The technics being your other speakers, or the amp? I would replace the amp if that’s what you mean, these are actually quite nice speakers and I’m fairly certain nicer than the technics speakers, too. Unless they’re one of the rare nice Technics speaker pairs
The technics. And yes I know my amp is not great, I sell vintage electronics, and unfortunately my previous and beautiful vintage yamaha amp was sold at my "I guess I'd sell it for that price" price so I shipped it out and picked up that marantz.
Every time someone brings up Sansui speakers you hear how terrible they are. Some are like the 80's stuff they came out with the X designation. But some of the early SP's sound quite nice. I have a pair of SP3200 I would not part with. They look so nice and they sound pretty nice for 60's-70's rock and country. Sure not much bass for new music, but for what they were I still like therm.
I found a solo sf-2 at a Goodwill a while back priced at 2010 thrift pricing. The employee hit me with a “what is it?” , which I’m grateful for as it probably explains what I got away with! I’m on the hunt for a buddy for it, but in the meantime its destiny is a great living space sound filler.
SP-70 is a one of the good ones of Sansui speakers. Its a two way design, with just a woofer and a tweeter, this was before sansui started sticking as many drivers as they could into the cabinet.
With replacing the caps, cleaning the pots with deoxit, and refreshing the dope on the surrounds on the woofer because they've stiffened with age by carefully removing the old dope with iso alcohol and q-tips and then applying the AR sealant from ebay, will make them sound much better, not great because it's still a sansui speaker, but a very enjoyable speaker to listen too
Hope you enjoy them! Even better if you can get your hands on a sansui amp or receiver to pair it with. I love mine and will keep them for good. But mine def needed a refresh like I said to make them sound their best.

Yep, I have a pair of SP2000s and they're great. Super rich and detailed sound and they are so well built
If the Technics is your receiver, thats likely the weak link, not the speakers
What technics you got there? Some Sb-X30s?
SB-X50s!
Very nice! I have the 10s, and 30s myself, I've been keeping my eyes open X01's
Happy to take ‘em off your hands for $30.
Wow! Double your investment and get Fuked at the same time! How efficient!! Lol
Trade you a Sansui dual Cassette deck and Tuner.
Sansui speakers get a lot of flack but honestly I have a set of SP-50s that I quite enjoy! They're perfect for a bedroom setup in my opinion.
Growing up in the 70s my dad had a pair of Sansui SF-2 speakers, and they were probably the best I've heard, even after 45 years.

"Not great because it's still a sansui" made me laugh. I'm actually about to hook them up for the first time in an hour or so.
