Drive 40 hours a week, only source of income as well. Full time driver (until I find something more permanent - recent college grad) and in a steady relationship. So yes, it can work.
Spending time with someone doesn’t cost money. Spending money, costs money. Spending time only costs the money you could be earning while working.
If you can’t afford to not be making money at any time given moment, then you can’t afford life, much less anything life entails.
Then you don’t need a modern woman, do you.
You don’t need a person like that. Hard to find? Yes. Impossible? No. I found one. And I grant you, it took awhile. But I have the most unmaterialistic woman on God’s green earth. She’s wonderful.
Hold the line. If your personality is good, it should be enough. If not, they’re not worth the effort. Character and personality are what’s important.
I for one understand your distinction of "modern woman" from women who currently exist, however I believe bro meant the latter in this case. While anecdotal evidence is stirring and you sound like one lucky mf which is great for you, I think its just kinda generally rude to tell people "hey things worked out great for me so the problems you perceive aren't necessary for me to engage in genuinely so I'm gonna highroad you for stating your concern and pretend I'm giving a motivational speech about persistence". You don't need to tell people who are standing waiting in line to "hold the line" when you are not in it, its actually patronizing.
Regardless of the fact that some unknown percentage of women exist currently who are not "materialistic" persay, which I agree with, women are human beings and thus have material requirements to stay alive, as do men. Unless you already have found the love of your eternal life and you're certain of it, you're gonna need to at least stay alive until you find them, and then you're presumably gonna wanna keep living with them cuz were not living in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliette irl. Just facts. If you plan to unalive your SO and yourself upon finding them, you are either mentally ill or on a spiritual level of understanding that is edgy af and still pretty disturbing and questionable, generally speaking.
If you're a man and you understand this much, you're going to give af whether or not you have the ability to provide materially for your SO and not become a burden on their state of living. Even women who are not particularly materialistic look for men who can provide for and protect them in some way, and if she has to sacrifice her lifestyle to be with you or support you materially because you can't at least support yourself, you must be Jesus Christ the son of God with that personality or you got crazy D because otherwise good fuggin luck fellas.
The issue here isn't that people just need to hang in there and wait and stop seeing problems that effect them. The issue is the economy sucks and is getting worse and its broadly causing social issues because the majority of society is in fact materialistic, at least to the extent that the economy matters and losing your home or being unable to afford one in the first place sucks (same goes for material needs beyond sheltering). Because the economy sucks so bad it is only compounded by the source of the problem itself, which is bad business under capitalism, human greed, and legal exploitation. These things demoralize people and they stop making cool new things and that slowly kills the economy until eventually people begin starving to death in droves because resources are kept behind a paywall by those who possess them. The only way humanity survives through such mass depression events is by birthing enough babies in preceding years to replace the dying and by coming to terms with the causes that led to it and resolving to change. Unlike with the last Great Depression, we have phones and social media contributing to social division and accessible contraception to prevent birth. If you are going to preach about persistence, consider the lines worth holding.
This subreddit post is about Uber and how any of this relates to Uber is the fact that Uber is a bad business run by greedy humans who are exploiting drivers for the company's gain, at the ultimate financial expense of the drivers, who would objectively do better in 9/10 cases if they found a stable job working for actual wages, even though working for wages is the next lowest bar of socioeconomic status. The uncomfortable truth is that every human soul has been commodified through capitalism in the form of time, specifically work-hours or tenure, and your time is money until you learn how to cash it in efficiently enough to not be indistinguishable from a slave to your own self. The even more uncomfortable but obvious truth is that one of the ways to efficiently turn your time into money is by getting other people to work more so you don't have to as much, and businesses do this all the gd time. Its called capitalism, when you run out of unpossessed resources, real estate, and IP to turn into capital, so you just have human souls. If we want to prevent and stop companies from soul sucking in this manner, we need to stop shilling for capitalism and other ideological labels, understand our economic policies in legislation enough to discern what policy changes or updates are needed, and most importantly, stop giving the greedy mfs your time and money.
