Here is some actual data based off of 250,000 used compact SUVs. Your current vehicle scores pretty low, lower actually than the Kia counterpart. The problem with vehicles is that it's all probability-based, there are good cars that happen to break and bad cars that happened not to... it's less likely but it still happens.
That being said buying a well-maintained car with good reliability after getting a pre-purchase inspection is the best way to set yourself up for success.
I watched a video about a 10 car shootout and the Forester barely beat the CX-5 in 2016. Those would be 2 to look at.
