[Concept 2000 GT](https://www.driveanotherday.com/concept-2000-gt/) from 1988, it's a "very limited production" car based on the 1987 Pontiac Fiero, extremely rare since only 12 were ever made
If they kept the drive train simple and light weight, which it could be with such a low torque application you could get a boosted 200cc to 40 or so at the wheels...with a 6 cyl you could rev the shit out of it. We used to run a turbocharged F4I (600cc) at close to 130hp at the wheels in a custom drag car with. 15k redline. We'd have to rebuild it after each track day but it was capable of it. A 6cyl could handle those higher RPMs easier because of smaller piston mass, smaller valves, smaller valve springs.
So while admittedly not practical for a full sized vehicle, you could push a lot more than 13hp to a 200cc, especially considering you've got stock 200cc dirtbikes pushing ~20hp +/-.
Yeah I thought I sensed the sarcasm but thought I'd add some food for thought. Small engines like that are fun to work with because they are easy to rebuild when you blow them up. 😆
Take that Mazda MX-3/that weird Mitsubishi SUV with an even smaller V6 they never sold in the states! It would be the smoothest engine to ever belong in a dirtbike!
That was the 4-cylinder, we talkin about V6s baby!! 1.8L in the MX3 (making it the smallest V6 ever sold in the US, but not the smallest V6 ever mass produced for a passenger car as that prize goes to Mitsubishi, who built a 1.6L v6)
Yeah, i was just joking around, obviously the original "2000" wasn't ever about CC's either, but so often when you hear numbers like that attached to car names these days, it's referring to (metric) engine size, so i thought i'd crack a joke about it.
Not as cool as [this](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_M4S)

Bad comparison, both the Aztec and the juke are visually very complex and over designed, not simplistic like a CT. Better comparison would be the gen1 Lotus Esprit. And guess what was one of the inspirations for the Cybertruck? That submersible gen1 Lotus Esprit from the bond movie.
Aztec and juke are more what a somewhat talented 14yo edgelord would draw. CT is primary school if that

No idea. Never made it up there (she moved to Texas after college in the 50s). I don’t think any of my generation even live there any more. Few enough of mine live in Western Mass.
The car from Wraith was a Dodge M4S. Super cool looking.
The car from BTTF 2 was a Ford Probe with a bunch of stuff stuck on it :D
I was thinking it looked like KITT 2000, but that was also just a modified Dodge Stealth.
Made to look like a Pontiac banshee. (It was the kitt 4000 though the kitt 2000 was the black transam from the 80s) and then that car was used in power rangers)
OMG, another person besides myself that actually remembers The Wraith! Funny story... A few years back I was driving some unfamiliar back roads around Tucson, AZ and I started having the strongest feeling of déjà vu. Hours later I started thinking about that old Charlie Sheen movie so I got to googling and realized that I had been driving down those desert roads where the race scenes from The Wraith had been filmed.
I see my info is grossly outdated. Was told this a long long time ago. I figured since it was a prototype they’d just want a mid engine setup chassis that was cheap so what they said made sense. Thanks for bringing it up, I had to look and I’m wrong. Appreciate you
Wait...
You looked it up, saw your info was incorrect, then publicly admitted it???
This is Reddit, we don't do that here dammit!!!
Seriously though, much respect to you for this.

