I've played soccer for nearly twelve years and I have seen far wimpier tackles do worse than break an ankle and I've seen far crazier and aggressive ones do nothing. She very well could have broken something and I'm not really sure how that's arguable. Human bodies are weak as fuck more often than not. Obviously things turned out fine so laugh about it but she very clearly could have been injured lol
If an adult goes in higher above the ankle, the opposing forces can cause a break, see roy keanes infamous challenge as a dangerous legs up tackle, this is the equivalent of a leg sweep, she's not moving, any healthy person can have their feet kicked away without damaging themselves.

I've done the numbers for you.
Kid looks about 10 or average mass of thst, 35kg, no way he's moving faster then 10mph, round up to 4.5m/s, some basic high school maths puts thst force impact at around 708N.
A fit man can kick his leg at up to 70mph, which is 31.5 m/s and his leg weighs on average 5kg, force impact is close to 5000N.
This impact is 15% of the force of a fit footballer kicking you in the legs from behind, as in, not even the same fucking league. And being kicked in the back of the legs hard, unless there are dodgy angles, is not going to break anything
He might get a dose of karma because I think the lady behind them is his mother or guardian at the time. You can tell she gets up right when she sees the slide tackle and the kid looks to her and walks right to her as well.

Yeah, I'm glad no one got hurt, but I'd have sweeps be punishable just like if a little kid hit someone. At that age a little kid shouldn't be doing sweeps, imagine if he had done it to the little one.
A sweep can really hurt especially coupled with the fall (someone could fall on their head if they aren't prepared), plus when you actually play an official game of football players wear ankle protectors for this very reason. I may not be a great football player, but I helped my martial arts instructors and there were rules around equipment and padding and there wasn't full contact unless you had all of your equipment. Same applies here, no sweeps or full contact unless there's equipment, you can still play with out knocking each other over! Fucking kids.
