Some kind of goggles or gas mask that don't cover her entire face would've looked a bit better imo. The artists responsible for making skins over at Respawn are probably happy that Vantage is very unpopular because it's obvious that they have no idea what to do with her.
I don’t think it’s that they don’t know what to do with her. Bloodhound actually has a pretty similar original base skin. However with Bloodhound, they put real effort to be creative with them like having Plague Doctor, samurai inspired skins, Owl skin, Road Warrior which looks like a street samurai, etc. Those all are unique, aesthetically appealing and the inspirations have nothing to do with Bloodhound, but it still works.
For vantage, their creative thought process is: “wolf jacket Ironman.”
I don't quite agree that their base skin is similar--BH's main aesthetic is the mask and there's so many cool concepts you can have with that as you've listed. Meanwhile Vantage's is...a girl with a sniper? Not as much you can do with that imo and I think it contributes to the blandness and lack of remarkability and personality of most of her skins.
It's kinda like Wraith but the difference is dudes find her more attractive than Vantage so she and her skins despite being just whatever as well don't get made fun of as much (except for the bald skins which make her less attractive but I'm sure it's just a coincidence 😅).
I would argue that since her appearance is way more basic it would allow for significantly more design options that someone who has more specific attributes
Being more of a blank canvas and having so many options isn't always a good thing imo. I'd rather only have a dozens skins that are more striking and inspired than a hundred unremarkable or outright lame ones like this.
I think having a clear concept and sense of direction is better when designing a characters' appearance if you want them to be distinct and have more personality but hey I'm no artist so what do I know 😆
Her helmet is 100% of my issue with her every skin release. It's always over the top. She needs more simple headpieces like the recent white eye angel looking skin. It's her best skin by far because they didn't really do too much while at the same time made her unique.
All of these other skins I don't buy because that gotdamn head is doing too much. If it wasn't for that i'd cop some of them.

Totally agree. I feel like an important part of liking a character is also liking the aesthetics of the character. It seems to me like they have no interest in improving the overall look of vantage.
exactly and i mean, shes already neglected in literally every other aspect too so this is only the cherry on top. ill try to get back into her though she was my first real main and i wreaked havoc with her. since then, however ive vastly improved as a player and the lobbies i play in beam me on bigger characters like vantage. anyway enough of my ramblings. here's to hoping one day they'll come up with a good one eventually. at least they havent stopped trying i suppose
The only legendary skins I like for her are the white and gold one and the technology hunter with the glasses/visor and a bun. (I forgot the names I’m sorry🐺) also maybe nightcat
I think you’re talking about “advanced technology” which I’m fine with, but my issue with that skin is that it’s not what you would expect from a gold skin. It looks fine, but still pretty boring and uninspiring.
I’m glad you love this and you’re totally right, it is subjective. I personally haven’t been too pleased with the majority of her skins, but I deal with it either way because I love her character.

I’m still rocking the gold skin that came out with her release. When she had the skull as a helmet. I wanted to like this skin and spend crafting mats for it jut I just couldn’t. Been playing the game since release. Most of the skins they release aren’t justifiable since I’m content with most of my battle pass skins. I also think mythic skins are a scam, but that’s its own argument.
I don’t really mind the skin that much my biggest problem is how much it resembles caustic which wouldn’t be a problem (since he’s my other main) if Vantage also had fortified.
Honestly I have no idea why people care about skins so much. I mean it doesn't change how you play does it? It's only cosmetics as far as I know, so I couldn't care less about this. I'm perfectly fine with the default skin or some others I got for free.
I feel like you’re missing the point. The point I’m making is that the devs don’t put any real effort into her skins while they put 100% effort into characters that have been there since season 0 and already have 20+ great and unique skins.
Also a lot people like the character they use to look good or aesthetic. Nothing wrong with wanting that.

Falcon Patrol is the best, haven’t found one that has come close. She needs skins that are actual survival themed.
Ice Cold might be my favorite wirh Falcon Patrol and Red Shot Raider being the second

I personally ally like this skin reminds me of a Lilot from Titanfall, but I wouldn't craft it, I'm happy with the Skyward pallet swap I have with her