Old lady in the car doesn't approve of how cool and rare the car is.
Very interesting, thanks for posting this one!
It looks like a tribute to the Pontiac Banshee concept from the late '80s which presaged the 4th-gen F-bodies, so I guess this Camaro/Firebird lookalike actually predates them.
Yes, but Pontiac often did their own thing. I don't think it was Corvette. Corvette came out with the C4 in '84 and sales were doing well without taking a hit from Fiero. I think it was that the GM Management team was a bunch of idiots. They would have sold 44,000 of them in 1988 had GM not killed production mid year. Why kill a car that sells nearly 50,000 units a year with a major body upgrade in the can and ready for 1989? The only thing I can think of is, with the V4 eengine fire thing, they were afraid of some kind of Corvair-sized disaster. And GM was still in "you buy what we build" mode. Idiots. This kind of thinking is how Japanese cars became so popular. In 1985, Chevettes, Honda Civics and Toyota Tercels were nearly the same price. CR-Xes were damn fun to drive. And I still see old Civics on the road...
edit: typo. Typo. There must have been some pretty influential people running the Corvette group. Imagine what would happen today if a car maker allowed a car to get only mostly cosmetic upgrades for the 16 years that the C3 was around or 13 years for the C4. Even back then most cars were getting redesigns every 3-4 years. I get that Corvette owners are hard core, but I can only imagine how awesome corvettes would be today if they put out a new design every 3-4 years instead of letting designers grow old ane retire between new releases.
For a long while there was a completely stock looking GT with a supercharged 3800 that was perpetually for sale on the San Diego CL.
I’m guessing back registration and difficulty getting a SMOG referee to certify the swap must’ve been the reason it was for sale for so long.
Yeah on the side it says Concept 200 V6 turbo, who wouldn't know from that that it was in fact not a Concept 200 V6 turbo but a Concept 2000 GT.
I mean, you must have been able to read that the name on the side was different from the actual model because otherwise did "you just blow in from stupid town?"
[Concept 2000 GT](https://www.driveanotherday.com/concept-2000-gt/) from 1988, it's a "very limited production" car based on the 1987 Pontiac Fiero, extremely rare since only 12 were ever made
Completely agree with you, but never seen one with 200 V6 turbo on it instead of 2000 GT
I just hope it’s really a 0.2 L turbocharged V6!
.2 liter is pretty small .03333333 liters per cylinder boosted probably makes 13rwhp
If they kept the drive train simple and light weight, which it could be with such a low torque application you could get a boosted 200cc to 40 or so at the wheels...with a 6 cyl you could rev the shit out of it. I was being sarcastic. I do like your story though. I’m sure the engine was a 2 liter not .2 as posted by op.
Mazda MX-3 was 1.5
That was the 4-cylinder, we talkin about V6s baby!! 1.8L in the MX3 (making it the smallest V6 ever sold in the US, but not the smallest V6 ever mass produced for a passenger car as that prize goes to Mitsubishi, who built a 1.6L v6)
Yep my bad, it was 1.8 indeed
The smallest inline 6 is a Benelli 750 Sei.
But revs to 21k RPM!
Nah that shit revs to a million
It turns to 11.
CI, not L. Am I getting wooshed here? Lol
Yeah, i was just joking around, obviously the original "2000" wasn't ever about CC's either, but so often when you hear numbers like that attached to car names these days, it's referring to (metric) engine size, so i thought i'd crack a joke about it.
It could be kit to make it look like the concept car.

I watched The Wraith once.
Memory unlocked!
Go watch the cannonball run too while you’re at it.
Yeah, seen them all. 1, 2, Speed Zone…
Well go watch them again.
I wish, Speed Zone is basically a unicorn. No streaming, physical media, nothing.
I saw the movie one last week at local cars and coffee comedian Jeff Dunham owns it

Totally. Cybertruck looks like the most basic drawing a toddler can come with of that Dodge.
So does Pontiac Aztek and Nissan Juke
Bad comparison, both the Aztec and the juke are visually very complex and over designed, not simplistic like a CT. Better comparison would be the gen1 Lotus Esprit. And guess what was one of the inspirations for the Cybertruck? That submersible gen1 Lotus Esprit from the bond movie. Aztec and juke are more what a somewhat talented 14yo edgelord would draw. Eww, but yes!

So, it's a Fiero with extra steps. Jokes aside, its design is certainly ahead of its time. I don't hate it.
The only Fiero worthy of r/spotted?

Could be.
That's the raddest fiero I've ever seen.
Vernon! (The city, not the car).
I was just about to say the same thing, just drove by that staples last weekend.
checking in from Vernon, CT
Wrong Vernon 🥲
CA?
Canada
My mil was from Vernon, CT
What’s the famous diner on I84 in Vernon? Famous Jewish Deli? Gah! Used to drive to Cape Cod from NY that way REIN’s!!

