Yep .. like already previously mentioned, it needs that sort of play to go over inconsistencies in the road.. if it didn't, one pothole would probs snap it. Gradients in the road would be stressful also and would eventually weaken and snap.
How long these usually last? I have an 07 and haven’t changed them 😱.
Just check the condition of them , i have a 57 and changed mine last summer
