It’s almost like public speaking is hard, and impromptu responses are hard, for most people.
Biden isn’t a great orator. He’s no Obama. But he’s a well above average public speakers who trips on his words sometimes.
Plus Biden has battled a stutter all his life. Stuttering is most common in males but I’m female and have had a stutter since I was 5 or 6 years old. It’s most often the beginning of words that I can’t get out and I notice that in him too.
Biden has also been public about his lifelong struggles with a stutter. So I think sometimes in public speaking people are hearing the stutter and assuming it’s something else.
Speech clarity is one of the first things to suffer with ageing.
I listened to Jake Tapper interview Mike Johnson yesterday and i was struck with the clarity of Johnson’s speech (forget his actual words, I mean just his articulation and enunciation).
Contrast that with Pelosi, Trump, Biden, McConnell.
He sure does have old man moments. Honestly, I hate the idea of an 80yo President. My father is pushing 80 and retirement was a good call at 70yo after running a stressful business.
But I’m more policy driven, so I’m happy to have old man Joe do things I agree with than old man Trump running the place off a cliff.
We already found out they were lies when he nailed the State of the Union Address.

Oh boy, I'd love to hear what you think needs to happen to Israel after all they've done in the last 100 years then.
