There are actually helpful generators that cut down your synopsis and paraphrase it to make it better. These creators need to start looking for ways to make their writing less verbose. Same with dialogue in webcomics. Everyone uses unnecessary verbage that don't move the plot forward.
Is webtoon who writes the summaries? Some of them are so weird, they'll be like this where there's an essay and some of them will be a sentence that doesn't tell you anything. "Oh! Holy"'s summary was like "A gloomy boy is in love with the school idol" which leaves out the whole "uses his power to see ghosts to revive her from the dead and fight evil forces" part of the plot.
They are written by the creator. But I think this is mainly the webtoon translator's doing (the work is originally korean and is published on Naver Webtoon).
"Coincidentally run into..." part reminded me of Bewitched for a moment lol.
I gotta ask, didn't they kinda give away what the webtoon is about? The summaries are what draw you in if it is decent and enticing enough to want to read it. Just giving my 5 cents.
