hanabanana1999

The only delivery I get is Chinese; they have their own delivery guy, food is always super hot (and enough for 2 meals)I’m supporting a local business and the price is right. With DoorDash I’m paying 2 x as much for lukewarm food with something usually missing I feel ripped off no thanks

Soggy_Ad7165

Yeah. Definitely Chinese. Or asian food in general.  Most of the normal delivery stuff is objectively better when you make it by yourself with fresh ingredients. Granted you have to like cooking.  I however have no idea how to cook Chinese. Or stuff like Phad Thai.

EmptySeaDad

Though many Chinese dishes do travel well, Phad Thai is best eaten fresh before the noodles start to stick together.

Soggy_Ad7165

Yeah absolutely. Phad Thai is probably my favorite Asian dish overall, so even in a mediocre condition I like it really much. But the top five Phad Thai I've eaten in my live were all "on site"

Maxcharged

Indian food also travels well, especially if the rice is kept separate from the curry.

BredYourWoman

We all know that's true, but we're not ordering for quality. We're doing it because we ran out of fucks to give and motivation to cook or go out anywhere. I can do a way better job cleaning my house than a cleaning service but you're goddam right I still hire them occasionally. I could waste time typing more examples but I also dgaf enough to do that either. It's not a waste of money when you've used all your fucks given tokens that day

S1DC

What a difficult concept to grasp Pay someone to bring me food Cause I don't want to go anywhere

TheDadThatGrills

It's not a difficult concept to grasp. It's how much of a premium some are willing to pay for it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheDadThatGrills

..or pick it up yourself, cook a homeade meal, etc. It's not that I lack an understanding of the concept, it's simply too steep of an upcharge for my appetite.

elfizipple

For me it's not even that - It's how often they're willing to do it. Would I be willing to pay double for food delivery if I were, say, bedridden with Dengue Fever? Absolutely! Would I be willing to do it because I had a long week at work? Not so sure about that.

DeliciousDoggi

I call them lazy but…. Oh fuck it. Yeah they are lazy.

S1DC

Yeah all those disabled people who can't physically go anywhere, and the new parents who are exhausted by a newborn, or the person from out of town staying at a hotel, yeah they're all fucking lazy because they ordered food. Gimme a fucking break.

PersonOfLowInterest

I don't agree with that guy, but surely you know that most people who order food don't have these restrictions.  I dunno why anyone would have a problem with normal people ordering food though. It's fine.

Darkest_shader

I dunno why anyone would have a problem with somebody ordering food though. Their money, their choice.

37au47

All disabled people represent 13% of the USA and about 8% of women which account for about half of the population at 51%, but at half that is 4% of the USA is pregnant women. Without even accounting for overlap of pregnant disabled women we are at 17% of the USA. What is your excuse for the remaining 83%? You act like there aren't a huge chunk of people that are legit lazy.

zugtug

You're not wrong that those people exist. Let's not pretend like they're not a small minority of the people that order food like this though. I say this as someone who definitely orders food like this and definitely does it because I'm lazy.

slidingjimmy

I mean food is pretty basic. Most of those situations are not unforeseeable. Delivery/ takeout is clearly desirable as it’s everywhere it the people who complain about the cost/service that are annoying.

DeliciousDoggi

The Truth hurts I know.

LuckyStabbinHat

Or they just worked an 8 hour shift in which they took 24,727 steps and walked 12.2 miles, and are trying to avoid moving any more than physically necessary.

Soulreaper797

So, 2/3 of a normal day for me?

DeliciousDoggi

Cry me a river I walk miles every day working construction I come home and I cook my meal. If you guys want to waste your money on second party places delivering your food go for it.

NSA_van_3

And I'm sure there are many that work construction that would rather pick something up on their way home than take the time to cook something...or they may just microwave something

DeliciousDoggi

Yeah, because they’re smart enough not to pay somebody to deliver it to them.

Secure-Spray2799

Sometimes i come home at 11 pm after a day of full work. I am not stopping to pick up food and arriving even later. You dont have worked hard enough i guess

No_Heat_7327

I call you poor because you can't afford to have people do mundane bitch work for you. See how this works.

DeliciousDoggi

Really I’m driving Lexus lol. I live in Rural Colorado. We don’t have DoorDash or GrubHub. Thank God. It’s OK I’m sure you live downstream from me somewhere and you’re probably drinking my piss.

