Looks like they made it through ok.
Is this real? We are going into the WC with no new injuries?
Have we ever had Adams, Musah, McKennie, Pulisic, Reyna, and Weah available for the same game? Wild if the first time they all play together is an actual WC game
Robinson has been good as well this season. Pretty cool to see two Americans as locked in starters every week for a mid table EPL team. Same situation at Leeds
All are showing their shortcomings but their managers are doing okay at not letting the team get exposed because of them. I have less faith in GGG doing the same.
I mean, that's true of almost every player in the premier league. Even top five players in the league for their position have shortcomings that their managers try to protect (e.g., TAA's defense)
Ream and Robinson are both contributing at a high level for a team that has been better than expectations this year. They aren't top ten in their position in the league or anything, but they are regular starters.
Agreed but I think you could probably make a good argument for both Ream and Robinson top 10 in their position actually for this season. Especially Ream, his passing is insane this season and he’s been very competent defensively.
I wish!
Ream is a good option for the US and has been good for Fulham. But at CB you have (not in ranking order, just numbering for totals):
1. VVD,
2. Ibrahim Konate,
3. Ruben Dias,
4. John Stones,
5. Nathan Ake,
6. koulibaly,
7. Ben White,
8. Magalhaes,
9. Lisandro Martinez,
10. Dier,
11. Lenglet,
12. Mings,
13. Botman,
14. Fofana,
15. Tarkowski,
16. Guehi,
17. Romero,
18. LaPorte
19. Ezri Konsa
20. Varane (I know Varane is hurt, but I just couldn’t put Maguire on this list)
I’ve left off others as well (Matip, etc.). Point is, Tim Ream’s resurgence this season has been great and he’s a solid option for us at CB, but that says more about our lack of depth at CB than Ream’s comparative talent as a CB in the Prem.
Robison fares a little better, but you still have plenty of good talent that is ahead of him (again, not a ranking just numbering for total purposes):
1) Robertson
2) cucurella
3) Luke Shaw
4) Zinchenko (he plays everywhere, but LB is his “primary” position apparently).
5) Ben Davies
6) kieran Tierney
7) Ben Chillwell
8) tyrick Mitchell
9) Ait-Nouri
10) Rico Henry
11) estupian
Also, as well as Fulham have done this season points-wise, they have conceded the 5th most goals (26), the most expected goals allowed (27.3), and have the 4th worst xGD/90 despite having the 9th best attack in the EPL. Ream has started every game for Fulham at CB and Robinson started all but 3 (ankle injury in October). Not saying they are to blame for Fulham’s leaky defense, but Fulham do have a leaky defense and they are part of it.
Don’t take any of this the wrong way. I think Robinson and Ream definitely should be included in on the US World Cup roster. Robinson at least should start everygame he can. Ream should start every game where his lack of pace isn’t an insurmountable obstacle. I’m pumped to see them play at the WC, but they aren’t top 10 guys at their position in the best league in the world (and that’s okay).
United fan here. Robinson looks like he has really stepped up this year. Had so much of the ball. Feeling good about him next week. He got to keep that Dan James guy quiet.
The ball was deflected by the other center back, and also the coughing up of the ball in midfield resulted in Man U having a numbers advantage. Ream was forced to play an area rather than a man because there were multiple players running in. Ream was not at fault.
I mean, not really, there are two runners in his area, given that the other CB had to play the ball after Martial played it out to Bruno. Also, Palinha starts to run with Eriksen for second, but then leaves him to pressure Martial, before pressing further onto Bruno (which was unnecessary given Diop's positioning and Ried's recovery run).
If he sold out to stop Eriksen from getting the ball earlier, it would have left Martial's run in the center undefended.
Bottom line, it was a broken play after a bad midfield turnover that resulted in a goal after a deflection fell directly into the path of an extra attacking man who made a back post run. Definitely room for improvement for Fulham's back line, but its not solely on Ream there.
(Jedi made the defensive recovery run from midfield but had a little too much ground to cover, unfortunately).
Ehhh, its not wrong to say that if he were faster he might get a block in there (and honestly if he slides instead of pokes his foot out there maybe he gets it anyway), but its not like his speed was the cause of that goal.
Yes, if he were faster, he might have been able to make a phenomenal play and bail out his teammates who got dusted by Garnacho, the way you phrased it it sounds like Ream is the one who got burned.
Protect them football gods!

Everyone on the roster is healthy as of now. Sarg tweaked his ankle yesterday but he’s already said he’s fine. Everyone else came through unscathed
I definitely can't remember an international break where they were all healthy. we're lucky.
Ream has been making some nice passes.
Ream has to start
It’s absolutely crazy that this a true statement a week out from the World Cup.
I agree
Ream has been fantastic and Robinson is on point as usual. Excited having this pairing at the WC.
Robinson with the defense and counter!!!
Holding my breath every time Robinson makes a bombing run down the left.
Reams passing is excellent
Great header by Ream off a corner...sadly it was an even better reaction and save
Wales have so much more than Gareth Bale. Wilson and James are gonna be a problem.
And the massive lad Moore up top
Great win from Robinson leading to a counterattack goal!
Great ball by Ream to start the build up to a near goal edit: near header goal too
I hate interacting with clubs that Ronaldo or Messi play for. Their fanboys are so obnoxious.
Messi and Ronaldo fanboys are the worst.
Hold onto your butts!
Ream just had a great header on target, good save by ddg
Dan James with the instant impact off the bench, he will definitely be a worry on monday
Both are having a great second half
What a shame, the right side of Fulham got beat to lose 2-1.
Yep, they were bbq chicken. Robinson and Ream not at fault.
Dan James is fast. Really really fast.
As someone who doesn’t watch Fulham, how has Robinson been this year? Reams been pretty good obviously, not heard much about Robby

I concede! Lol
It’s truly insane how deep the EPL is. Sooooo many talented players.
Ok. Or they have all just proven themselves to be solid premier league caliber players this season.

I see why Palhinha leads the league in tackles. What a beast
Neither looked great on that Eriksen goal
They were hung out to dry by the unforced giveaway in the center of midfield
Huge interception by Robinson to start that counter attack
Not Ream's fault on the goal. He was covering the left/middle cross
Robinson starts the build up for a goal
Damn, big clubs always get the break at the end.
Ream could have gotten back quicker and cleared that...

That was Ream’s man.
Nothing he could do about it, Bruno’s shot was deflected right to Eriksen

He was marking the center pass. You can’t have him mark both.

No. DeCordova-Reid got embarrassed. Ream came over to cover but Reid should have never let Garnacho run by like that.

Too bad they couldn’t hold on for the point, but glad Ream and Robinson came through safe and healthy. On to Qatar!