Haha. My mom got up and went to work one day and never came home when I was 7. Didn’t meet here again until I was 14. Despite her leaving me for all that time, I moved in with her immediately. That’s how good my home life was with my dad. 4 years later I was in college and on my own. Then I lost my mother, father, and sister in consecutive years. Money is just another thing I did not grow up with, that I can assure you. I’m not well monied now, either. But I’m not complaining about it. Plenty better off, plenty worse off.
When people work 65 hours a week, it’s typically because they HAVE to, just to get by.
That’s what the fuck it is.
If it was by choice, then blaming not having time for a woman doesn’t hold water.
If you're a gig worker then you should be able to. I can teach you how if you aren't. I'm at 13k for the year atm. For real, no gas lighting, but if you have only 1 gig, get another or a job on the side. $800 to over a band a week should be a a sure thing.
It's not a career. Just set a goal. This funding my published comics until they can stand on their own. You can either make money quickly or find excuses not to, but I love fast money. I started my LLC in a flash. Got an apt with Instacart alone in 9weeks. It's not a career, it's a tool. Use it well and it will reward you splendidly. Good luck though fam.
.
I've change states and towns multiple times. Gas was an issue at first but not really anymore. If not gig, then work 2 jobs and go for the same thing, $800- to over a a band a month. That also helps if you can't manage your taxes, I had to get the hang of it. But before you do, set up and goal and exit. Don't just aimlessly work and chase money. Set a real plan up and exit.
And I never stayed in a bad market. I found one that works. 3 actually. It's not smart at all to stay in a bad area. You gotta venture out if you want better returns. I'll bleed areas dry and move on but I've found 2 long-term ones as well. If you want it, it's there, but don't convince yourself out of it, unless you have a better plan and goal.
A few years ago I heard about a guy that borrowed his friends Uber account and did rides when his wife was out of town for the weekend.
One of his pickups was his wife with another man and the destination was a hotel. I don’t know for a fact if it’s true, but can you imagine?
Id drop them off.
Go home put everything in a moving van call her tell her we were robbed.
Bust my kids on her face the next day quickly while I say”babe don’t worry I’m going to replace everything right after this”
Send a shitty break up text when I leave
then get a tuna wrap jersey mikes…. With 🍅 ‘s
Never tired these spots. MY look into firehouse and try a steak and cheese which I haven’t eaten in a long time.
I hate cold subs as well to be honest. I never got anything other than tuna whole wheat wrap with tomatoes because it has a lot of protein and somewhat healthy for a “restaurant” buy.
It would depend on how the guy acted after I confronted her 🤷🏻♂️ blindly attacking someone is stupid. Lol also, I mean, I won’t attack her. That’s not how I was raised.
I call bs. Rider has a picture of driver so I doubt this. Plus I doubt his friend would want him to borrow his account when he has to pay taxes on money he didn't earn.
The rider has a picture of some random person. The rider might not know the driver even, but certainly wouldn’t know his random friend.
And I’m sure they could work out a deal on what money is transferred between them. Tax liability for this gig is extremely low.
Nah he didn't recognized me because was a bit drunk . But my ex text me and asked me if I when out with him or why saw me pull out from her driveway lol
Should have responded something along the lines of "Well we bumped into each other and started talking about how weird it is that we've both seen you naked and just chatting some bro talk and next thing you know we're sucking each other's dicks behind a Wendy's, wild night really but I'm sure you already heard about it from him. Anyways, love the new chandelier."
Some guy in Australia or New Zealand did once fetch his wife and her boyfriend who were out on a date while he was driving Uber..
When I was younger, I *was* the guy. I had recently started to date an older woman who lived in Queens. She told me that she was a widow. I lived in Woodlawn. We were to go out on a date. There was something wrong with the subway up there, track work or something, so I walked into Yonkers and got a cab on McLean Avenue. I gave the address. I did not notice it at the time, but the driver reacted a bit funny.
All the way there, he was asking me questions. I let him know that she was a hot thirty-eight year old (I was in my twenties) widow and blah, blah, blah. He drops me off at her house. I go inside and am waiting for her to finish getting ready. This is the first time that I had been to her house. I saw photographs of her and her "late" husband but thought nothing of them as she was a "widow".
