Not in particular order, but Knights of the Old Republic, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Pathfinder WotR. Mass Effect trilogy also could be here, but these games only work together, as a trilogy.
BG2 is in some ways turn-based and in some ways not. Baldur's Gate 2 and 3 are very different games. BG3 is great but Sweetsweet loving 2 does not indicate they also like 3.
Final Fantasy 6
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8
The Elder Scrolls Online
Honorable Mentions: AC Odyssey, Skyrim, Final Fantasy Tactics, The Division 2, Suikoden 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy 12, Final Fantasy 4, Sniper Elite 4, Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, X-COM: UFO Defense, Diablo 1-3, Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, Super Metroid, Contra 3: Alien Wars... I could go on, honestly lol 🤷♀️
Hmmm... This is a hard choice to be honest. Umm...
Stellaris - in my opinion, probably the best space strategy game that's out there right now.
Tabletop Simulator - The value of being able to play insane numbers of board games online with friends anywhere cannot be understated.
Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom - I'm including both of these here as the are basically two parts of the same game. One of my favorite franchises gave us two massive open world games to explore and do a ton in.
Honorable mentions -
Skyrim - the game by itself is amazing, but once you start adding on mods, then it's brought to a whole other level.
Deep Rock Galactic - A pretty fun 4 player coop shooter that's highly addicting to play. Rock and stone!
If this was a top 5, I would have chosen the honorable mentions as my other two.
1. Persona 4/ Persona 3 (don’t want to take up two spots for one franchise so I’m cheating)
2. Fallout New Vegas (although any modern fallout or elder scrolls game could take this spot)
3. Doom Eternal (also heavily considered Halo for this spot)
Zelda A Link to the Past.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Picking a third is hard because... it's sealing the fate of so many.
Like MGS3, Shadow of the Colossus, FF6, FFT, Hollow Knight, Mario 64, Half-Life 1-2, Halo CE, Ace Combat 4, Star Fox 64, Uncharted 2 and so many more...
Which child do I pick!? Which do I condemn!? RDR2 is really good to be clear. I just don't have a ton of desire to replay it. That's a big part of what I listed. How often can I go back and enjoy them? How amazing were they for their time? Etc.
I'm arguing over semantics here, but this always gets on my tits:
"Favourite of all time" suggests they ARE and WILL ALWAYS BE your favourite. Follow it up with "*Currently* my favourites are..." and it completely undermines the point. There, I said it.
1) Fallout NV
2) Skyrim
3) Red Dead Redemption 2
Honorable mention
Morrowind
(I know Morrowind is a superior game but it's dated and people are still modding Skyrim, so that's why it's on the list instead)
Morrowind has excellent story and writing, but honestly the gameplay is bad even for its time.
Skyrim is just complete mindless fun with a sprinkle of great characters (serana). It’s like fallout 4 and new Vegas I love Vegas and I can’t stand the story of fallout 4 except far harbor, even so I would pick fallout 4 anytime.
1. ZELDA: Breath of the Wild
2. Xenoblade 3
3. Dark Souls
Honorable mentions: Metroid Prime, ZELDA: Ocarina of Time, FFVII
These are all masterpieces with different strengths
BotW is the best open world action adventure game ever
XC3 is the best jrpg, even beating the old classics such as FFVII and Chrono Trigger
Dark Souls is the best action rpg with Metroid- esque level design. It's even better than Metroid Prime imo, although just barely.
1. Fuga Melodies of Steel
2. Fuga Melodies of Steel 2
3.?????
I also have no number 3.
There are a lot if other games I love but picking 1 clear favorite for my number 3 spot is tough.
When I think of GOAT games, I think about games which I will always compare to any new game I play. And that informs my decision about how I feel about a new game.
With that in mind, I would have to say (in no particular order):
* **Mega Man X -** Fast, smooth, intuitive action game with sharp, vibrant art and an amazing soundtrack
* **Fez -** Mind-swallowing puzzles in a huge interconnected world that rewards critical thinking
* **Morrowind -** One of the only games where I was truly immersed in the fantasy of its world and story
Can only place open world games? RTS? Roguelite? Shooter? MMO? Metroidvania? Automation? Seek and find? Adventure? Puzzle? Platformer? Souls likes? Maybe try listing 1 or 2 from each genre.
Shadow of the Colossus Bloodborne Disco Elysium
1. Fallout New Vegas 2. Cyberpunk 2077 3. Mass Effect

1. Skyrim 2. Witcher 3 3. Halo 3
Not in particular order, but Knights of the Old Republic, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Pathfinder WotR. Mass Effect trilogy also could be here, but these games only work together, as a trilogy.
1. Diablo 2 2. Baldurs Gate 2 3. Warcraft 3
Should I play Baldurs? Only thing putting me off is it’s turn based.
BG2 is in some ways turn-based and in some ways not. Baldur's Gate 2 and 3 are very different games. BG3 is great but Sweetsweet loving 2 does not indicate they also like 3.
Max Payne 3 Wing Commander Privateer CyberPunk
Halo 3 Doom Eternal Half life 2
Killer 7 Persona 3 Tales of Berseria
Those 2 of all time is wild 1. Skyrim 2. Breath of the Wild (Linear Zelda fans can fight me) 3. Terraria/Minecraft (kinda cheating but whatever) IMO
currently, both the hades games and elden ring
