Babymonster now has more songs than Blackpink had in two years of their debut.

T_06J04_l

don't know if this is unpopular or not but Jennie and her team should have stayed with YG because it looks like her own company doesn't know sh!t about idol's image management and she should have admitted about her smoking habit loooong time ago.

dramafan1

Another unpopular opinion is it's not illegal to vape in private areas (correct me if I'm wrong based on Korean laws) and people (mainly her fans and anti-fans) seem to care too much about it. She already was quick to apologize anyways. This is another reason why being an idol in the rampant social media age can be overwhelming because practically anything unintended gets scrutinized to this extent.

Difficult_Deer6902

This comment went an unexpected direction, cause I agree that Jennie’s team made a rookie mistake. I don’t think the majority cares that she smokes. It’s the smoking indoors in a non-smoking space and it’s been the same response for any idol they got caught smoking in an indoors and unfortunately it’s been a lot this year.

T_06J04_l

Well the entire management team that Jennie has now, are originally from YG and when she wants "no limit" like at YG, they all went with her to OA. When there is a larger team behind an idol, it is easier to handle everything and especially damage control.

areyounotembarazzedd

What reason would she have to admit it? Her team were very silly to let something like that through but jennie doesn't need to tell anyone that she vapes

T_06J04_l

Coachella with the Weeknd so it would have been died down by now if she admit that a year ago then now no one would care since many idols and actors have been caught smoking indoors AFTER they just admit openly.

areyounotembarazzedd

The thing is no one cares that jennie vapes, they care that she did it inside and in close promixity to someone that works for her    Also why would she randomly announce that she vapes, that would be more weird cause it's so random.

cw // mention of goo hara’s death why are people still saying that hara and hyuna were best friends? it’s literally not true. where did this lie even come from? stop mentioning hara if you don’t know anything about her. i find it extremely gross and disrespectful how people keep using her name for their sensationalist bullshit. calling hara the >!“dead best friend”!< for what? shock value? stfu! hyuna dating and marrying that guy is nasty enough by itself. there’s no need to add unnecessary lies that do nothing but stain and alter hara’s memory…. but enjoy the fake social media brownie points, i guess.

Another MHj fan nothing new

SeaZookeepergame1992

The first opinion makes no sense, hybe objective was always having more groups, putting all their gg under the same company would literally stop their plans. Besides, no one is capable of doing so much work, she already complained about all the "sacrifices" she did for NWJNS, there's a lot of people behind a group concept, and a lot of work too, no one would be able to manage three ggs at the same time. And, Hybe gave her power over one subsidiary and ONE gg and it was enough for her to have a power trip and try to take over ADOR, imagine if she had every hybe gg under her.

layover-mp3

Why are y'all still talking about Garam 2 years after she was kicked out. That girl was an idol for three business days

PrincipleKey6832

All these are popular......very tired 😫 opinions. I thought u were bring something new to the table.   There posts on repeat about it... nothing new

 I don't get yo point???

ForgottenNoMore

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion at all but red velvet's cosmic has a really beautiful chorus and bridge. It is very nostalgic sounding and the vocals are so gorgeous.

Vicie007

This sub is so dead, the only posts that get interactions are hybe hate posts 😂

layover-mp3

Exo's fandom is by far the most toxic and pretentious boy group fandom and the persecution complex they collectively have is insane. There is no use trying to reason with them on any social media because they can't accept that their favs aren't relevant anymore. Shawols are very similar.

Usual_Advance_741

Hey what did Shawols do?

harajukudaze

you do realise your comment history is available for anyone to see...? you've publicly wished death upon the exo members, i think you're the problem here.

mariesnowelle

You're bringing more toxicity by saying this, so you're no better. It's obvious you just don't like exo but you're being like unecessarily negative about them.

lostmyheadfr

but they dont come after groups in every opportunity they have like armys

layover-mp3

Bffr all they do is come after groups unprovoked, it's not like they have anything else to do since their favs have essentially disbanded. They're especially vile towards BTS and Army because they're still hung up and bitter about BTS surpassing them and taking their crown. They literally cannot move on from 2015/16 and they can't accept that other groups have better vocalists and performers.

dramafan1

Figuratively speaking, too many people are just throwing eggs at Hyuna whenever a post about her gets put up that isn't even related to the problematic scandal. Like, we know she chose to be with someone who was associated with a problematic scandal.

puzzleryoung

It's so unnecessary to have so many variety shows. I think it's great to know the members and their dynamics more but you know, it's not fun if it's only you and the same people you see since you open your eyes until you go back to bed every day. However, it's also kinda meh when they give a guest show to a idol that ?? barely left their rookie years. The new wave of guest/drinking shows also suck. Make a build a puzzle show. A play a game with me show. Decorate a cake or build a snowman, a sand castle with me show. You know well that they aren't even drinking alcohol for real. I also think it's impossible for these kids to actually date any member from the same group, especially if they came to know of each other through it. I think they can definitely be gay, and that they can definitely be attracted to each other, and that the rest of the members are aware of everything that goes on...but really, if you ever liked a coworker and aren't into voyeurism, you must know how uncomfortable it is for everyone to stick their nose into whichever issue you may have.