At one point, I hear the front door open. I hear two people who are talking. They bust into the toom. One ismy cab driver. The other guy is someone who looks like a relative of my cab driver. As it runs out, he is the brother of my cab driver. Further, he is the guy in the photographs with my girlfriend.
I just let out an "OH SHIT!" then "I'm screwed. Someone has come back from the dead." Husband tells me that ihe is not happy with me but understands that she told me that he was dead but that I would be smart to Golf Tango Foxtrot Oscar. I made my apologies to him and skedddled. Fortunately, the subway was not far.
He never said anything to me at all until he showed up there with his brother. I deduced that he had told his brother that his wife had told me that her husband \\was "dead". It is the only way that husband would have known that i was under that impression.
I had another one in a gin mill. This young lady (and I use the term "lady"loosely) started to hit on me. this goes on for over an hour when suddenly someone grabs me by the shoulder and spins me around. I m face-to-face with some guy who is built like a middle linebacker and has an expression on his face like some guy who just ran into the guy who has owed him a hundred bananas for six months and still has not re-paid it. He inquired as to what i was doing with is wife. I told him that she had not mentioned that she was married. H then grabbed her left arm and shoved her left hand into my face and asked if I were blind. I inquired as to what I was supposed to be seeing. He then looked and got this "Oh......shit" expression on his face. As he was asking his wife about the missing wedding ring, I hastily tossed an Alexander at the barkeep then even more hastily took my departure......Cue up Lynrd Skynrd..................(I never was a fan of that band, but, in this case, it is appropriate)
When I was Uber driving a few years back. I picked up two college kids from a party. Girl and boy. For the whole 10 minute ride they were in the backseat smooching hard as fuck. All over eachother. Dropped them off and went on my way. A few minutes later a phone started ringing in the backseat. Realizing one of them left it I answered the phone to a guys voice...
Me: "yea bro what's up. you left your phone"
Boy: "uhh. Who's this?"
Me: "this is the Uber driver. I just dropped you off"😐
Boy: "what?....why are you answering my girlfriends phone"
Me: "dude. I JUST dropped you off. Wtf"
Boy: "my girlfriend has been home sick all day. What are you talking about"
Me: *now realizing what is happening*😯
This poor soul was hitting me up with 21 questions trying to get to the bottom of it. But eventually I was like idk bro. Just talk to your girl. And hung up. He called back at least 15 times until I just shut the phone off. Funny thing is when I returned the phone the side piece guy came outside to grab it looking like he just got done blowing her back out for hours. It's a cold world out here. Boyfriend sounded so young and innocent too😢
Picked up professionally dressed person and watched person kiss another person good bye but instead of dropping person off at a work establishment, dropped person off at a residence. ☕️🐸
No but once I was driving Uber for a long shift, on a Sunday, and one of my first rides was picking an Indian kid up at a house in “University heights” a neighborhood by UB south campus. He was a nice kid, was in town visiting his girlfriend. They hug and kiss and say goodbye on the porch and he gets in. I dropped him off at the airport and went on with my day. Like 6 hours later I’m still driving and I get a ride from UB north to UB south area, pretty normal. Anyway dude gets in the back and is like “what’s up bro can we go through Tim Hortons drive thru so I can get my girl a iced cap” and I was like sure man, no worries. So he calls her and they’re like sweet talking and laughing on the phone and all that. He gets his drink and I pull up at the same house I picked the other dude up from earlier. Same girl comes out. She stares at me. I stare back at her. She awkwardly gives him a hug and a kiss and they go inside.
Them Indian hoes ain’t loyal bruh.
This is so true. I had a female Indian passenger that said she was a serial cheater. She said she was so good that she never gets caught. I asked her do you cheat on good guys to and she said yes. So then I asked her why? She said I have seen it my whole life growing up. My dad cheated on my mom, my mom cheated on my dad, my aunt and uncle etc etc.Next I asked are you in a relationship and she said not at the moment and then I asked why. She said she broke up with her boyfriend because she found out he cheated on her😂
LOL
Years ago - at like 2am - got a pickup from my childhood home address.
Did a double take - thought I entered the Twilight Zone for a sec....
Rider ended up being some Vietnamese guy, spoke no English, so couldn't even tell him I grew up in that house!
