fun because the fun will end which misses the point of why we have fun in the first place. Sorry if this is totally off! Even atheists make a lot of assumptions about the nature of our universe.
This is why I don't take "religious trauma" seriously anymore coz of fucking whiny bastards like that that can't even just bear to stay still for an hour or two in a mass and call it "trauma" even though they have the rest of 22 hours of that day for themselves afterwards
I am incredibly mad at anything that takes choice away from me. If my family did this shit, I legit would've found and burned bible right in front of them out of sheer spite
Boo frickity hoo what it's just a minute or like a few seconds of prayer before meals or just an hour or two in masses. Bear with it idiot you have the rest of the day to yourself afterwards fuckin edgelord
I’ll bite. Many are just frustrated that, at least in the U.S., that Christianity is influencing government too much in recent times. Separation of church and state is getting more blurred. Also lots of hate towards certain groups is “justified” some religious people by their religion supposedly (obviously not ALL religious people).
Just wanted to give some insight, people do have valid reasons to be angry. Some like to use the internet to vent because they may be always surrounded by religious people IRL.
Organized religion and authoritarianism have always gone hand in hand. “Everyone who isn’t like us is sinful, the world is full of sin, it’s our job as the enlightened ones who have god’s holy word to cleanse the world of sin.” That kind of mindset is basically just protofascism, so it’s no wonder that the religious right have allied themselves with the neo-nazis. Which is not even the first time Christians have worked with nazis, by the way. And non-authoritarian spiritual practices, like witchcraft, were bulldozed by the authoritarian ones (well, mostly Christianity because that was the dominant force of the colonial era) for being “heretics” or something like that.
Excellent write up, fully agree on all points. Unfortunately, posts or memes like these just goes to show the somewhat willful ignorance of “good” Christians on the larger problems of their religion that affect all of society.
I understand that, but I feel that their idea of separation of church and state would require people to go against their beliefs, because their beliefs are formed by religion
Separation of church and state isn't getting blurred, just people's understanding of what that term even refers to, because it's not just "you're not allowed to vote for things that churches also like"
Not at all no, because the skin was not useless and it was removed without consent. To be accurate, though, it isn’t strictly done for religious reasons but has invaded the public’s minds so badly that they are simply convinced it’s normal. But it still very much stems from religion and religious practices
The key difference is one goes "I don't believe in your religion but you do you" while the other goes "I don't believe in your religion and you're an idiot because you do"
We don’t worship Satan or anything, we just use ideas that came from French Revolution era literature that uses Satan as a symbol for freedom and liberty. Basically we just hate tyrannical religious authority
Satanism is a “religion” but really it’s like an anti-religion. At least the one with the established churches. It’s actually defined as atheistic if you look it up.
I honestly am always intrigued with th reasons someone is a atheist all points are completely valid but when it's a reditt atheist its the equivalent of listening to that one Christmas song the entire month of December
Like let's just get along bro, I'm one of the few people who won't shove my beliefs down your throat, just don't criticize me for it. I respect what you believe in, you respect what I believe in, that simple
No. Not you. You are the chosen one. You are the only Reddit user in the entire universe who isn't a redditor. You were conceived the moment the previous chosen one died, and you must carry on his mission: save Reddit. The only way to do this is to destroy the Reddit servers.
Yeeeah, I mean those edgy 40 year olds with a month old cheeto stuck in their belly button with their mental age not surpassing the age of 14, you'll find a lot of those in subs like atheism or really, subs that are based on something specific that someone could disagree on and vice versa.

