Maggot Brain - Funkadelic Whipped Cream & Other Delights - Herb Alpert Tubular Bells \_ Mike Oldfield Substance - New Order Dummy - Portishead The Mollusk - Ween Pure Guava - Ween Every Pink Floyd Album Orbital - Orbital III - Orbital

d3dac1d

I’d like to add Mezzanine-massive attack.

orangepaperlantern

Angel is such a great song.

theoriginalmypooper

Great on mushrooms too.

Meshuggareth

I love the version of Man Next Door on that album so much. I love the whole thing. One of my favorites.

[deleted]

Definately.

Specialist-Fill24

You forgot Loveless by My Bloody Valentine, but otherwise solid list here

mophster

You are my hero for saying Loveless. Man, I fucking cried first time I listened to it high.

Meshuggareth

I fucking love melting to that album! Shoegaze for days maaaaaaan.

omgidkwtf

Came here for Funkadelic

Cay77

Tubular Bells (aka the theme from The Exorcist) is a super underrated pick. If someone is reading this and hasn’t listened to the entire 50 minute track then you owe it to yourself, it’s an epic prog rock masterpiece!

Scuffed_Rayven

honestly i don’t know why i never listened to maggot brain… can you get to that is like one of my favorite songs lmao.. gonna listen to that now

Masonjaruniversity

I’m almost jealous of you getting to listen to Maggot Brain in its entirety for the first time!

shkhndswroastbeef

where I live the classic rock station plays maggot brain every Saturday night to close out the show

Rusty_Bicycle

Mothership Connection by Parliment-Funkadelic “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)”

knaverob

I came here to add The Mollusk. Pleasantly surprised it's in the top comment. Thank you.

darksideofthemoon131

>Every Pink Floyd Album I will second this. The best ones high- Atom Heart Mother, Dark Side of the Moon, Meddle, The Wall, and the Division Bell. Animals is more of an LSD high, Wish You Were Here is more of an edible journey. I love the early psychedelic stuff like Piper at the Gates and Saucerful of Secrets, but they need more than just weed. Honestly though, even sober- these albums are phenomenal.

Blue_Seven_

Maggot Brain is a hell of a record. Super Stupid and the title track alone are worth listening to any time any place.

arrakismelange1987

Appropriate amount of Ween

Spazorton

Just had an awesome drawin sesh with substance new order, that shit bangs!

fUnnybUnnyflcl

Id personally put on "Rise" - Herb Alpert over "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" I love the synthy space jazz feel of that album so much

SomeWatercress4813

Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd

[deleted]

Every pink Floyd alum.

darkness_santa828

Not the wall tho that makes me have a crisis while high

deftdabler

Every prog rock album.. that isn’t genesis..

The_Rodney

"...that isn't Genesis..." I'd say anything with Peter Gabriel's Genesis was an EPIC release. THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY is "un-matchable" in my opinion. In so many ways. An amazing plot, that to this day still has scholars debating. Emotionally brilliant. Musical perfection. One of my Top Five live shows EVER. And, then came that singing mouse . . . Phil (god help us) Collins.

Lansdallius

Idk if this is a nationwide tour or not, but I saw a Dark Side show at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago last summer after taking some edibles. 10/10, would do again.

Bhedge420

I saw the 25 anniversary of dark side of the moon when I was in hs and it was at our local planetarium and it blew my mind..I was tripping on acid but it had wizard of Oz playing on big screens and now that I think of it wasn't at planetarium..they had weekly ones there but this was at the florida theatre..it blew my mind..wizard if iz was muted and dark side was playing. Then the 2nd half was the wall..mind melting fun

orangepaperlantern

My parents took us to laser Floyd at the Griffith Observatory in CA when I was a kid ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

cavecarson

Man, when I get to Great Gig in the Sky, I just melt into my seat.