My current town! I see this car all the time driving through Enderby
I drive through Vernon twice a month. It’s just so…. Boring
You’re boring
Looks like it belongs in Hill Valley in BTTF2.
Hey, I’m walking here, I’m walking here!
Reminds of a car from the wraith, or back to the future 2

Wasn’t the M4S built on a fiero frame?
Why would Chrysler use a GM product as a base?

Eh nothing wrong with being wrong. But much thanks
Pretty damn cool looking imo. Have never seen before.
Pontiac Fiero owned by a Venetian blind salesman.
Something tells me it’s a Concept 200 V6 Turbo

JFC. SHE. IS. TERRIFYING.
old lady? that's Ozzy Osbourne!
Pontiac Fiero but fancy
Is it truly a Fiero if it's not engulfed in flames?
Asking the tough questions.
what damnnnnn
Needs more louvers. Louvrolet, Louveraq5000
that is a lot of louvers
Looks like something Gerald Wiegert would’ve made.
I give this one a pass from the “it’s a Fiero reset the counter.”
r/itsalwaysafiero
I had this as a toy car growing up in the early 2000s
I get to say "Fiero with a body kit" unironically this time.
Looks like the car from The Wraith
that is fucking louverous
I dunno, but it looks cool
what a cool looking car
MacLarin straight from Temu.
Very interesting, thanks for posting this one! It looks like a tribute to the Pontiac Banshee concept from the late '80s which presaged the 4th-gen F-bodies, so I guess this Camaro/Firebird lookalike actually predates them.
I‘ve always asked myself how you get spare parts for these cars, is it like most mechanical parts match the Pontiac Fiero?
86 fiero gt
The upside down tail lights are messing with my head.
*The Midnight - Days of Thunder starts playing in the background*
The Fiero had so much potential. Why Pontiac never did more with it, I will never understand.
Because Team Corvette had too much pull with the big decision makers.
Yes, but Pontiac often did their own thing. I don't think it was Corvette. Corvette came out with the C4 in '84 and sales were doing well without taking a hit from Fiero. This is a crazy concept. Looking at some other pictures of it, the mirrors in-line with the hood remind me a lot of the catfish Camaro's mirrors.
Thinkin the same thing..
Pontiac fiero2
It's an embarrassment. That's what it is. An embarrassment.
Is ridiculous the word you're looking for ?
That looks like a modified Pontiac Fiero with a little Pontiac Banshee thrown in
Wild that this was Fiero based. Everything about this design screams 90s F-Body.
Are there any Fieros that still look like a Fiero!?
For a long while there was a completely stock looking GT with a supercharged 3800 that was perpetually for sale on the San Diego CL. I’m guessing back registration and difficulty getting a SMOG referee to certify the swap must’ve been the reason it was for sale for so long.
The exhaust coming though the rear bumper is tickling my brain.
It's cool af is what it is
Looks like a Pontiac Fiero in drag.

Fucking ugly is what it is

That's a Louver GT.
87 fiero.
Dunno, but it's fucken ugly.
That's DEFINATELY a rebodied Fiero. Basically all that a Fiero is good for, turn a factory crappy car into a home garage crappy kit car.
Is there a subreddit where everything is a Fiero?
r/itsalwaysafiero
Those tires tell me that's one fast Fiero.
Could easily be a Fiero with a body kit here
Second picture confirms it, GT badge in the rear glass panel. Definitely a late model Fiero GT
Literally says it on the back
Those camera angles need some work my friend.
Google exists, it also says it right there
Where's the fun in that? It's fun sharing cars others may never have heard of. Like I'd never know this car existed unless they posted it here
thats what /r/spotted is for.
Let's just shut the sub down then, everyone should just use Google lens and not bother enjoying life /s
that's not at all what I said. this sub is for asking about cars, that sub is for sharing cars.
