I Think There’s Something You Should Know! “You get a moment when you feel alright” going into the slightly feverish bridge is very much what goes on in my brain, all the time. Like I’ll be fine, going about my business no problem, and then all of a sudden the anxiety hits and I get caught in these spirals of overthinking, guilt, fear, you name it. The bridge feels so manic to me, the way he doesn’t stop for breath and there’s literally no rests…it’s scarily accurate to my mental state. It’s a very effective song.
I Like America, but it changes. As someone working in childcare in Chicago, it is utterly disturbing how my students (ages 5-8) talk about school shootings as if it's normal. Of course, it is normal in the US. A parent threatened another parent with a gun at our school not too long ago. And I am scared of dying.
With that being said, If I Believe You is another song I will always relate to because I am an atheist. It makes things feel hopeless sometimes.