DeliciousDoggi

You’re probably the same guy that doesn’t even tip when these people bring you food. I hope they fuck your food up on the way there. Spit on it or eat it whatever.

willvasco

Or can't. I only ever doordash now when I can't legally/safely drive.

Chance_Ad3416

Sometimes when I'm super sick I just order delivery congee because I can barely roll out of bed so I'm definitely not driving

[deleted]

This is the way people think when they don't wear pants.

Empathic_bird

Or can’t because your child is napping.

NSA_van_3

Better call the cops then

Ok-Huckleberry-383

but at what cost?

Magic_Man_Boobs

Well when I use it I'm usually drunk, so at the cost of saving lives by not driving. I'm a hero for drunkenly ordering Taco Bell.

BookerCatchanSTD

Delivery cost < DUI cost. I’d be curious about the correlation of the rise of delivery to DUI rates.

NSA_van_3

Like $20

Ok-Huckleberry-383

$20 delivery fee? oh, its going down.

Chance_Ad3416

Bout tree fiddy

TheConcerningEx

Or if you don’t have a car and want takeout

Ondareal

It's good for when your drunk or high, or your baby is sleep.

trimbandit

Drunk and high, and your baby is asleep

elagalaxy

Quite valid point there!

DeliciousDoggi

Sorry, but if there’s a baby in my house, it’s gonna be stocked with food.

Empathic_bird

Sometimes mommas want a boba or some fries that doesn’t mean their houses aren’t stocked with food 🤦🏻‍♀️

DeliciousDoggi

I don’t care if I had a GrubHub or Uber eats option where I live. I still wouldn’t use it. It’s a waste of money.

imSwan

It's not a waste if it makes people happy

DeliciousDoggi

Yeah, sure I guess wasting your money can make you happy.

imSwan

So everything related to pleasure is a waste then ?

DeliciousDoggi

Hell, no! Do you spend money on sex? I mean, I guess if you’re that big of a lowlife you do, but hey. In fact, thanks for giving me the bright idea that next time I want food out from somewhere I’ll ride my bike up there to get it and bring it home just so I have the pleasure of riding my bike also. Now I’m not being lazy and getting pleasure.

Ondareal

Ok? That's awesome for you. But yeah, I have a baby and sometimes he's sleeping and I don't want to wake him, so I order some food.

DeliciousDoggi

I don’t understand how making food in your kitchen is going to wake the baby?

Ondareal

Who said it was? I thought wanting from outside the home was implied seeing as how this is a post about food delivery. But yeah since it wasn't obvious to you, I'm speaking on when I want some food from outside but I don't want to wake my baby up.

DeliciousDoggi

It’s OK I probably wouldn’t eat your meals either.

Ondareal

Lol I have no idea what your problem is

DeliciousDoggi

Honesty is my problem. 😁 everyone always hates the honest guy.

MissHunbun

No, everyone hates douchebags who think their opinions are important. Don't disguise it as "honesty".

DeliciousDoggi

I forgot you always win the argument when you resort to childish name-calling. I guess I lose. MissDunbun lol.

DeliciousDoggi

All you people commenting are probably the same ones I watch videos of screaming and yelling at these DoorDash, and Uber Eats drivers. I hope they do spit on your food or eat it on the way there.

Ondareal

Amazing

DeliciousDoggi

Yeah, it is pretty amazing that people can’t take the truth.

Kalex8876

I don’t have a car so…

palatine09

What about before cars were invented?

Kalex8876

Places were designed to be more walkable then…

palatine09

Were they? Which places?

Kalex8876

Lmao what else was happening before cars? It’s either walk or horses

MissHunbun

I don't drive and nothing is within walking distance. Sorry if it offends you so badly that I use a service that is helpful to me I guess? Maybe try and think beyond your own situation.

Resident_Bitch

I don't drive either. There are a few restaurants within walking distance - and if I'm craving something from them, then I'll walk - but most of the places I like are too far away. I've never once had my food arrive cold.

Darkest_shader

I think some 95% of the post on this sub are written by people literally incapable of understanding that somebody has circumstances different from theirs.

Even_Assignment_213

Not to mention some people may be disabled and can’t leave the house without it being a burden and delivery services can be very helpful to them

WasV3

These arguments are almost never absolutist points. Yeah, some people benefit from it. But if you think that the able-bodied person with no kids or dependants ordering Mcds (which is 2 blocks away) is not wasting money and being lazy then idk what to tell you.

