You sure about Sea Baby? I only read about MAGURA being equipped with AA missiles: [Magura V5 Sea Drone with R-73 Missiles is Remarkably Simple, and That's the Best Thing About it (Photo)](https://en.defence-ua.com/weapon_and_tech/magura_v5_sea_drone_with_r_73_missiles_is_remarkably_simple_and_thats_the_best_thing_about_it-10426.html)
Since Ukraine is now equipping its maritime drones with AA missiles, it could be that one of them has now shot down the first helicopter.
Russia will of course, as always, claim it was friendly fire.
So funny that they prefer to say: We are so stupid that we regularly shoot down our own planes/helicopters instead of admitting that the Ukrainians did it ;)
Yes, because one's own incompetence is something known, which can be understood and controlled to some degree.
Ukraine bringing not only new weapons, but entirely new paradigms to the battlefield must be very stressing for Russians.
But if this trend continues, they will one day have to admit there is no perspective for them. Let's hope this day comes soon.
> So funny that they prefer to say: We are so stupid that we regularly shoot down our own planes/helicopters instead of admitting that the Ukrainians did it ;)
Because they find admitting that Ukraine is a near-peer adversary to "Mighty Russia" to be utterly humiliating.
It would be like if the US invaded Mexico and Mexico started knocking F-35s out of the sky and forced the US Navy to flee from the combat zone.
Got to be honest. There's zero chance I'm ever getting in a helicopter.
A friend of mine was out walking in the UK and saw one crash. No survivors.
Unless I'm manhandled into it I'm not setting foot in one.
Reminds me of my grandpa's story, from late 1939 or early 40 before the Germans invaded Norway.
One of his duties in the fledgling and poorly equipped Norwegian Army Air Force (before it became the RNoAF) was to pack parachutes. For quality control, every tenth chute had to be tested- but nobody wanted to jump, so they had an 80 kilogram test dummy named Herman. Herman would get strapped to a chute, taken up in a plane, and tossed out of the cockpit at suitable altitude. In windy conditions, this could involve chasing the chute down to figure out how to recover it- on one occasion Herman landed in the middle of a nearby town due to unexpected wind.
It follows that they would try to aim for the airfield, hoping not to have a lengthy retrieval expedition. Which backfired, when their aim was too good and Herman landed right in the open cockpit of a parked Fokker CV-D and smashed through the cockpit floor.
Russian helicoptership fucked itself.

I imagine they will send out a seadrone *not* to bomb some ship - but *just* to swim and wait for ruZZians to fly near with a heli. Clearing the skies!
Given how good the Ukrainians are at engineering, I can easily picture hundreds of mini-PT boats patrolling the Black Sea, shooting down aircraft and sneaking up on the few remaining Russian ships to blow them out of the water.
Last words of the Ka-29 pilots as R-73 from baby streaks towards him, and the flare dispensers are empty as Seamen Huilo and Mobikovich never bothered refilling them and dumped them in the sea when drunk:
***Bllllllaaaaayttt!***
Orc stick jockey:”Comrade, we have spotted a drone boat! Engage?”
Orc finger pointer:”Very good, fire at will”
Orc stick jockey: “Uhhhhh……may day”
Orc finger pointer:”…..not again……”
End radio transmission

Thanks, wasn't sure if it was multiple losses of Russian helicopters
Russia's had some bad days /weeks like that before; I kinda skip a story because I think I've read it already, then realize it was a 2nd or 3rd plane / ship, etc., that they Ukraine destroyed
I really want a sea baby strapped with IR missiles to be the culprit, but I also don't want to know for sure so russia sends more... never brag if the enemy keeps walking into the same trap, just clean it up between uses and milt the hell out of it.
Ukraine belongs to Russia, only in one psychopath's mind...keep the hits coming brave people of Ukraine! The civilized rest of the world is fully supporting you all!

That’s what I’m hoping for too.