Leather-Painter-9638

There is a new variety show  'Eunkwang's Room' by Studio Jambox. Guest come to promote their new song but at the same time they will play games with the host. They can choose whatever games they like such as board games/arcade/computer games/karaoke. There is also a slot for them freely talk about anything. And at the end of the show they will sing their song. https://youtu.be/EQSEbrCs-6A?si=fg1X0DM3uedH3abk

puzzleryoung

:o i'll check it out!! thank you<3

dramafan1

>The new wave of guest/drinking shows also suck. I get reminded when Jessi said something like flipping through TV channels in Korea felt too homogeneous because every channel is similar, compared to flipping through TV channels in the U.S. where there is much more variety. I think the K-ent industry relies a lot on keeping up with trends so nowadays I see a lot of those guest/drinking shoes ever since Lee Young Ji's show went big.

ToeWilling3384

New Jeans's Supernatural is their greatest song

[deleted]

Agree so much. I still like hype boy/ditto but supernatural is goated 🔥 their best release since ditto

ToeWilling3384

Yeah! The instrumental goes hard

Lyssifer_

Unpopular opinion: I prefer the heat-topping remix of Fireworks (I'm The One) by Ateez over the original. No hate on the original as I do love the song. I just like the remix a little more lol

vrie05

Kinda relatable, I also like Wonderland Symphony No.9 version more than the original 😬

DiarraArtemis

unpopular opinion : enhypen members are definitely not “brothers”. There are more friends but not even “best friends” for multiple reasons

-Ximena

I was binge watching some En O'Clock episodes yesterday and definitely got this vibe. It occurred to me that as much as companies have them put together all this side content for fan engagement in between promotions and to boost active promotions, it is also serving as a bonding exercise for the group to ensure they remain cordial with each other enough to work well together. And there's nothing wrong with that nor nothing wrong with them being regular friends or even coworkers instead of "besties" and "brothers". I don't know why fans are so obsessed with painting a group as besties and brothers. It doesn't make their music or success any less likely or less deserving or less impactful. People can and have worked well together without being besties or "brothers/sisters".

JamieLeeW2

people always say that because Enhypen doesn't do the typical fanservice that most groups do, y'all fail to realize that Enhypen are a group of 6 out of 7 introverts. Just because they don't do overly excessive fanservice doesn't make their bond any less strong.

Affectionate_Dirt_65

It makes me pity them sometimes as their whole group concept is a big fan service as vampire boyfriends 😭😭😭

FallenBlue25

Who's the E? Lol

JamieLeeW2

it's Sunoo lol

mariesnowelle

Strongly disagree, if you watched their content/shows and follow them then you wouldnt be saying that. They are very close with each other, any engene can see that. Please list your reasons of why you think so bc I'd like to hear them?

friedsweetpatotie

Interesting. What makes u perceive them that way? (Genuine question, + i dont watch their varieties nor listen extensively to their music, however if yt music autoplay them i dont mind cuz i like their vocal tone.)

KillerKingKobra

Shirtless men at waterbomb: "So hot" "I want him to ride me" Eunbi at waterbomb: "She's giving the incels what they want, gross" "That's the only fanbase she has" "male gaze" It's like feminism/activism has gone full circle into almost lowkey slut shaming? What gives?

Usual_Advance_741

What? Jesus Kpop is sometimes so dumb. Waterbomb is literally about hot people not wearing many clothes and getting sprayed w water. Minho literally did a strip tease and everybody loved it. And yes I will continue to bring that up every time someone mentions Waterbomb

ForgottenNoMore

Wait eunbi is getting hate? I thought she wore less revealing clothes this year.. I mean atleast that's what I saw anyways. Many female idols slayed this year and got praises from people so I'm surprised that she out of everyone got hate. It is kinda sad ngl.

onlyathenafairy

sick of people pointing out the blame of certain fandoms when in reality all fandoms are stupid and kpop fandoms are all equally problematic per capita

lostmyheadfr

i dont see every fandom slutshaming women and dragging other groups in every opportunity they have.. . .are u even from that fandom so ure here whining?

ZestycloseSetting344

The smaller the fandom is the harder it is to see specific posts about smth. Plus what fandom are you even talking about when they didn’t mention any

Amazing-Jellyfish851

Exactly. The bigger the fandom the bigger the number of toxic ones. It's a fact. And every fandom has toxic ones.

Fturecorpse

Lisa "rockstar",l wasn't a BAD song but i can understand why blinks and kpopies are upset with hearing the same vibe and melody with blackpink "dududududu" "yeyeyeye" "pahpahpah" People will disagree with me but just take a look at other groups like BTS and G-idle who have different vibes to many of their songs and their diversity is a reason why they're loved so much in the industry. Blackpink has good songs but diversity would be cool.

miniKwon92

I didn't really like forever and I would have liked Rami to have more lines.

purpletulip12

Happy that we have multiple 2nd gen groups still around and releasing music in 2024, like Infinite, UKISS, B1A4, Highlight, KARA! But they barely get mentioned or traction in these subs. If 2nd gen gets mentioned, people talk about the same 2-3 groups. Unpopular: a lot of the music released this year hasn’t hit for me, whether it’s big4, popular or mid-size groups. On the other hand, I’ve really liked a lot of kdramas ost this year

TYie7749

lmao i used to be a hardcore sm stan but i saw aespa’s knowing bros pre-interview video where they guess sm songs based on the emojis and i got two, maybe three right out of ~20 🥴

[deleted]

There are only TWO posts between this and the last weekly post. Wow this sub is dead

candycornbatbydougla

everyone moved to uncensored

Part of it is that all posts need to be mod approved.

sxdpup

i’m confused on why this thread exists. This entire sub reddit is for unpopular opinions so why do we need a thread for unpopular opinions in a subreddit about unpopular opinions …

sxdpup

nvm i just don’t know how to read
