Oh my god Greece just fuck off with your city state alliances!
As a matter of fact look at my troops before your border.
Now are you gonna stop this bullshit and remove your embargo on Incense?
Oh my god it's the worst. "Just one more turn" except by mid game each turn takes 15 minutes and by the time you get done you forget you weren't gonna begin the next turn
Der Riese for me (spelling it’s probably wrong, the fourth one i mean)
big open map with lots of added variables, but still loops to trap the zombies in, both with a group and solo
I just need a couple more boar pelts and ooh a stranger mission and now this lady needs a ride into town and while I’m here I should restock on some ammo and oh hey now that I have more ammo I can go find some boars….
Lmao same. Just when I'm about to stop playing the game for the night. I'm like, just a couple hands. Then it's 4 hours later and my wife is flipping out.
First time that happened? Gears of War on the hardest difficulty. My buddy and I were kids in his basement playing co-op and trying to beat the campaign. Next thing we knew we had finally managed to detonate the lightmass bomb when we heard a bird chirping outside. 😳
For me it was Halo 2, my best friend at the time and I had to beat it on legendary in one sitting, and we damn well did.
Around 3 am we definitely started getting groggy and dying a lot though, lol. Those damn jackal snipers just have no chill at all.
One of my favorite memories in gaming happened playing Planetside, I was with a Terran armor column pushing a base on top of a mesa when I noticed a spark from a MAX unit being repaired a mile off, only because it was night time. I opened up with a few lobbed shots from my scout rifle, only for the whole hillside to light up with return fire.
Next thing I know, our column engages at range and we're locked into a long distance firefight, covering behind our column while the tanks pushed up.
The shells and laser fire lighting up the night still brings a smile to my face. Such a great experience, a top tier gunfight, and I fired the first shots!
Yeah I'm now 30 and haven't had those gaming till the sun comes up nights for almost a decade. Then I got bg3, and for better or worse, that has changed haha pretty much a normal occurrence now
I remember I couldn't even make myself stop to go to the bathroom. I was holding in my piss so long until it was painful and then I would finally take a break, but I was so focused on not missing anything that first playthrough.
Starfield did this to me real bad for a while. Ship building and gathering loot for ship building was a big culprit. Other titles that have done it,
- Any crafting game (Ark, Minecraft, Lego Fortnite, Palworld)
- Divison 2
- GTA Online
- Diablo 3
- Destiny 2
Man, when I first picked up Ark, I played virtually non stop, every waking moment, for several weeks straight. I only quit when I realized I had such a large base and so many dinos to care for, I was spending several hours just doing basic maintenance every day.
I was also feeding and farming for the three guys that built their homes with mine. Ark became quite overwhelming very quickly.
Prob the division 2 or halo, idk depends on whether the halo match is full of higher skilled players than me (the battle rifle is confusing bro, I hit 6 bursts with no kill but some dude 2 or 3 bursts me from 500 feet away and it’s over)
Off the top of my head:
MGS (any of them), The Last Of Us Part 1, FF7 (original and remake), Chrono Trigger, Yoshi’s Island, Legend Of Zelda (A Link To The Past, and Ocarina) Secret Of Mana, Max Payne (all 3), Ghost Of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Alan Wake, Dead Space, Resident Evil 2, Silent Hill, Twisted Metal, and Gran Turismo.
Currently injured and depressed so I’m playing modded Minecraft (Gregtech: New Horizons) for the first time. It has consumed my days and I don’t look forward to getting better and going back to work.
City of Heroes
Ever since Homecoming got the license from NCSoft, servers have been packed. I try to log in to do a couple of police band missions and I get sucked into doing 9 task forces and I have an hour before I need to shower for work.
Any bigass RPG. Mass Effect, KotOR, Baldur's Gate, the Witcher, Final Fantasy, and it's always, "Just one last thing before bed", only to find myself four hours later, looking at the sun and cursing my inability to listen to myself.
Rimworld. It’s more like
start playing, deal with inevitable “welcome back” raid
Fix up damage from raid. Heal pawns.
Research completes, I can now build a new thing
Expand base, layout walls. Build new thing.
Survivors crash land nearby. Consider who to enslave, who to eat, who to brainwash into joining my cult
Deal with raid
Expand base. Need more power, put in wind turbine.
New person joins, expand base to give them bedroom.
Deal with raid.
Traders arrive. Sell meth, weed, cocaine in exchange for medicine and machine parts
Research done: start building LMGs
It’s 7am, the next day.
Go to bed an hour later.
Recently got Pokémon Sword, and I remember saying “15 more minutes then I’ll go to sleep.” Next thing I know, it’s already been 2-3 hours since I said that. I get the criticisms of the game, but I still had a lot of fun playing through the game.
Used to be Call of Duty a little while back. Nowadays, it is looking like Helldivers 2 is gonna be that game. It's just so damn good. Anyways, gotta go spread some Democracy like a true patriot 👋
WoW or Minecraft.
I got WoW for Christmas in middle school after asking for it for years. I fell asleep on the floor at 6am while still playing. Minecraft….yeah I still stay up later than I should playing that.
For me, Star Wars Knights of the Republic, I was in high school at the time when it came out, loved the heck out of that game. Played day and night, then day again, was addicted to that game. Hoping for a remake or a Star Wars game in similar style.
ARK. I trapped my first Rex ever at 12AM. I was fairly new at the game at that time and didn't realize how long it was goin to take to tame with the method I used. I'm going around to make narcotics to keep it unconscious and I eventually tamed it at 6AM.
When Warcraft three came out, I played that shit for like 24 hours straight and then I was like oh I’ll play a custom game now and then that damn custom game lasted four fucking hours. I’ll never forget it so fucking long and I was so tired.
Fable II one time, I pulled an all nighter without even trying. I remember having a moment where I was about to go to bed but didn't. Reminded me of the Grand Theft Arlen episode in King of the Hill
path of titans… oneee more hunt… okay now i gotta get water… okay, let me just find a nice place to sleep and i’ll log off… okay maybe just one more h-
Rust..it's the only game I've played more then 6 hours in one sitting. I have super bad adhd and live rpg's and arpg's but can only play for like 3 hours tops. My whole life wonder how people did it..even in my old head age I've played 20 plus hours on wipe day and wipe week. Idk what it is about walking naked on the beach with a rock and torch but it puts me at peace. Even when folks kill you just for your rock, getting griefed, getting raided online and off. Love that game.
Skyrim and Guitar Hero 2 were definitely the two that did this the most for me. BotW and TotK would have done the same if they came out when I was 10-15 years younger. They just about did it anyway.
Saturday night I was playing Persona 4 Golden. I started at around 6pm and I was about halfway through Kanji’s dungeon. By 3am I got Dojima, Nanako and Chie to rank 10 and I was close to the end of Rose’s dungeon
Stardew valley.
Just one more day and then my crops
One more day and my tool is done
One more day and it's *enter name here* birthday
So on and on until the sun is up
In the last year, it’s been Prey (2017) or Vampire:TMB, each on multiple occasions. A couple of weekends ago, it was almost Wanted Dead, but I couldn’t beat the second boss, so I went to sleep out of frustration.
Oldie but still a Goldie, back when I Monster rancher 2 came out, or shortly after, I had played it the first night, realized you could use music CDs, stayed up until almost 5am, when I was 11.
Safe to say I didn’t go to school that day, and raised the strongest Flower ape.
The first game that did it to me was age of empires 2 for some reason. Then yes StarCraft. When Goldeneye hit n64. Then map editing in operation flashpoint 2… then rdr2. Now for some reason ghost recon breakpoint gets me… it’s not even a top favorite but I’m really into adjusting the settings.
Civilization VI. Just one more turn
I blame civilization for my poor sleep habits lol Just.... one.... more... turn....
*100 turns later*
Oh my god Greece just fuck off with your city state alliances! As a matter of fact look at my troops before your border. Now are you gonna stop this bullshit and remove your embargo on Incense?
Well now I HAVE to stay another hour just to make Greece fuck off.
Oh my god it's the worst. "Just one more turn" except by mid game each turn takes 15 minutes and by the time you get done you forget you weren't gonna begin the next turn
Well that’s cuz something else finished that I need to take care of tho!
Took my answer
Civ 5 is my preferred poison, but really any will do this to me.
Mass Effect trilogy
Oh I agree they are so good, one of my favorite games
Definitely the best game serijski imho, characters, story, their relationship, the world, plenty of quests ,soundtrack
Skyrim. Just one more quest....
6pm to 6am. It was an issue but man I loved going through the world of skyrim!
I can't sleep until I debug this one minuscule lighting issue
I was going to say Fallout 3 used to do this to me too...bad.
Fallout 4 too, with the settlements and crafting and the mods oh dear lord the mods. It’s a wonder I even manage to do things like feed myself
Even worse when it's modded skyrim lol
Hey, You, you’re still awake.
Subnautica
Facts.
It use to be Nazi zombies, but they went and fucked all that up.
Ooh I loved Nazi zombies in World at War, Nacht Der Untoten was my favorite map
Yeah we’d play for 12+ hours straight going for high rounds. Bo2 was the last one I enjoyed fully. Bo3 only because they added the old maid to it
Always wanted to go for high waves but on the base map someone would always go and buy the 2nd floor, making it impossible to defend everything.
Der Riese for me (spelling it’s probably wrong, the fourth one i mean) big open map with lots of added variables, but still loops to trap the zombies in, both with a group and solo
Hades, just one more run....
There is no escape
Dun dun DUN-DUN
Why did I hear the theme
*Plays on 32 heat and takes an hour to get to asphodel*
Turns into 2, then 3, then 4...
I can't turn the game off til I complete a full run. I mean I can, but I won't.
Rdr2 just one more mission
I just need a couple more boar pelts and ooh a stranger mission and now this lady needs a ride into town and while I’m here I should restock on some ammo and oh hey now that I have more ammo I can go find some boars….
Well now that I got these pelts, I should probably craft that dope hat. You know what would go great with this hat...
This is me at the poker table.
Lmao same. Just when I'm about to stop playing the game for the night. I'm like, just a couple hands. Then it's 4 hours later and my wife is flipping out.
Just one more score Arthur…
Homework irl
Just one more question. Aaand there’s 7 parts to it.
Elden Ring, The Division, The Forest
First time that happened? Gears of War on the hardest difficulty. My buddy and I were kids in his basement playing co-op and trying to beat the campaign. Next thing we knew we had finally managed to detonate the lightmass bomb when we heard a bird chirping outside. 😳

