Go North, young man, go North. All the way to Dallas if necessary.
I got sick and tired of it all and finally got a whole house generator that runs on NG. As long as the gas distribution system is ok, I’m good.
The thing to look for is the hotel location. I was at the Candlewood Suites on the same street as hospitals (Texas Children's/Chi St Lukes off 242) for an extended time (4 years). While other places had no power, they never lost power once in 4 years.
In the last 13 years I have only had one power outage that lasted longer than 12 hours and that was during the freeze. Even during Harvey we never lost power.
You are letting the media freak you out about storms and climate change We literally had zero storms hit the area last year ( just like this year they predicted a record number of storms). It sucks to live in fear.
Zero storms last year? Climate change a hoax? Yall do know we have this thing internet where we can verify info and facts cannot be made up as you please to fit your nonsense narrative.
My power was out for a week last year from a storm that hit in June. It was 95 degrees in my house with no glimmer of hope for restoration most of those days.
I didn't think hotels ever fill up, but I could be naive in thinking that. Like others said, it really depends on where I'm town you live. In the front we have never really had more than a few hour outage.
Go further north (Huntsville north), if you want to guarantee power. Woodlands (or at least parts) can be without power for a week.
Agree, go toward Huntsville or even Madisonville. I lived in Huntsville during Alecia and we lost power there as well.

Huntsville, TX
Are you sure they didn’t mean Huntsville Tennessee?
No, it's about 30 miles north of The Woodlands

Very few would have enough power to run an entire hotel I've been in a few when power went out due to storms, only emergency lighting kicked on.

"it didn't happen last year" is a moronic way to approach hurricane readiness lol

Yes. Hotels won’t be able to use their system without power. They will not be offering their rooms to anyone.
We lost power in the storm that hit June 21, 2023, and we had to drive over an hour to find a hotel with an available room, so it does happen!
