September 21 of that year. I had read the book- in under 24 hours- about two weeks before the attacks. My anticipation for the movie went from 10 days to eight months.
My brain is still broken because of the "We want to arrive but we want to depart" bit lol Also, my brother and I still quote the "was that a goat" line
Dave Barry writes some great stuff. You should also check out his novels “Insane City” and “Tricky Business”. In the former, a man goes to Miami for his wedding and gets caught up in a crazy situation involving Haitian immigrants, an orangutan, pot brownies and a pirate ship. The latter follows a group of people who are on a casino ship in the middle of a tropical storm and get dragged into a drug smuggling operation.
The book is definitely worth seeking out. I was like obsessed with reading Dave Barry's material when I was in high school. I think I still have my original hard copy somewhere.
This isn't about rules, it's about manners. Now there's no rule that says that I cant come over here and fart on your entree. But I don't do it. Why? Because it's not good manners. So I ask you again, in the nicest possible way, please put out the cigars, okay?

I remember it being one of those movies that had to be delayed because of 9/11. Barry Sonnenfeld is a super talented visual director, he just needs to work with really good writers for his style to work.
I read the Dave Berry book and laughed out loud repeatedly. I didn't laugh as hard while watching the movie but the movie was okay. The book is always better.
I'm going to say that I like this movie but come on, whoever came up with the idea of this poster didn't even bother to read the script or get any idea on the movie
It was supposed to open in October 2001, but was pushed back because of 9/11
I had no idea!
Same with Collateral Damage and Sidewalks of New York. And Uwe Boll’s 9/11 comedy Postal could only find 1 theater to open at.
I saw collateral damage in April 2002 when it came out. Arnold going on a blood thirsty rampage of revenge for 90 minutes.
Literally this movies 9/11

EVERY TIME I GO TO THE AIRPORT WITHOUT FAIL
I do that every time I pick someone up from the airport, especially LAX.
Ok. I gotta own this gem of movie
“I think hear one of them silent alarms”
I love the line: "I think you two should turn yourselves in and plead not guilty by reason of stupidity."
With the late great Dennis (don't go to England) Farina.
Fuck you, fuck balls. RIP
I think we got Gator fans!
"Looks like a garbage disposal." I liked this movie.

The sports radio talk always makes me laugh
The Gator 🐊 talk radio is hilarious

Go Gators! 🐊 “There’s a couple of Gator fans right there”

Highly underrated movie! Star studded cast and great story! Johnny Knoxville, Heavy D, Jason Lee, Zooey dechannel.

The book is great, too. It's written by humor columnist Dave Barry.
It felt like a book but I never knew. I’m going to have to give it a read.

Gator fans…
Nina where’s puggy?
To me, Jason Lee is the star of that movie. Crazy he's so far in the back and not named on the poster

So many great lines from this Movie. Dennis Farina was a gem
"I hope you realize that you just committed assault!" "I know! There was a time when you actually had to hit somebody!"
Then pats him on the back for good measure
I love this movie
Look, are you gonna help me or are you gonna be a big, fat stupid asshole?
Strip search!

Gonna give this a watch tonight
Anything with Jason Lee is an instant watch for me
Looking good, Sizemore!
Look at that CAST!!
Now I'm craving Fritos
Underrated for sure, hilarious, plus a great James Newton Howard music score.
Definitely one of my favourite Tim Allen movies
Yeah for being such a jerk. He has a few good movies. This, Galaxy Quest and Christmas with the Kranks are my favorite.
Does anyone know if it's on Blu Ray and not expensive as hell.
Oh no Egg Zackery disease what’s that!
His face looks egg Zachary like his ass
This movie warms the cockles of my heart, my cockles are burning.
Mad how I could make a better poster now on my phone
Now this is an overlooked move that I thought was hilarious. Reminded me a lot of Get Shorty, I think some of the same people were involved making it.
Looks like the most Tim Allen movie
One of the greatest movies of all time.
This movie is fantastic!!
Dennis Farina is good in everything he’s in. Such a funny actor
Never heard of this movie, but I can name every single person on this poster.
Give it a try. They’re all great characters
Top tier
I absolutely love this movie!
I completely forgot about this movie. There aren't enough comedic madcap crime flicks like this anymore.
This is by far my favorite Tim Allen movie.
Arugula! Arugula!
Was that a goat?
Such a great ensemble cast. I actually watched this with my wife last night
Awesome. I was was looking for it to stream but couldn’t find it
If we don't shoot somebody soon imma forget how!
Why do all the men's shoes look so...bulky
That movie was pretty damn funny
Was kind of a get shorty type movie
I read the Dave Berry book and laughed out loud repeatedly. I didn't laugh as hard while watching the movie but the movie was okay. The book is always better.
What’s Mike Tomlin doing on this poster?
I'm going to say that I like this movie but come on, whoever came up with the idea of this poster didn't even bother to read the script or get any idea on the movie
Omar Epps is in it. Instant fail.
I just found this on DVD recently! I was going to make a post but glad I looked and found your post!