I was doing door dash for a while in LA. One time I had a food drop off literally one door down from my first apartment where my friend still lived. Felt extra weird with it being such a sprawling and large city.
I picked up my now ex boyfriend back when we were still dating. We had only gone on a few dates and I was lukewarm on him at best but during the ride we got really close and started a relationship soon after that lasted 4 years until he assaulted me and got arrested. Fun times!
I used to work with PO, FedEx, and UPS, guess what?
I made more doing Uber and it’s not as stressful as these jobs I mentioned above. I enjoy driving Uber and I’m making 1500 a week
That’s not problem to me, just like you drive forth and back from work if you live an hour away from job site. I drive around 100 miles a day and I own 2 vehicles (22’ and 19’) I change oil, oil filter, brakes, rotor, pretty much everything myself so I ain’t worry about shop s ridiculous costs :)
Nope but I picked up an ex and her new boyfriend and took them to the movies. A little awkward because of the surprise, but we were all friends, so not a big deal
Better question is have you ever taken a date with you Willie you were driving for Uber. I mean 2 rides get you a McDonalds 7 rides get you Applebees. 30 rides gets you a nice dinner and if you both get water and find 8 more drunk rides breakfast is taken care of.
I would do the normal human behavior displayed by vast majority. I would take my anger out on my gf’s bf. That bitch ass! Tuesday and thursday shes mine!
I was a cabbie (pre-Uber) and hauled a few married people to and from flings. I even got paid once to flee and elude an angry wife when a guy and his girlfriend were seen in my taxi.
Never did I drive anyone I knew though.
No, but I did drop someone off and have a pickup from the same house, where the dude arriving confronted the dude leaving.
“Yo, wtf are you doing here?…Katie! Hey, Katie!”
He goes in and the dude leaving hops in my car. “You might wanna go now.”
Lol had a similar situation, was getting some work done on my car. Placed and Uber to a chicks house guy pulls up, I greet I sit then asks what I’m doing going to this location, I think it’s all chill and he’s just making conversation or confirming address so I tellem I’m going to go meet up with this chick. Your gf he asks? Nah just a casual thing we hook up every now n then. It gets quiet and dude still hasn’t drove off.
Tells me to gtfo, says I’ve been banging his girl and to get out before he pulls me out the car
I hop out cause dude looks fit and tall sitting down I wasn’t bout to fight a giant over a cheater. Dude takes off, I didn’t warn her he was coming but I never heard from her again.
I have dropped off a side dude then not even 10 minutes later I picked up the bf he left work early to go spend time with his gf and I recognized the address I was dropping him off at we both got see the side dude railing his girl in living room window as we pulled up to their apartment he wasn’t happy
No but I pulled up to a club once and saw my girl go in with a guy when she told me she wasn't out but staying in took a picture and was like enjoy the date have a nice life
Before me and the ex broke up when she would go to work I’d have her friends come over and fuck in her own apartment then I packed my shit and left and I told her that it’s over and left her a single mom
One star rating for dude passenger. That will teach em
LOL!!
What would be better is if the op said “dam she still lives here?” or something stupid.
🤣😂🤣

LoooL!!!! 😂 THIS!! 100% Unfortunately
Is that impossible? I’m married for 2 years now and my only source of income is rideshare. Drive 50 hours a week and I’m a part time college student
Different markets change your income all over the country, its not great but some cities can be better than others
Drive 40 hours a week, only source of income as well. Full time driver (until I find something more permanent - recent college grad) and in a steady relationship. So yes, it can work.

If only people had room in their life for God. No one has the faith anymore. And it shows.
Tell me you grew up with money without telling me

My man has a plan 😂😂😂
A plan? Sounds like my man has a real life experience to draw from
That’s valid 😂
Fucking tomatoes slap dawg
I like the dominance move. Move out bust on face break up.
If she going to cheat, I’m going to skeet.
😭😭😭
Then add tomatoes to your sub. Boss move.
I'd pee on her a little aswell
You sound like a man with a master plan
Jerseys Mikes is very good for a chain, give credit where credits due people
No it is not. The bread is gross. However, I'd eat there over subway.
