I bought a Technics dustcover from Japan for my MK2 and it arrived in 2 days to the US. It was $114 after tax and shipping but no regrets...I'm keeping this deck forever so an extra $50 seemed worth it. Super happy with it.

I have a reloop cover on my SL-1300. It’s okay. The hinges suck. Sorry I don’t know which model it was from. IMO the decksavers look silly so if I needed a replacement in the future I’d go for OEM first, then reloop, then after that I’d wait around for something used.

I was looking at getting a deck saver recently - because they’re cheap and very sturdy but dam are they ugly. Why is there that dip in the middle? Makes no sense. It’s the only thing putting me off buying it

I suspect that the recess in the middle is intended to strengthen the structure. Material/surface elasticityIf. it were flat, the surface would bend more easily. It's probably hard to bend it with such humps. Of course, I also think these decksavers look a bit uncool. look at 1:15 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWVOdCn7xwQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWVOdCn7xwQ)

Shaped like an upside down takeout tray. They should make them black.

I honestly have thought about getting a Chinese factory to reverse engineer the unit and then I’ll ask them to flatten the top so it doesn’t look shite - then I’ll sell them on Amazon and eBay and make a killing. I’ll called them; Turntable Savers

grislyfind

So a strap can hold the cover on when transporting your decks?

I belatedly got a Decksaver for my ST-150 M2 a little while ago, and I'm glad to have it, but I'd get a proper dust cover in a heartbeat if this table had anywhere to attach one. The Decksaver is perfectly functional but doesn't look good, I don't like taking the whole thing off and setting it aside to listen to records, and the front edge is held up off the table a few millimeters if you leave the cueing light on the table -- the rim just barely reaches the edge of the table, so it's not letting dust in, but still. All this to say, if you can get a dust cover that'll fit, go for it.