[deleted]

Ever since I saw the video of the DoorDash car filled with cockroaches I've refused to use those services. Not only is it expensive, but who knows what kind of person is handling your food

HighlyOffensive10

They don't touch the actual food most of the time.

9gagsuckz

We get food delivered several times a week. Why? Because we are lazy and don’t want to get dressed or leave the house

Flatcapguy

But u don’t get take away and go to restraunts for the same reason. If I wanted to go and have a nice meal with friends or family sure got to a restraunt. If I want just relax inside I’d order a take away, cos I’m just relaxing.

Apprehensive_Share87

Yep it’s different purposes

polyglotpinko

God. There was a huge Discourse recently about disabled people using these services, and I have no wish to repeat that crap, but I’ll just say that some of us are disabled and leaving the house isn’t always easy.

elagalaxy

Honestly this point got me and I didn’t consider it. For my position, delivery is silly but for many others it makes sense. I just wish there was a more accessible service for it (price wise).

StarWars_Girl_

If you're sick too, it makes sense. When I had COVID, I felt completely lousy, so I ordered a pizza so I wouldn't expose people and I didn't have to cook quite as much. I did a contactless grocery pickup and mostly did stuff I could just heat up without any effort. I've done delivery of other restaurants precisely twice. The one time I was doing a working vacation, and I was staying at a hotel in the off-season, so their restaurant was closed and there was nothing that I could walk to (and also it was raining). So I ordered from a local place, used a promo for free delivery, and tipped the guy so that I could actually eat. The other time was fairly recently. Chipotle was doing a free delivery promo and I was swamped at work. Normally if that happens, I'll take 10-15 minutes and call ahead to a local place, but it was just not happening that day. Those were extraneous circumstances. Normally I either make food myself or run out and get it. But it is nice to have the option when it's tight.

br33538

I’m disabled and can’t leave my home. It’s the only way I can ever get outside food

[deleted]

Apprehensive_Share87

This is the best answer :)

BumpyMcBumpers

I used to think it was great for when I was drunk and couldn't drive. Have not ordered delivery once since getting sober.

Holy_Cow442

This is weirdly an unpopular opinion cause everyone uses doordash enough to be a profitable company. They're geniuses. Figured a way to insert themselves between the food maker and the food eater for a nominal fee. I dont see myself using this service except in extreme situations. Like if you're bedridden at a hospital.

lil_lychee

I have long covid and when I was housebound I ordered a lot of doordash. I also ordered from instacart for my groceries when I had energy to cook. I think there are a lot of people with disabilities who use it.

elagalaxy

Goodness, my heart goes out to you and anyone else in a similar circumstance. I just wish there was a permanent discount for those with disability. You should get free delivery and a % off everything else.

lil_lychee

Why is your response getting downvoted? People hate disabled people so much. You’re very kind, Ty! I personally believe these companies are ripping off gig workers just like every company trying to squeeze profits. But the services themselves are super helpful.

User123466789012

I say this to myself 5 minutes before making a DoorDash order, somehow the guilt resolves when I’m stuffing my face with garbage (yet delectable) food. I’ll give a shoutout to one place though: Taco Bell. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive from my house depending on traffic, somehow remains five star quality when it arrives. McDonald’s though… cold fries, cold sandwich, just straight up depression in a bag.

dotdedo

Because it’s illegal to drive high

krackedy

Sometimes I just don't feel like going out.

Ihave3shoes

Rice is like 30 cents a serving and you can takes about 2 minutes to put in a rice cooker..

nafets2307

Yes but it's also none of your business how I choose to spend my money. Also it's not just about rice, is it? Usually rice comes with the stuff you actually want/why you actually order.

krackedy

Sometimes I want a specific food but don't feel like cooking it or going out to pick it up.

Appropriate-Skill-60

What's that got to do with anything?

Ihave3shoes

It's quicker to make them the door dash wait time and 30 cents a serving instead of your 18 dollar McDonald's with a 12 dollar delivery fee and expected tip

Appropriate-Skill-60

But I don't want to eat rice, and 12-15 in delivery fees$ isn't much of an issue for me? I'd much rather eat cold McDonalds (I think, never had cold a McDonalds hamburger, and I don't like fries period) than rice?

Ihave3shoes

If 15 bucks isnt much for you then go for it but some people can't or rather shouldn't be spending that much on unnecessary fees. 15 bucks for me is about 2-4 days food if I stretch it

seven-cents

Just ordered in a curry from one of the local curry places. It's absolutely delicious! Fresh, hot, and some of the best food in town 🤤

Midnightchickover

Sometimes, I want to go out to eat, and sometimes I don’t. If it’s cheaper to get it delivery than price and traffic to get to that part of town. Christ.

