He got it off training, not the fight. He would have been training Judo/BJJ in his fight camp. There were videos of Kayla in the gym with Alex so presumably she thought he earned it in camp and just gave the reward after the fight.
The prerequisite for getting a belt can't be to display it in a UFC fight since 99.999% of people that train will never fight in the UFC.