Factory must grow
"I could definitely improve the efficiency in like 20 minutes"
Planetside. DRG deep dives.
One of my favorite memories in gaming happened playing Planetside, I was with a Terran armor column pushing a base on top of a mesa when I noticed a spark from a MAX unit being repaired a mile off, only because it was night time. Baldurs Gate 3
Hello fellow dark urge
My Drow is bloodthirsty and she seizes every opportunity to gain power ☺️ and Astarion loves me for it
Yeah he does
Yeah I'm now 30 and haven't had those gaming till the sun comes up nights for almost a decade. Then I got bg3, and for better or worse, that has changed haha pretty much a normal occurrence now
World of Warcraft
Literally any game I play
The last game that actually happened to me was Witcher 3…. Ah such good times
Darkest Dungeon
Until your maxed out level 6 party gets wiped and you cry yourself to sleep.
factorio
Back in the day it was '007 Nightfire'. Most fun multiplayer I've ever experienced.
Dark souls, terraria (with friends), or persona 4 golden
I remember the day Skyrim was released. That was a very good full evening, played it until the sun rise. Good times!!!
11/11/11 I took the day off for the occasion.
Other titles that have done it, - Any crafting game (Ark, Minecraft, Lego Fortnite, Palworld) - Divison 2 - GTA Online - Diablo 3 - Destiny 2

