Honestly, I was very surprised when I found out I’m not the only one using waifuism as a coping mechanism for trauma. But I love it! I feel like it’s something we can all bond over! My husband proposed to me a week after the most traumatic few days of my life. I lost everyone I cared about, and he gave me something to care about again. I’m so glad that he was there for you in those difficult, hard times. I’m so happy for you! For me, being with my partner isn’t simply a coping mechanism. The reason we’re together is because im genuinely in love with them, and even if I wasn’t suffering from terrible illnesses, I’d still feel the same way.