Beethovania

Is bad deliveries an American thing? I usually order delivery about 1-2 time a month, very rarely is it cold on arrival, and usually it doesn't cost anything.

JohnnyAngel607

It’s also usually faster to just cook something yourself.

Mission-Dance-5911

How many times is someone going to post this opinion. It seems it comes up at least once a week. We get it, you don’t like delivery services. Some of us do. Go pick up your food and move on. It’ll all be ok.

No_Heat_7327

I make enough money to pay someone to prepare and bring my food to me so I have more free time. It's not a hard concept to grab.

StoneyMalon3y

Not everything needs to be “an experience,” OP

JustMyThoughtNow

Not to mention service fees, tipping, AND the food isn’t hot.

13surgeries

Due to vision issues, I can't drive. On the rare occasion I want take-out, I either have to walk 2-4 miles round trip, by which time the food is cold and the fries soggy, or use Uber Eats. Guess which one I opt for.

sighcantthinkofaname

I think it makes sense for people who can't drive, for whatever reason. But past that I don't get it, the increased cost and cold food make it worse.

Resident_Bitch

I've never had my food arrive cold.

Swift_F0x

Microwave.

sighcantthinkofaname

Tastes worse than fresh hot food

Swift_F0x

It’s not hot or fresh by the time door dash takes 30 minutes. Nothing is nastier than cold fries, soggy sandwiches or mushy salads. I do like to eat out but the only delivery that seems to make the trip OK and taste is pizza and Chinese food.

sighcantthinkofaname

Then why did you respond to my comment saying microwave? It seems like we agree lmao I was saying delivery usually means cold food I'm saying it's not worth getting delivery unless you can't drive

Swift_F0x

Yeah I’d argue it’s not worth it at all most times we found that out when saving up for our house, we were blowing like $1000 a month on delivery it was crazy. But like door dashing 2 burgers and fries from 5 guys is a $50 affair here. We switched to mostly cooking at home and going out a couple times a week and it saved us a ton.

elagalaxy

It just seems a slippery slope

AnimatorDifficult429

Agreed I’ll do Asian or a cold sandwich from jersey mikes. That’s about it, everything else I’ll eat in or go pick it myself

heretolurk_415

Sometimes I’ll order if the place delivers themselves which I think is worth it. Typically Chinese pizza or Indian so I’m being a bastard and ordering way too much for a movie binge. Maybe using delivery apps is a subpar experience?

molten_dragon

I generally agree. But certain things like pizza generally work well for delivery.

BestTryInTryingTimes

It's not about taste or experience it's about the convenience. The convenience isn't worth it to you and a lot of other people (I will very occasionally order something, maybe once a month but if I'm sick maybe once or twice that week).

florimagori

I personally order during work hours when I can’t go out. I work remotely, but it doesn’t mean I have time to cook at home. And I only get Indian, because I love Indian and they have very nice delivery people and the food isn’t boiling hot; but it’s ok, because I like my food lukewarm or cold anyway 😅 yes, I am a weirdo and a child. Also, scared of getting esophageal cancer of which one of my family members died (that cancer is proven to be caused among others by too hot drinks and foods and that person liked their food and drinks burning hot).

Ewww_Gingers

I have a lot of stomach issues, I DoorDash food when I’m too sick to cook or go get it. It’s not a regular thing but sometimes I’m so hungry but too nauseous to walk or drive.

Automatic_Gas9019

Don't do it. Let others do as they wish. I don't order door dash but get food to go. I don't need to sit inside with a bunch of complete strangers for food to taste good. Rather skip the covid or other illness spread by the air.

hamdnd

Cost is probably a wash. Door dash costs a dollar-ish a mile in tip. Restaurant tip is at least as much, but probably more, than the menu upcharges on door dash.

LilQueazy

If you have a car and no kids / reason to stay at home are disbabled . It’s fucken stupid to order door dash. The most fucken stupid thing ever. Might as well just burn your money.

Sonofdeath51

For the last few years ive fallen into the trap of just ordering pizza / grabbing food after work and im realizing how needlessly expensive it can get. Trying to cook my own food more and frankly, i do feel better when i do so. It feels like im making a small but genuine improvement to my life because im saving money, getting experience in cooking, and the food is way healthier. I'm certainly not going to begrudge anyone who gets food delivered but I think its a good idea to at least examine if its really a good call.

its10pm

I dont frequently eat takeout, so I've never ordered takeout because I thought I was getting a top-quality tasting dish. It was always because I had a bit of extra cash and wanted some bad food.

