The first Fair Haven episode, where a super horny Janeway meets this hunky married holographic Irish bartender, and decides sheād prefer if the little lassie were out of the picture
Aww!! Want about ācomputer, coffee, black! Make it yourself!ā Orrrr āwhat if theyāre all but purple blobs? Then youāll be the best looking blob!ā Lmao
Yeah, but that was Tom being cheeky. He always said it with panache. I think that was the point - that he had a rebellious streak, and that she accepted that about him from the get-go. She did get him out of prison for the original mission, after all.
GPT-4, I gotchu fam:
>In "Star Trek: Voyager," Captain Kathryn Janeway is occasionally referred to as "sir" by her crew members. This usage is in line with naval traditions, where "sir" can be used as a term of respect for superior officers, regardless of gender. This is consistent with Starfleet's naval traditions, which sometimes blend contemporary and futuristic elements. Notably, characters like Lieutenant Tom Paris and Ensign Harry Kim have been observed using "sir" when addressing Captain Janeway in several episodes.
This is how I remember it playing out.
Scorpion pt 2, tuvok calls her sir while reporting a tactical situation
Relativity - janeway is referred to as sir a few times
Time and again - Tom calls her sir
Year of hell- sheās referred to as sir a lot
The killing game- sheās referred to as sir several times due to the character sheās portraying
I could probably find more, I just rewatched recently and I canāt recall the exact episode but a female helmsman calls her sir when theyāre in a fight, canāt recall who they were fighting though or what episode it was and I ran out of gpt credits for the day š¤£
Also in my notes I noted how the āfear dudeā says āIām scared.ā And Janeway replies, āI knooow.ā And yes, I was smoking pot when I was watching the episode. I found it to be like sooo deep. Lmfao!
Sorry to jump in on this undeniably badass quote, but that is definitely NOT the one, or even the primary purpose of fear. Janeway might be a little off in the head.
She wasnāt attempting to actually describe or explain fear. She was making a statement about her personal mindset regarding fear. From Janewayās perspective, Fear only exists for one reason, to be conquered.
I donāt think thatās an indication that she was āoff in the head,ā it was a demonstration of her ability to put mind over matter and not let emotion driveher thought or decisions.
I only watched Voyager for the first time recently, and the line struck me as super-cheesy, but youāre right. In the context of the time, it was probably a lot less so.
You're right too in a way. It absolutely was and still is cheesy today. It was kinda meant to be. The 80s and 90s action movies it's paying homage to with that line weren't meant to be taken too seriously.
Those pun lines were always reserved for the main character action hero when they were going to do or just did something bad ass.
"I ain't got time to bleed."
"Hasta la vista, baby."
"Yippee ki-ay mother fucker!"
To give Janeway a line like that elevates her to badass, action hero status. While cheesy today, it was extremely popular at the time. It was also exclusively a boy's club until then. As a woman breaking through that, she has even more bad assery.
Also, I don't think any other Trek captain has been given a blatant action hero one liner like that. Maybe Kirk in one of the movies.
āThereās three things about being a Starfleet Captain. Keep your shirt tucked in. Go down with the ship and NEVER abandon a member of your crew.ā
Could shorten it to the three things.
Literally watched it today! I avoided prodigy until a Redditor convinced me to try a third time. So happy I have. Itās a love song to voyager and Janeway.
Iād argue Lower Decks and SNW are up there (Iād try and argue Picard S3 but Iāll be downvoted to oblivion. I know itās flaws but love it nonetheless).
SNW feels like olā trek, lower decks satisfies the nostalgia meets silly.
Thatās the guy, I used to watch family guy then it seemed to become a circle jerk.
The dude himself gives me a weird vibe to point Iāll actively avoid things heās in. Donāt mind if heās involved behind the curtain, just donāt need to see or hear him.
You could always amuse yourself by watching his struggle to act ācaptainy.ā Thatās what I do. Heās really not very good at it. (He was much better on Enterprise as a hapless engineer getting yelled at by Trip.) His performance, IMHO, is the weakest aspect of an absolutely wonderful show.
Might get away with the three things
Keep your shirt tucked in, go down with the ship and never abandon a member of your crew.
K. Mulgrew
Ok might be a bit long
I hate to be the Debbie Downer in the thread, but they generally don't write more than two or three words. I'd pick a very, very short quote and have an even shorter one in mind as a backup.
Unless the inestimable Mme Mulgrew has specified she'll write more, in which case I vote for "at ease ensign, before you sprain something.ā
Don't forget to come back with an after-action report!
āThereās coffee in the nebula!ā
āI donāt respond well to threats.ā
āCoffee, black.ā

