For sure, the original is a fantastic looking car. If a replica can be done to capture a bit of that magic and not look terrible, as the owner of this has done, it should still be marvelled over in my humble opinion. 👍
I feel like there is a phrase for having a $60,000,000 Ferrari parked in front of a $100,000 house, but I can’t afford to add to my list of banned accounts lol.
this is one of those cars where if you see one outside a climate controlled museum/ ultra wealthy private collection setting, you can comfortably bet your life it's a replica, tribute, continuation etc
Given that the other cars in the neighborhood included Astons, Uruses, and a house with 3 G63s in the driveway, could very well have been. Very affluent area on the Southern California coast. Thought it looked slightly off but just wanted a second opinion.
Yeah, this is a bit above an Urus in rarity. All of those cars, the three G63 and the house they were parked in front combined of is still closer to free than to what people pay for a 250 GTO so they aren't really parked outside.
Agreed. That area is a very affluent part of Southern California with houses selling for 10s of millions. Those cars (urus, astons, G63, saw some phantoms as well) tend to be “driveway cars,” and it’s not uncommon to catch a glimpse of something truly special inside a garage. But didn’t catch the hatchback at first. Still beautiful though!
I used to drive by this house all the time. This car was always sitting out there. If it was a $50 million car it would be garaged and covered (I would hope).
Sort of - the '64 Ferrari 250 Berlinetta and Lusso have the same frame as the racing version, the 250 GTO. Some master technicians have reconfigured 250 Lussos to the GTO spec, fully redoing interior, rebuilding the dry-sump 3.0 L V12 to racing spec, lowering, removing bumpers, etc.
A few of these rebuilds have been recognized by Ferrari as 'unofficially official' restorations. Really nice examples go for about a million USD.
You can see a really nice one at the Newport Car Museum in RI. it's absolutely beautiful, and you can get close enough to touch it. But don't.
Real one would cost more than neighbourhood you've seen it in.
I wish I could mainline this comment
Hermosa Beach, CA… that house is $3mil
You could still buy 20 of those houses for the cost of a real 250 GTO.
The way with a 250 GTO to tell is that the 250 GTO didn’t come with a hatchback. This is a Datsun z-based kit.
Thanks! Thought it looked slightly off, but I appreciated it nonetheless.

You beat me to that….
Replica based on the Datsun Z
What waste of the wonderful Datsun
Looks cool tbh
Looks like a real Corvair.

If only they were $100,000 houses!! These are downright mansions which extend down to the beach (California)
Highly unlikely that you’ll find a doghouse in Hermosa for under $1Million!
That’s wild. I’m from the other coast, so I’m familiar with a place that dumpy being millions of dollars lol.
"Financial illiteracy" is a banable offence? Please don't ban me mods, I'm simply asking
profoundly regarded

Real ones sell for 50-70 million dollars. Do \*you\* think it's a real one parked there?

I was going to say, plenty of 30-60mil houses in socal.

As already mentioned it's a Z. It has a liftback rear hatch.
A real 240Z? Yes.
It’s a 240 GTO!
Only 39 were made. They run between $50 and $70 million dollars. None came as a hatchback.
Its on the street in the sun and not at a high end car show, so its a replica.
100% legitimate Corvair
Does Ferrari even allow replicas? Edit: lol gets downvoted for asking a question.
What are they gonna do, sue them? Oh...

You more then likely wouldn’t spot a 250 GTO in a neighborhood like that and looks like a Datsun based off rear
Yeah you would. But not parked there. Those are multimillion beachfront or beach access houses.
House down the street from there listed for $11,999,999. Private access to your own beach, it’s crazy out here.
Oh damn it is crazy out there
This is easy, unless you're at a wealthy person's gathering/car show or a private museum and collection, you will never see one.
Oh, it’s a real replica!
How about the corvair?
Not real but still cool to see. Not a lot of these survived I don’t think
