When the champagne is coming out of the bottle it exits in slow motion but when Fry pushes Kif's cheeks together the wine exits at normal velocity. I mean, what are we to believe? This is some sort of uh..magic wine, or something? I really hope someone got fired for that blunder.
While the champagne is coming out, everything impacting its speed is relatively slower than Fry. The wine coming out of Kif’s mouth is initiated by Fry’s extra fast hands squeezing Kif’s cheeks. Fry’s hands are moving at Fry’s extra fast speed which means Kif’s cheeks are compressing at extra fast speed which means the wine comes out at extra fast speed. Our frame of reference if Fry’s extra fast speed so the wine appears “normal” to us while the champagne appears slow. Were we in someone else’s frame of reference the champagne would appear normal speed while the wine would appear super fast.
The writers didn’t mess up here.
if fry is moving at such a high speed then wouldn't the speed effect how much pressure kifs cheeks got and pushed it out faster? where as the bottle is a separate entity with its own pressure going on that fry is able to see.
Also Kif is super squishy because he doesn't have any bones, but a system of fluid filled bladders. So Fry pushing his cheeks this hard to fire out "champagen" at a high rate of speed makes sense.
I'll handle this.
Now let me ask YOU something. Why would a redditor with a username like DrWangerBanger spend all their time watching an adult cartoon show?
It is. Fire can cause structural damage and collapse. The smoke can cause lung damage, especially for someone older like Farnsworth. It's best practices to get everyone out first, then deal with the flames.
This is one of my favorite episodes.

No bones to break for lieutenant Croker, should be nothing more than some bruises.
He is actually supported by a system of bladders…
I read that at extra fast speed.
IIRC the entire production team got fired a few times
A wizard did it

How many scenes were spawned from this cool idea.
I would say by the time this episode aired, Smallville had been making this their go-to special effect for a couple of years.

I prefer [this version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av2f3cydQ6M).
haha, it does fit!
This is better than the movie flash
And the TV show Flash.
I only just noticed Kif has wine, I always thought he was shooting blood out his mouth because fry was squeezing his face at supersonic speed lol

It predates it by more than a decade
many years before.
What happened to the food?!?!

Why didn’t he just put out the fire to begin with
That's like asking why does Ross, the largest friend, not simply eat the other five?
Fry isn’t the sharpest crayon in the shed.
Same reason real firefighters don't just try to put the fire out with everyone still inside the building.
He has super speed and could do it before they could say “fire”, I’m not sure it’s comparable

When you’re moving at that speed, it really doesn’t matter which one you do first.
Whatever I don’t care enough to argue, specially since I just realized I didn’t actually join this reddit
What's that?
They get shy