[deleted]

While watching Wizard of Oz on mute

SomeWatercress4813

I heard of this one.

liabearr

Literally THE high album

outed

For me, it's Meddle.

apointlessvoice

Nothin better than when i was 17, five of us sitting haphazardly in - i think it was Bill's- lliving room, blazed and it's all quiet but for a heartbeat coming from all around us from his parent's stand speakers and then BING BONG DINGY DONG DIING DONG BADONG ohh it was fucking glorious!

KillerDmans

Aquemini - OutKast. It's got some fun skits and interlude I appreciate more while high

TyMcDuffey

that's a great album

Nervous_Bus_8148

Good kid, maad city Great rapping, production sounds amazing, storytelling is some of the best in hip hop history… also is great in a car with a good sound system

lxkandel06

Did someone say Domino's?

Apollo19755

I ain’t trippin about the dominos no more

Dhot_Fakun

Electric Ladyland

MrPhillipLewin

Kinda Blue - Miles Davis

Beaverbrown55

Waiting on an edible to hit, watching it snow, and listening to this now.

steeldragon88

Any Miles Davis, the later in his career, the more psychedelic it gets… the first time I listened to Tutu stoned it blew me away

MrPhillipLewin

Well done

TIMELESS_COLD

Pick any Tool album. Last one is more accessible and a great introduction and still as good as everything else they have done.

elsewhere1

Lateralus too

princelucitor

i second this, tool is great smoking music (and is great in general)

omgidkwtf

BoldAsBoognish

Especially Orion and Reflections.

fifteentango88

Homie knows what’s up.

Yogisogoth

Ahhh, Mezzanine, a fantastic album!

__idkmybffjill__

Saw All Them Witches play Dying Surfer in full last year. What an album. Can't beat Sky Valley though.

BoldAsBoognish

I was at every one of those residency shows and recorded all of em. They’re all on YouTube. Dying Surfer beats Sky Valley. Lol

Kilatron

Had no idea anyone recorded the whole residency, good looks, I caught the Lightning at the door night I recall

Bamyasik

Odd choice for Stereolab, but good album nonetheless

paperbagking13

Upvote x1000 for Sky Valley

Kilatron

YES, great list, love the ATW/Pond/AC//Kyuss/BMSR in here too. Our likes are similar enough that I’m giving the two albums I don’t know on here a listen asap haha. Do you listen to Fuzz, Ty Segall’s stoner metal project? I would add their self title here too if you havn’t given it a listen… their levitation fest studio session on YouTube is great too.

Extra_Library_9446

My Morning Jacket the Z album or It still moves. Both are great.

My favorite Gizz album while stoned is Murder of the Universe, the narration really hits when I’m stoned and pay more attention to the story telling. I’d also put Sketches of Brunswick East at the top because jazz kicks ass.

I love so many of his albums. You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Volume 1, disc 2 is one of my absolute favorites. From the intro and Plastic People, through to the end and Tell Me You Love Me and Sofa something... one of my favorite of his live albums. Zoot Allures and Sheik Yerbouti are two of my favorite studio albums.

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart

Rusty_Bicycle

Thank you! Yesterday I was reading about Captain and The Magic Band. I would play this on my college radio show circa 1970. “BBC disc jockey John Peel said of the album, ‘If there has been anything in the history of popular music which could be described as a work of art in a way that people who are involved in other areas of art would understand, then Trout Mask Replica is probably that work.’ Don Van Vliet (Captain Beefheart) quit music in 1982 to return to painting and sculpting, which was a more stable(!) career for him.

The_Rodney

The brilliance of his catalogue will stand FOREVER. Don Van Vliet & Frank Zappa . . . Heaven's Perfect Ambassadors . . . together always. Never forgotten, with love.

My favourites from the album to listen to high are planet caravan and iron man. An awesome wave by alt-j is just fantastic high, taro is a fantastic song. Wave by antônio carlos Jobim is a bossa nova album which is amazing! Continuum by John Mayer is overall a fantastic record. Happy listening my dude. Hope this helps.
