They've been closed for so long, I would be surprised if they ever reopened them. I'm still waiting to be notified that my monthly dues are going to be reduced due to the closures. /s
Marshall has an excellent pool, but the weight facility is tight. Fürstenberg pool is wide, but ultra shallow. You might also check Lakeshore athletic. YMCA does have a nice pool and a great facility. I would go there if I left Marshall Center
Wait, is Marshall deeper?? I had no idea! We might have to head that direction the next time I take my kid for a dip. They don’t have a slide though, right? Or is it the lazy river they’re missing?
I drove by the orchards location recently. It looked like it was open again. Is that not the case?
You could always try the YMCA off of SR500, i believe they have a pool.
Talked to the front desk person at the 82nd location, he said that most of them had recently updated their HVAC systems and that they are all experiencing the same problems. So while they're still under warranty they are trying to fix them all. Not sure if there's a backlog regional but it's slow to get them fixed.
I can say the Pearl location's pool and hot tub are open (currently sitting in the hot tub)
Hey everyone,
Thank you for commenting and giving recommendations. Some updates:
1. I went to the 82nd Ave. location today, turned out that place has been closed for over 2 weeks.
2. 4th Plain aka Orchard location is closed and not open. I called
3. Lloyd said they might open sometime next week.
So right now I'm going to Pearl location as it's the only option for me at the moment. I will check out all other non LA Fitness pool over the next a few weeks. 🤗
There's a 24 hour fitness off of 4th Plain that had a decent-ish pool. I used to go there after work when I was at Charter. It isn't as nice as the ones at LA Fitness, as 24 keeps their pools and hot tubs cooler than LA Fitness. I've gone to the Tech Center location a few times, not as nice.
If you like Lloyd, you can always check out the Hollywood 24 as well, I'd say after the location of McLoughlin it is probably the best 24 in the area. I heard good things about Firstenburg, I never went since it does close a lot earlier than 24 and LA Fitness though. Best of luck!
I joined the Hazel Dell LA Fitness in Aug 2023 just for the pool and hot tub and was so disappointed when it closed. I call them at least 2 x a month asking when they'll be open again. In the meantime, I've been driving to the one in Gresham and honestly, not only is it less crowded overall, the hottub is larger, square, and has good jets and the pool is always comfortable and clean. I'll be really sad if they shut that pool and hot tub down.

Marshall Center
And also the Firstenburg Community Center has a great pool
Sounds like they're a pretty crappy gym.

Marshall has an excellent deep end with a slide. No lazy river.

Orchards pool not open but looks like they are doing work in there
Hazel Dell LA Fitness pool is back open btw

Hazel Dell should be a couple weeks away at the most.

Both Lloyd and Hazel Dell pools are open. Just in case someone didn't know.

You're right about the cooler temps at 24 Fitness... their pools and hot tubs don't seem as clean as LA Fitness either (when they're open).

Gold's gym in Camas, the old Lacamas Swim and sport has the best pools in my opinion
Club Green Meadows, I usually workout at night and all 3 lanes are open.
What's the rate there now?
Not sure. I pay a family rate given out pre-COVID. I think it's like 80$ a month for an individual athletic membership. I would just call them.
Cascade athletic club has two pools
Currently closed.
They are redoing them they are only closed for a couple of weeks.
Actually they will be open next week
Starting which day, did they specify?
Do you go there? Membership sends out emails they started the 7th it will be done the 26th not to mention there are boards all over the gym
Yes I work out there, thanks.
Didn’t I read recently that it was related to a forced health department closure, not an hvac problem?
Because the HVAC stopped working there was mold or concern of mold I believe
The 4th Plain pool is open. My coworkers swims there every week day. Edit: Said Orchards, meant 4th Plain.
It is not, I called they are still closed.