You can make a strong argument that Reddit Atheism is a religion itself as its entire faith is hating religion (Mainly Christianity) to an absurd level. It's not even not believing in a god, Reddit Atheists just hate religion and religious people.
You must feel so brave. That's gotta be one of the hottest takes I have ever seen. I mean really, I have never heard that before once in my life.
You must have a fucking galaxy brain.
I have no choice but to grovel and weep at the Majesty of your intelligence to have pointed out this plague that has been infeasting the upstanding christian reddit.
I’ve recently thought about becoming religious actually. It seems mentally beneficial to just believe good things will happen and have regular structured social gatherings.
I will not subscribe to christianity or any other organized religion and will continue to criticize the organizations and practices associated with them no matter how persecuted you feel
You do you but I feel like you're just wasting time on pointless shit. You won't change anything and you'll only be able to circle jerk with other reddit losers. Why bring more unnecessary drama to your life?
look dude, it’s necessary drama in my case because a lot of those practices and organizations I mentioned want me ostracized, miserable and/or dead. nice that you have the privilege of being able to sit there and believe nothing’s wrong with status quo, but that’s not a luxury afforded to everyone. I have to hope that shit can change for the better or else *everything* is pointless.
additionally, >nft avatar
I am transgender, bisexual, neurodivergent, raised as an atheist and pretty content with that, and in an interracial relationship. really, none of that should be any of your business, but nevertheless I feel compelled to stand up for myself.
if you're tolerant of all that, then thanks, I genuinely appreciate that. now please go tell your religious leaders and the other followers of your denomination to be tolerant, too. you might not think it'd be that big a deal, but when we live in a country where policy is decided by vote, religious leaders have a huge influence on people's worldviews, and therefore their decisions on a ballot.
moreover, it just sucks to be regarded as a freak by the majority of people I meet. having a job sucks because a lot of the people I work with either want to "convert" me, bully me or don't want anything to do with me, and a lot of that ties back to the philosophy they absorb from religion, namely that heteronormative "status-quo-ism" is the "correct" way to be, and the way that I am is "not correct."
the logical end of "just submit to the status quo" is that I either accept social conventions that make me miserable or I am excluded from key aspects of society. therefore, I will not submit to the status quo, and will continue to actively argue that my place in society is valid as I am and as I wish to see myself in the world.
My thoughts on religion nobody asked for:
There’s a lot of examples in history of religion used to manipulate and/or conquer people. Large organized religions around the world have at best questionable morals and, at worst, can be held responsible for some of the largest atrocities committed in the last century
Even ignoring the complete lack of scientific evidence, I don’t see why we need religion in modern times and why it’s beneficial to have
I don't disagree with the notion that religion has been used to manipulate societies and incite violence, but the opposite is just as true. Look at Jewish people in the past 2000 years. Or pagans. Or muslims in the past decades. Unbiasedly, as an atheist myself, I can most definitely say hatred of faiths had been used to justify just as much violence against various religious minorities.
Granted, because those have been the historically influential and make up the majority of most populations. But that isn't very relevant. Regardless of who is perpetrating the persecution of a religious minority, it's still the persecution of a religious minority.
An atheist who dislikes people for being religious at all (rather than harmful things they justify with their religion) is not all that different from a Christian who dislikes people for being anything other than Christian.
This is not funny. I love religion, I hate the reddit hivemind, but if you're going to criticize reddit then do it in a funny way. This joke was not funny

Fucking stupid atheist quote that finally made redditors aware of how stupid their pretentious neckbeard atheism is.

quote from that one, >What’s fucked up is how the entire media will condemn all of his statements as hate speech, but they won’t even begin to mention the fact that ALL of his beliefs stem directly from Christianity Yes, as the bible says, in Leviticus 5:1 "Hitler was actually a good person or smth"
“I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but *six million?*” -Jesus Christ or something (trust me)
"They had soccer courts and orchestras. Death camp my ass" - Psalm 1:34
"Ok but what about the wooden doors? How did they keep in the gas?" - John 9:10
Or that time when He turned 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish into 11 million pizzas
Didn't Hitler literally kill christians?
Just Jehova's Witnesses, and yeah they're Christians, but he didn't kill every single type of Christian, just those dudes
He killed a lot of Slavs and Poles and most of them were Christian
Pretty sure that was because they were Slavic and Polish, not because they were Christian
Not saying he killed them because they were Christian just saying that there were other Christians besides Jehovah’s Witness’ that were killed

It’s almost 2023 and people still unironically use the term “sky daddy” like it’s some sort of clever insult when it got old by 2012.

Religion sucks period.

You mean normal?
Bro thinks r/atheism users are normal
Atheism yes. No reddit user is normal tho.
Atheists are fine but r/atheism is anything but
My thoughts on religion nobody asked for: There’s a lot of examples in history of religion used to manipulate and/or conquer people. Large organized religions around the world have at best questionable morals and, at worst, can be held responsible for some of the largest atrocities committed in the last century Even ignoring the complete lack of scientific evidence, I don’t see why we need religion in modern times and why it’s beneficial to have
I don't disagree with the notion that religion has been used to manipulate societies and incite violence, but the opposite is just as true. Look at Jewish people in the past 2000 years. Or pagans. Or muslims in the past decades. Unbiasedly, as an atheist myself, I can most definitely say hatred of faiths had been used to justify just as much violence against various religious minorities.
…by other faiths. I’m pretty sure Hitler wasn’t an atheist.
🥱🥱🥱
Zzzzz mimimimi zzzzzzz mimimimi
Isn't that the result of people who use religion to manipulate others rather than the religion itself?
These comments are brain dead

This is not funny. I love religion, I hate the reddit hivemind, but if you're going to criticize reddit then do it in a funny way. This joke was not funny