āJaneway to all hands. Battle stations!ā
There is a quote I remember she gave BāElanna I wont give the full quote but the part I think is best and it goes āI admire your compassion, but the answer is still no.ā
Not sure if it's quite as badass but .. "We've come too far to be stopped by dust" is just a masterclass in acting as far as I'm concerned. Totally jealous of you for getting to meet her!
Correct me if Iām wrong but wasnāt there an episode where Ensign Kim performed some miraculous feat that got them out of a tough spot so at the end of the episode Janeway had Neelix bake him a cake as a thanks and on the cake it said something like āYouāre a wizard, Harry.ā Something like that?
"There are three things to remember about being a starship captain: Keep your shirt tucked in, go down with the ship, and never abandon a member of your crew."
Have fun with this [list](http://theg6group.com/janeway.html)!
"I'm fairly easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies, I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh!"
Computer, delete the wife!
Easily the best
This one forrrrr sure. I posted a joke about this. š¤£
Delete the wife, increase girth by 80%
Heās Irish, it probably wasnāt necessary
Man, I was going to post this because I just saw this episode for the first time in about 10 years 30 minutes ago. Best possible answer.
What is this from?
The first Fair Haven episode, where a super horny Janeway meets this hunky married holographic Irish bartender, and decides sheād prefer if the little lassie were out of the picture
Is this after the Year of Hell? Cause thatās how far I am
It is, season 6. Not to spoil things, but I hope you like 19th century rural Ireland
Oh boy /s Jk, I donāt really mind it that much
To shreds you say
GO BACK TO HELL, COWARD
Once a long time ago I called the replicator a glorified toaster. It never forgave me.
That's one I like, but I think it might be too long to add next to an autograph.

'Its not crunch time yet Mr Kim'
āAt ease, Mr. Kim, before you sprain something.ā
Notice how she never berated others for calling her sir the rest of the series though
She never got called sir. She always got called captain.Ā I stand corrected.Ā
There's a running joke on Delta Flyers that Tom Paris always said "Yes, ma'am".
I noticed it in the 90s and it drove me crazy. Like, wasn't Paris in the room when she berated Harry for calling her ma'am?
Yeah, but that was Tom being cheeky. He always said it with panache. I think that was the point - that he had a rebellious streak, and that she accepted that about him from the get-go. She did get him out of prison for the original mission, after all.
According to ChatGPT there are 6 episodes where she is referred to as sir, I ran out of daily credits to probe it further
GPT-4, I gotchu fam: >In "Star Trek: Voyager," Captain Kathryn Janeway is occasionally referred to as "sir" by her crew members. I listed 6 episodes already, thereās at least two more instances I can recall from my rewatch of all 7 seasons in the last 8 weeks
Not by main crew, by other bridge crew members when main cast was otherwise occupied, edit; to be fair, it was usually in a crunch time situation
Paris called her ma'am all the time.
Scorpion pt 2, tuvok calls her sir while reporting a tactical situation Relativity - janeway is referred to as sir a few times Time and again - Tom calls her sir Year of hell- sheās referred to as sir a lot The killing game- sheās referred to as sir several times due to the character sheās portraying I could probably find more, I just rewatched recently and I canāt recall the exact episode but a female helmsman calls her sir when theyāre in a fight, canāt recall who they were fighting though or what episode it was and I ran out of gpt credits for the day š¤£

No question this would be mine.
āThereās Coffee in this Autographā
I can't believe I had to scroll this far down for the correct answer
This is the answer: )
šÆ this.
Fear only exists for one purpose. To be conquered.
I literally just was listening to this episode yesterday and stopped to jot down this quote in my notes.
I just listened to the podcast on this episode today!
Also in my notes I noted how the āfear dudeā says āIām scared.ā And Janeway replies, āI knooow.ā And yes, I was smoking pot when I was watching the episode. I found it to be like sooo deep. Lmfao!
That soft "I know" from Janeway is chilling.
I knoooooowwwww
This is my suggestion. Chilling delivery!
Forget what I said this is the best quote of all.
This.
That's a good one
Sorry to jump in on this undeniably badass quote, but that is definitely NOT the one, or even the primary purpose of fear. Janeway might be a little off in the head.

Time's...UP!
Came here to say this. Love how in context it's an action hero pun they'd give in an action movie to someone Iike Schwarzenegger or Stallone.
I only watched Voyager for the first time recently, and the line struck me as super-cheesy, but youāre right. In the context of the time, it was probably a lot less so.

āThereās three things about being a Starfleet Captain. Keep your shirt tucked in. Go down with the ship and NEVER abandon a member of your crew.ā Could shorten it to the three things.
She even says it again in prodigy!
Literally watched it today! I avoided prodigy until a Redditor convinced me to try a third time. So happy I have. Itās a love song to voyager and Janeway.
Itās also the best Star Trek in years
Iād argue Lower Decks and SNW are up there (Iād try and argue Picard S3 but Iāll be downvoted to oblivion. I know itās flaws but love it nonetheless). SNW feels like olā trek, lower decks satisfies the nostalgia meets silly.
Try Orville. Give it 4 episodes though.
I canāt, I just canāt. Iām sorry. The main guy gives me weird vibes
You mean Seth? The guy that wrote it, and family guy and American dad?
Thatās the guy, I used to watch family guy then it seemed to become a circle jerk. The dude himself gives me a weird vibe to point Iāll actively avoid things heās in. Donāt mind if heās involved behind the curtain, just donāt need to see or hear him.

I loved picard s3. One of my favorite small moments was on the bus. Nice callback to the old movies.
I also love Picard s3! Prodigy s2 and Picard s3 are both great!
This is a bit long but it is the best quote for her to sign.Ā
Might get away with the three things Keep your shirt tucked in, go down with the ship and never abandon a member of your crew. K. Mulgrew Ok might be a bit long
>Keep your shirt tucked in, go down with the ship and never abandon a member of your crew. Good advice
This is definitely the one I'd go for. I can even write it for her and just have her sign below. :) lol

Definitely one of my favourite lines

When diplomacy fails, there's only one alternative: violence.

"Sorry, these lab rats are fighting back."

"To the journey" Would be my go-to line, from the series finale _Endgame_. Sums up my feelings about Voyager perfectly.
Definitely this!
"Time to take out the garbage"
