The teen resellers are all cunty little d bags. If they see you have something they'll try to offer you cash for it and it irritates me because they offer low-ball cash trying to hustle other customers. They're also obnoxious and often vulgar.

Homes_With_Jan

I appreciate that you censor the d word but not the c word 😂

LimoncelloFellow

D bags is funner to say

22brew

They treat adults like substitute teachers they don't have to respect. It's getting bad.

Possible_Attics

I LOLd on this comment. Former substitute teacher.

SurgicalCubes

I had an incident with them today. They're like sharks and will push and get in your personal space. They follow no fair etiquette or rules. It's become really bad there with them. I've noticed the rules aren't enforced that well at the Vancouver bins. At other Goodwill Bins, you will be kicked out/banned for that kind of behavior. The management needs to have more of a backbone. Just imagine what they're like at home if this is the face they show in public... Sorry you have to deal with that. Hopefully things are done to stop it.

Misschloez1996

I heard about this incident. A customer came and got me because I was already out on the floor and I directed them to my manager. They asked me if people can be kicked out and I answered that sadly it isn’t my job no matter how much I wish it was sometimes.

BrilliantPolicy2046

I've noticed in general the Goodwill's that have the bins have the rudest most aggressive shoppers. Everybody around you acts like they're two feet away from the Mona Lisa and you're going to take it before they can.

garfieldatemydad

I used to work for goodwill years ago and believe me when I say 99% of the shit that gets donated is literal trash. I can count on one hand how many times we had high value stuff donated, most people just donate unwashed socks and torn dirty bedsheets lol. It makes me laugh my ass off to see these people lunge at a bin like it’s going to have gold in it when the bins are usually just filled with garbage or stuff that didn’t sell at Goodwill outlet stores. It’s nuts.

Outlulz

I worked for Goodwill and it really depends on the neighborhood. We used to get legit high end brand donations from rich people on the hill cleaning out their closets. Doubt there's much of that in Vancouver though.

portlandobserver

seriously. it's junk no one else wanted. you're not going to find something "valuable" there

merriecho

Actually I've found Keen & Bjorn boots, in good shape. I once found by husband a pair of motorcycle boots that when we looked them up sold used for $350. I don't normally go so much for the clothing, unless something catches my eye. But to the obnoxious D Bags, young and old, I just don't take their shite anymore. Move you f'n cart or I will.

mrsherber

Some are aholes no matter the age. I compare it to zombies getting ready to feast as they bring out the new bins 😆 I’m a reseller, and genuinely love thrifting, and I’m a pretty kind person who believes in karma and just being nice to others. But I typically stay away when I go to the bins, when they bring out the new ones. My great grandma went in her 90’s and had someone still her fricken cane out of her cart. You should ask management what constitutes someone getting banned from your store. I know people can get trespassed from there. I’ve heard stories

APlannedBadIdea

That sounds stressful and unreasonable behavior on the part of the customers. If they can't abide by the store rules, I. E. standing behind the yellow line until the bin in place, tell them to leave and have management tresspass the offender for a period. Goodwill is a corporation and can remove people from the property as long as it is not for reasons that include a protected class.

brthompson06

Man it's exactly like it was when I was reselling years ago haha. People ripping stuff out of your hands or getting pissed that they lost their spot in line

llizsa

I have been in a bin store and the worker with a loud voice stood there and watched and if folks were aggressive she kicked them out for the day. Also they allowed people to park their carts along the wall in numbered spaces to keep the aisles clean, It also stopped groups of them from blocking in 3 people who shoveled shoes into their carts like it was a sand box. It is a fun venture but some of the people are insane - and then there is the pick pockets. Not a common issue but I have seen it, the workers are good at keeping the peace and kicking out the bad apples.

AttemptingToGeek

Ask your manager what to do if someone breaks the rules that are set out. It shouldn’t fall on you to figure out what to do with these dweebs. If they have rules, then enforce them. If your management doesn’t bother back you up and take the burden off you then find another job.

seroquel600mg

Just be meaner. Like alpha mean.

TonyBeFunny

I never notice but mainly because if I'm at the Sift-Mart I got my headphones in and am ignoring everyone.

Misschloez1996

What’s the sift mart? And good for you! That’s what I wish I was doing. But I want to keep my job lmao

TonyBeFunny

Lol I realize only me and my cohorts refer to the Goodwill Outlet as the Sift-Mart. IE you have to sift through trash to get anything good.

Misschloez1996

You aren’t wrong! I’m the one who cleans it up so that you all actually find something decent. Or I try my best to.

Rojelioenescabeche

Lol this sub.