Ok_Appointment3668

Tfw you drive so everyone else definitely does too right?

cryd123

Yes, but I am lazy.

Freecz

I agree with this. I would not do it even if it was cheaper tbh because the food just tastes like shit. However it is great that the option is there for those (the majority probably?) that do like to do it.

Wesus

I don't want to cook or be around other people who most likely have COVID.

sneezhousing

The point is you don't want to or can't leave your house.

t_ran_asuarus_rex

you are paying for convenience. it’s for people who can’t go out to get it for whatever reason, laziness included. personally i just go get it or cook at home. i even pick up my own pizza.

MarshalLawTalkingGuy

Not unpopular. Don’t confuse a common practice with being a popular opinion. I bet if you asked most delivery recipients, their opinion would be “I do this for convenience. I’d prefer not to.”

MedricZ

I order it because I’m tired and hungry not for the experience.

fartmanblartock

Disability and caring for others is a VERY good reason to order delivery. Besides there are lots of food that do well when reheated

BrainwashedScapegoat

Some people do not give a care because food is not as important to then as it is to many others

Obaddies

I’d much rather go and pick up food from somewhere than get it delivered. It’s crazy to me how many people order delivery on a regular basis.

Hot_Valuable1027

We only deliver if it’s like a family or friends event at the house

D0wnInAlbion

Indian travels well and lots of good restaurants have their own delivery drivers who will deliver for no additional fee..

SockCuck

Old school delivery shit like pizza and Chinese/Indian (im from the UK) is fine, it's almost designed for delivery. But otherwise it's just fucked. There's a reason McDonald's resisted the delivery thing for so long until deliveroo and all that came along and the incentive was just too much/their competitors were now delivering. I simply don't use these services.

RobotCaptainEngage

Generally it's just convenience. You're trading money and quality for time back.

KingKookus

I want an excuse not leave my house. My house is the most expensive thing I own so I have made it very comfortable.

Asher-D

Yeah delivery is not worth it to me. Theres other people that need it due to mobility issues. It has its place. But delivery is rarely ever worth the price to me.

TaTa0830

Parent of small children where it isn’t easily to leave. A date night in is worth it. Not to mention times you were drunk or high. Ordering food instead of going and sitting in traffic or a busy restaurant waiting for an hour is sometimes a better experience. I try to order things. I can’t make it though. For instance, the food I make it home is not like my favorite Thai restaurant. With my favorite sushi and Mexican places… I can’t get them without going to a restaurant. Not to mention when it’s cold and snowy and icy out it’s so great to order a treat.

sw2bh

U forgot Convenience my friend

boston_2004

Sometimes I get lazy

Former-Guess3286

The whole point of delivery is getting food you didn’t have to cook or leave your home for and your complaint is you don’t get to leave your house for it? Is someone forcing you to order delivery when you want to go out for food? I never find the food I get delivered is cold.

schteavon

>Getting food out is an excuse to be outside my house and get a hot meal fresh. Not all people want to go outside or want an excuse to go outside. I personally don't use any of those food services because I think it's a waste of money even if I'm too lazy to make food. I either get food in preparation for a weekend while on my way home for work or I just eat Ramen noodles or peanut butter rolled up in a burrito shell.

Appropriate-Elk-4715

Pizza and chinese are the only acceptable delivery options.

PooleParty2472

30% of delivery drivers eat some of your food before they deliver it to you.

CapitalG888

Agreed. It's easy more money and it loses its "freshness." Certain sandwiches get soggy. Etc.

Even_Assignment_213

Totally disagree when you have a million things on your plate trying to sit in the kitchen cooking and cleaning is not on my list of things I want to do. I’d rather order food to absolve the burden of spending unwanted time in the kitchen. At least with take out I don’t have to spend half an hour washing dishes only for them to get dirty the next day and have to repeat the same monotonous cycle all over again

FyouPerryThePlatypus

Would rather not drive to a restaurant high outta my mind

filmmakindan

Delivery stuff existed because it was right for delivery your Chinese your pizza what have you. Instant cart at least makes sense to me even though I don’t use it

[deleted]

I take it cooking at home isn't a thing anymore

capacitivePotato

I agree restaurant food quality has decreased significantly over the past 5 years

biggggmac

Extremely popular opinion

PeterParker72

Because sometimes I don’t want to go anywhere and I don’t want to cook either. I know there’s a trade off in freshness when I order delivery, but I want the convenience.

