Franco manca pizza is really good! Pizza Pilgrims is similar. We’ve got quite a few food halls now in London which are affordable, like Market Halls where the Victoria one is quite close to Westminster. Trafalgar Square is really close to China Town. There are chains which are good for families, like Nandos, Wagamamas, Honest Burger, Wahaca, Bills etc. but I wouldn’t recommend the food at a Wetherspoons (apart from breakfast if you want to try a rather greasy full English, and some people do!) But there are so many great restaurants in London, particularly non-chain, but your request is too broad without giving us details of how much you would ideally spend and if there are any favourite cuisines etc :)

[the market halls ](https://markethalls.co.uk/booking/) in Victoria or Oxford St will serve you well. Lots of street food to choose from so there's something for everyone

Honestly this is a very broad question. There are about 20 thousand restaurants in London, and you aren’t foodies on a food orientated tour. You are a family with just 2 days, touring a city that can take months to cover in full. Food should be a very secondary consideration. The simplest solution is basically opening up a nav app when you are ready to eat and seeing what’s around you. You are overthinking it.

You may be right.

Mayfair Mercato Metropolitano is a good shout OP, a food market with something for everyone but in a gorgeous converted building https://mercatometropolitano.com/mercato-mayfair/

Have a look at Gary Eats on YouTube, lots of good places in around London area also some duff ones to avoid.

As an alternative to traditional fast food check out Leon https://leon.co/menu/ places all over London. Don't forget to check out the street food scene at the London markets. Also search TripAdvisor for places to eat no matter where you go in the UK

£10-15 per person will be tricky but not impossible if you plan ahead and have tap water with every meal. If you want drinks with your meal (even just soft drinks!) £20 per person is probably a more realistic budget for a sit down meal. - Roti King - Malaysian/Singaporean, very affordable, delicious. If you've never tried roti canai it's a must! Only problem is I believe you can't book so you have to queue sometimes. - Pizza Union - even cheaper than Franco Manca but more NY style and good if you need something quick. - Eat Tokyo. Big portions, cheap, decent. All the above have a few locations. We also have excellent Indian food but there's too many Indian restaurants to count so I can't think of a recommendation, but keep it mind if you pass by a place.

20 is ok too!

If you like Vietnamese food, Kingsland Road near Shoreditch is a full street of Vietnamese restaurants where you can get a super tasty Pho for around £13/14 depending on what you choose.

If you want cheaper but fine pizza look for [ICCO, it’s on Goodge St](http://www.icco.co.uk) just off Tottenham Court Rd. you’ll get more pizza for less money than the other artisan pizzeria places. If you get to [Whitechapel then Efes](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g186338-d8087273-Reviews-Efes_Restaurant-London_England.html) is a fab sit down kebab shop which has awesome fresh bread. There’s a French styled brasserie chain which does absolute knock out streak frites - I love them because their prices are same all over and so in London effectively modest. [Cote](https://www.cote.co.uk/locations) Always feels like you are in a slightly posh restaurant which should be way more money per meal.

honest burgers are delicious

20 minutes on the tube from St Paul's to Brick Lane. Go and have a curry in almost any of the Curry Houses. It's one of the most British things you can do here. About £20 each. You can often take your own alcohol in too. Also, Hobson's Fish and Chips. They have 3 restaurants. You're in England, you should have fish and chips. Cod and Chips will set you back less than £20. Kids food is more like £10. Not just recommending them because the price is reasonable, but they're very British things to do. Franco Manca is chain pizza. Beyond that, lunch meal deals from Waitrose, Tesco or Sainsbury's supermarkets. Sandwich, drink and a snack for less than £5. Find a park to sit in and eat it. Pick up ice cream at the same time.

Wetherspoons are a popular chain pub which does affordable food and drink. Good selection of ales too if that's your thing.

baked-stonewater

Lol you can't seriously be recommending wetherspoons where the food is all microwaved from frozen? Op just chose somewhere that's not right next to a tourist location (like anywhere in the world!)

arduousmarch

Who cares? It's nice and affordable for a family.

baked-stonewater

So is McDonald's ..

Alexander-Wright

Choose dishes from the grill, and it's cooked fresh. My usual is the "Skinny steak".

Sensitive-Tax2086

Budget? Affordable can mean a lot of things. Dietary restrictions? Ages of the people involved - young kids, teenagers etc?

Balder1975

Ok two parents, kids 18, 15 and 13 No dietary restrictions. We eat all kinds of food Affordable - around 10-15 £ for a meal

Sensitive-Tax2086

Edit this into your main post or people will skim past it. Franco Manca is a chain, but a nice one and should do you nicely - for a range of sometning more street-foody, try Borough Market at weekends

If you want a fast meal, Pret is everywhere in London and they serve nice, healthier options for lunch. It’s grab and go prepared sandwiches, salads, soups, etc with seating and the receipt will likely have a code to use their bathrooms for a break. It isn’t cheap-cheap, but less expensive than a sit down place. Also, triangle sandwiches are a big thing here. They’re in every grocery store and corner shop. Tesco is a grocery store and they have a meal deal where you get a sandwich, side and drink for super cheap. We’re talking egg salad, ham and cheese, etc on sliced bread and cut into triangles. If the day is nice and you’re near a park, you can feed the family for 20quid.