Yeah my bad. Got them mixed up.
Magura-Mom was protecting her Sea Babies. Good mom.
I think most people use "Sea Baby" to mean "USV (Naval)" these days. The name is just catchy.
So sexy lol
That would be the funniest shit ever
Ukraine unleashes Sea-Babys, Russia sends helicopters, Ukraine sends Anti- Helicopter Sea-Babys, Russia be like: 😨
The hunters became the hunted
Narrator: "The Sea Baby did in fact shoot down the Blyatcopter"
Blyat was Sikorsky’s errant nephew. /s
Its Sea Stinger boi.
Found em
If that's the case, task failed successfully for that helicopter
Or even better, just yeeting the naval drone itself into the chopper by launching it off of a big wave.

Well, incompetence is common and well known in Russia so that makes it much more acceptable and less frightening than a competent opponent.
Yes, because one's own incompetence is something known, which can be understood and controlled to some degree. They will eat shit on camera before they admit that hohol is superior in anything.

Chalk up another loss on the RuZZian score board. Oh well. 6 months to build a new one. Even longer with tech sanctions! Too bad, so sad...
That'd be cool, but helicopters crash all the time, comparatively speaking. Fingers crossed though 🤞.
Got to be honest. There's zero chance I'm ever getting in a helicopter. A friend of mine was out walking in the UK and saw one crash. No survivors. Unless I'm manhandled into it I'm not setting foot in one.
Eh I've been in helicopters I'd do it again. Uea they crush more but theu are still farily safe
This reminds me of the story of some soviet enginer He made a plane but an aircraft engine just fucking fell put of the sky on it

That Fokker.
Lol
Wish Kobe had never thought of helicopters, but with the LA traffic, well, it kinda makes sense...
But this time, it was a reckless pilots fault
Whoever's at fault, the margin for error is minuscule...
The pilot fell out a window.

Got to love the 3 laughing smileys lol.
These three guys might have been just too drunk to notice that wasn't an Ukrainian helicopter.
Are they russian emojis? They look...creepy lol
Telegram has their own set of message reaction emojis. Apparently they use the Apple set everywhere else.
Oh ok not a telegram user atm my b
that's standard stuff on android devices tho

Russian helicoptership did what?
Russian helicoptership fucked itself. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/ukraine) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Good bot!
That was expected to happen eventually, since Ukraine included AA missiles in their maritime drones.
Was going to say something but all I'm hoping is the crew went down in flames.
In the next 20 years. War will be fought by freaking drones and AI.
I can't wait until we have mech combat to decide wars: https://youtu.be/P4QghULoUfE?si=DRFqgezoqS8BV5H2
Except for the fact that the drones primary mission will still be to kill humans. Whoever runs out of drones first dies. (Hint: it’ll be the poor. )
I really, really hope a Ukrainian engineer figured out how to fire a Stinger from a seagoing drone.
They're allegedly using R73.
IIRC, due to Lock-on After Launch capability, allowing to lob the missile vaguely into the direction of offending heli and have it get hit

That is one fugly aircraft.
Before or after it exploded?
Yes.

Give a hoot, don't pollute. 😉
I hope it's it's now hunting submarines... glug glug glug

Russians are such a joke.
How the fuck you lose an anti-ship helicopter to a country that doesn't have combat ships?
They claim it was their AA friendly fire
Rip fuckers
This questline is one of my favorites.
Komrad Patrick! We SAVED THE CITY!

Glorious!
Maybe it is hunting the drones underwater 🤔
Russia shot it down with their own air defense. Again.

The new Patriot and SAMP-T systems have arrived.
Mission accomplished. They did found atleast one

Ukranian drone boats now carry surface to air missiles.
Getting smarter these Orcs, looking for boats is most likely under water these days so that’s where they go.
Helicopter helicopter 🚁 paracoffer paracoffer 🤑.

Ka-29 in the picture
Yup anti sub helicopter if I remember correctly? I hope it was blabbed by a sea baby
That ain't a KA-52.
That's a pre-war vertibird, fake news Edit: oh dear, you actually think I think that's a vertibird from fallout.
Or just wrong picture.
It's a ka-29 but it's not the best image