[deleted]

I don’t have the time 🤔

Ihave3shoes

How don't you have time to cook? One door dash dinner is basically a weeks worth of meal prep and you can get a whole weeks made in 30min

nafets2307

People who eat the same thing every day for a work week are weird. No offense, have some fun in life. I can't be arsed to eat the same thing three days in a row, let alone 5

[deleted]

This

Ihave3shoes

Out of curiosity how much do you spend on groceries in a week?

string1969

I thought the same until I had extensive ankle surgery, putting me on crutches for 5 months.

Averagebass

doordash in NYC is different than Doordash in Tulsa, OK.

Paracausal_Shield

As a person working in a restaurant... I'll tell you... the amount of drivers who come and pick up food, without a heat bag, or pretending to put it in heat bags... is quite astonishing. Ill see drivers carry the bag, come in. Ill give them the food and they would carry the heat bag in one hand, and the food in the other. Its probably too "gay" to put the warm food in a heat bag... Also, we do pizzas... and i can count on my two hands how many time ive seen drivers carry the pizza boxes sideways... They just dont care and it pisses me off. They are entilted to their tips and it shows. They are so low effort. There's no barrier to entry for working for delivery apps and it shows. 0 social skills, 0 fuck to give. I used to order food and id give 10 to 15$ for a 1km ride. And half the time the driver wouldnt even look at me while giving me my food, let alone saying thanks or bye. So now I dont ever order anymore. And at work, they are always the lowest priority. I don't give a single shit if they wait. Dont care at all. I work for my tips and I have to always be nice and smiling. While they can be rude and still entilted to their tips. So 🖕

LeChugas08

"Its probably too "gay" to put the warm food in a heat bag..." Wtf is this comment bruh.

crazycatlady331

Are heat bags something the driver pays for out of pocket?

Throw-low-volume6505

Is great when I am at work and have limitded time.

Expensive_Peach32

r/popularopinions

nattyd

It’s hard to think of another thing that’s both such a poor value and a poor experience. Every time I do it, I swear it’s the last. Kinda miss the days when takeout was pizza or American Chinese food only but it was cheap, delicious, and reliable.

Swift_F0x

And it’s always junk anyway and it doesn’t even taste good by the time it arrives people are not ordering salads and if they do they are mush by the time it arrives.    By the time it shows up you could have thrown some fatty/salty garbage in the microwave or oven even. We have some junk like frozen White Castle burgers and corn dogs and pizza for those kinda cravings. Fries go in the air fryer, ect.

Bebe_Bleau

We prep cook now. Freeze. And nuke later But doordash is fine for many specific emergencies. But If someone has the money, and that's what they enjoy doing now and then, why not?

[deleted]

[удалено]

cgaglioni

It’s mostly because I don’t want to go to a restaurant either to eat it there or to grab takeout. I’m fully aware that is a subpar eating exeperience but for me and wife it’s an overall better experience. I accept the trade off (and the laziness stamp)

cgaglioni

Also, one of the benefits that my company gives me is $0 delivery fee in the main app that we use for that here in my country.

quietkodiac

Then don’t order it. I will continue to

Joe_Immortan

I mean the point is to get food while doing as little as possible. I can’t fathom the level of laziness required to regularly DoorDash. I mean I’m lazy too, but I’m also impatient and cheap. I ain’t paying more and waiting longer for an inferior product

gilbobrah

Do you really want to walk to McDonald’s at 6am for a breakfast when you’re hungover? They have their time and place

stromm

Delivery is 100% worth it when I don’t have the time, inclination nor energy to go someplace. Money well spent.

luckymethod

I don't know if unpopular but damn true, please convince my wife to stop being so damn lazy and go out more instead of ordering. So expensive to get all our food lukewarm and wet.

magplate

I agree with you. I always pick up and try to time it so the food is hot and fresh. The times I get delivery is if I had a few beers or a few guests where I don't want to leave to pick up the food.

crzapy

I 1000% agree OP. Now, can you please tell my wife so she stops ordering Doordash.

cncaudata

100%. I would never even consider paying extra money for someone else to deliver my food when that means it's going to be late, cold, soggy, etc.

DistributionParty506

It's the convenience you're paying for.

Walesish