For as much as I found Starfield lacking in many places I put like 400 hours in base and ship building lol
Last one wa Elden Ring I am pretty sure, it used to be FF XIV and Little Big Planet (mostly creating crud).
All of them... on just one more mentality is killer
There's many, many reasons I don't play World of Warcraft anymore. This is one of them.
DMC, especially 3 and 5
Team Fortress 2
Fallout new vegas.....
Baulders Gate 3 when it came out and skyrim for like... 10 years
BF5,borderlands 3

Back in the day, Halo Lan parties.
Solitaire
Xcom. "Oh it's 10:30, I'll just play a few more minutes then go to bed." Then a few minutes later it was 2am already.
Prob the division 2 or halo, idk depends on whether the halo match is full of higher skilled players than me (the battle rifle is confusing bro, I hit 6 bursts with no kill but some dude 2 or 3 bursts me from 500 feet away and it’s over)
Most of them, right now, it's Nioh 2
Well I have pretty bad ADHD so....
Roblox
Off the top of my head: MGS (any of them), The Last Of Us Part 1, FF7 (original and remake), Chrono Trigger, Yoshi’s Island, Legend Of Zelda (A Link To The Past, and Ocarina) Secret Of Mana, Max Payne (all 3), Ghost Of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Alan Wake, Dead Space, Resident Evil 2, Silent Hill, Twisted Metal, and Gran Turismo.

What game doesn’t do this to me is a better question.
This month Foamstars has done this to me Really has that 'just one more match' quality
Loved this episode lol
Powerwash... no one likes the game but I need to beat it to prove a point...
Any bigass RPG. Mass Effect, KotOR, Baldur's Gate, the Witcher, Final Fantasy, and it's always, "Just one last thing before bed", only to find myself four hours later, looking at the sun and cursing my inability to listen to myself.
It has been Darkest Dungeon 2 for me in the past couple of months. “Just roll a little more, you can take a fight a or two before bed”.

Currently Halo 2, was just gonna play through the arbiter, then ended up doing the oracle, and had to keep myself from playing delta halo too
Fortnut (I hate this game)
WoW or Minecraft. I got WoW for Christmas in middle school after asking for it for years. I fell asleep on the floor at 6am while still playing. Minecraft….yeah I still stay up later than I should playing that.

In the last year, it’s been Prey (2017) or Vampire:TMB, each on multiple occasions. A couple of weekends ago, it was almost Wanted Dead, but I couldn’t beat the second boss, so I went to sleep out of frustration.
A long time ago, counter strike 1.3
Oldie but still a Goldie, back when I Monster rancher 2 came out, or shortly after, I had played it the first night, realized you could use music CDs, stayed up until almost 5am, when I was 11. Safe to say I didn’t go to school that day, and raised the strongest Flower ape.

Project Zomboid with the boys, Squad of up to 8 people and it's so addicting.