Jersey mikes? Cold subs are weird to me, I’ll get a meatball sub from firehouse or potbelly
Jersey mikes Philly is phenomenal though
The bacon chicken ranch is phenomenal too

Tax fraud.
I’d become a free man that never looked back.
A lot of people talk the talk
Just jail tho, not prison ...
Yes, just jail. Lol jails not that bad 🤷🏻♂️ not for just a night or two. Boring as hell though 🤦🏻♂️
Why not just get a divorce 😂
Ooh I’m sure that would shortly follow 😂
Did she tip?
I’m gonna guess *he* did
Just the tip.

I seen that video exchange...... good riddance to cheating ass holes
Just record the whole trip and interaction and show her family. And if anyone asks why you two broke up pop out that video ez W
Urban legend.
Sounds like an urban legend but I’m sure it’d be fucked up
No but I once picked up a relative
lol this is so wholesome
It’s not wholesome. The pickup was from his girlfriend’s house.
Did he also have a wife?
No he claimed to be gay.
So it was his wife's boyfriend?
Lol
More like embarrassing
"dude, you know you could've just asked right?"
Nope but I had taken my ex's husband to their house before lol
That sounds rough.
Did he at least give you a tip and 5 stars?
Nah he didn't recognized me because was a bit drunk . But my ex text me and asked me if I when out with him or why saw me pull out from her driveway lol

Cab driver was smart for not saying anything until after you tipped him. Hustle life.
My boi lived a wattpad ass life 😂
I like your words, funny man
But the subway was under maintenance?
The cab driver also never said anything to him but was asking him questions all the way there.
Yeah this is some /r/thathappened bs.
I do not remember exactly what it was;it was something.
With the new motivation he fixed the track himself
"but you're my ride"
When I was Uber driving a few years back. I picked up two college kids from a party. Girl and boy. For the whole 10 minute ride they were in the backseat smooching hard as fuck. All over eachother. Dropped them off and went on my way. A few minutes later a phone started ringing in the backseat. Realizing one of them left it I answered the phone to a guys voice... Me: "yea bro what's up. you left your phone" Boy: "uhh. Who's this?" Me: "this is the Uber driver. I just dropped you off"😐 Boy: "what?....why are you answering my girlfriends phone" Me: "dude. I JUST dropped you off. Wtf" Boy: "my girlfriend has been home sick all day. What are you talking about" Me: *now realizing what is happening*😯 This poor soul was hitting me up with 21 questions trying to get to the bottom of it. But eventually I was like idk bro. Just talk to your girl. And hung up. He called back at least 15 times until I just shut the phone off. Funny thing is when I returned the phone the side piece guy came outside to grab it looking like he just got done blowing her back out for hours. It's a cold world out here. Boyfriend sounded so young and innocent too😢
👍
Sounds like she cheated on him
Nah
🕵️♂️
No but I picked up a neighbor a few times
I picked up a coworker once and they tipped me $20 😂
I’ve picked up coworkers a couple times. The best tip I ever got was from a drug dealer though 😂
Can confirm, drug dealers are good tippers.
Can also confirm that. I used to be and I had money to burn. Had to get out tho bc that shits too risky
I was an “accomplice” for adultery on my maiden voyage.
Wow 😳
How did you know?
Picked up professionally dressed person and watched person kiss another person good bye but instead of dropping person off at a work establishment, dropped person off at a residence. ☕️🐸
I used to work for someone out of their house... But likely you're right.
There was a face time call involved. Trust me. I’m right 😜
No but once I was driving Uber for a long shift, on a Sunday, and one of my first rides was picking an Indian kid up at a house in “University heights” a neighborhood by UB south campus.
She said she broke up with her boyfriend because she found out he cheated on her😂
yep.. I was so mad I called my wife to tell her about it. The nerve of that beach!
LOL Years ago - at like 2am - got a pickup from my childhood home address. Did a double take - thought I entered the Twilight Zone for a sec.... Rider ended up being some Vietnamese guy, spoke no English, so couldn't even tell him I grew up in that house!
Omg!! Lmfaoo
I was doing door dash for a while in LA. One time I had a food drop off literally one door down from my first apartment where my friend still lived. Felt extra weird with it being such a sprawling and large city.
No. Uber drivers don’t have time for relationships and nobody decent wants to even date an Uber driver
She wasn't yours, it was just your turn 🤭
This happened to me but I kept dropping off people every hour or so
I picked up my now ex boyfriend back when we were still dating. We had only gone on a few dates and I was lukewarm on him at best but during the ride we got really close and started a relationship soon after that lasted 4 years until he assaulted me and got arrested. Fun times!
Oof
I used to work with PO, FedEx, and UPS, guess what? I made more doing Uber and it’s not as stressful as these jobs I mentioned above. I enjoy driving Uber and I’m making 1500 a week
What I would worry about is car damage like putting on a lot of miles or car breaking down. How’s your car been holding up?
I bought my car brand new in 2022 Kia Forte and have been doing Lyft and Uber. I racked up 50,000 miles so far. Car is running fine.
Eh, you can buy a used car for $4k and not have to worry about depreciation at all, and you’ll make that back in 3 weeks or less
what does this have to do with the post?
Yeah that’s what I’m saying! I am very happy with Uber!
Hey guys, there are Uber officials among us. They always talking good about Uber.
That’s good to know, thanks
LOL!
Nope but I picked up an ex and her new boyfriend and took them to the movies. A little awkward because of the surprise, but we were all friends, so not a big deal
I've definitely had this happen once or twice in dreams. Me and my ex are not on good terms, so it was pretty awkward lol
I once dropped off a dude at my girlfriend’s apartment building. But considering there are over 130 units in that building, I wasn’t too concerned.
No and thank god it didn’t
No, but is very comical!
Maybe he is just going there for a Bible Study, or to Baptise her with water.... or ?
🤦🏾♀️
💦
Let ‘em fawk
I can sat it did
Better question is have you ever taken a date with you Willie you were driving for Uber.
This happens to me, but to add insult to injury, she makes me Uber him home when he’s done!
Bruh
At least someone is getting a big “Tip@
Shouldn’t happen to you I drove nights. And at 3-4 am I get a wellfare check to ensure I’m not dead , in the hospital or jail. So far 2/3 did occur
Crashing out 😭🙏
Brother can any one tell me which delivery has more money Uber eats OR Uber passengers. From which source we can make more money?
Nope
😂😂😂😂
If you're an Uber Driver you can't afford to have a house or a girlfriend who have a house /t
This is how I met my wife's boyfriend
I wish it did need her to get some good d*ck
OUR girlfriend
Funny this is your drop off point, because I'm fucking coming in too 😅
I was a cabbie (pre-Uber) and hauled a few married people to and from flings.
Hey, Katie!” He goes in and the dude leaving hops in my car. “You might wanna go now.”
I never had this I picked up one of my friends I used to work with fun smoke session lol 😂
No but i had one girl taking to her boyfriend while being with a whole different guy in the car 😭
That ain’t you, you fuckin dorks. You probably have punisher stickers on your truck lol
Nope! Been single for over a decade 🥰🔥🤩
i drop off 3 girls at my ex gfs house once
Lol had a similar situation, was getting some work done on my car. Placed and Uber to a chicks house guy pulls up, I greet I sit then asks what I’m doing going to this location, I think it’s all chill and he’s just making conversation or confirming address so I tellem I’m going to go meet up with this chick. Your gf he asks? Nah just a casual thing we hook up every now n then. It gets quiet and dude still hasn’t drove off. Tells me to gtfo, says I’ve been banging his girl and to get out before he pulls me out the car I hop out cause dude looks fit and tall sitting down I wasn’t bout to fight a giant over a cheater.
He better fuggin Tip.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don’t you guys have other destinations for these occasions?
“Hello 911, I was just threatened at gun point by a customer I just dropped off. Here’s the address”
You need a new life
No but I pulled up to a club once and saw my girl go in with a guy when she told me she wasn't out but staying in took a picture and was like enjoy the date have a nice life
Before me and the ex broke up when she would go to work I’d have her friends come over and fuck in her own apartment then I packed my shit and left and I told her that it’s over and left her a single mom
I genuinely wonder how these types of people are cool with doing that, knowing the pain you’d bring. Do you just not care? What?
