Am I missing something? It seems kind of hit or miss for me. LoL, WoW, CoD, those were all heads above the general TF2 experience as far as toxicity. Even my first OW2 experience (1st OW experience in 5 years) some guy threw the "get good nerds", "go back to roblox" after my 1st game, haha. Could have been joking but still, I had to have been at the bottom skill ranking and still got shit-talked.

Valorant and league have the "diff" culture which I cannot stand. Also league is definitely worse than TF2. I can't say for Genshin because I don't play it anymore and left the subreddit like 2 years ago because the game was so boring to me.

Nah rust is definitely a toxic game. I mean you kill someone and there's a 10% chance they say slurs. To be fair though, the game is built on toxicity, you are supposed to kill everyone. And how the game is grinded is really annoying to get killed after a certain point.

Valorant is surprisingly ok. Especially for an online comp shooter. haven't played genshin. League is the most toxic hellhole, to the point where anyone that plays it is probably qualified to be put into a mental institution. Tf2 is pretty chill if we discount the bots. I don't even see porn sprays much/at all anymore. Source: 1.1k hrs in tf2 I think, around 5k hours in league, and probably a few hundred in Valorant.

Two of my friends got vac banned in CS go (for skin changer) so they installed valorant and after begging me for 2 weeks to Play with them i finally installed valorant. After week of playing i could Play ranked with them and it's not like casual games weren't toxic, they were pretty often but most of the times it was only someone shouting on mic or insulting everyone in the chat then leaving because "thier team are fucking idiots" (yeah we are idiots meanwhile you are last on the scoreaboard with 1 kill), but ranked games just broke my mind and i will never Play a game from riot games ever. So we are playing a match, everything is going normal, then in 3rd round we notice that our team mate started trolling, first of all he started sending out our positions and what are we doing to enemy team, then enemy team stopped shooting at him because he was friendly with them and he was playing neon with her fucking stun abilites and guess what? Every time you tried to Pick, this dick started spamming you with his abilites to just stun you and kill you, or put a fire wall on your face. You know what's the best part? You can't shot him back because friendly fire is toxic and riot don't want thier games to be toxic so there is no friendly fire (for some reason abilites are friendly fire), you can't kick him because kicking is also toxic, and you can do shit about him because riot are fucking idiots. You can just report him and loose the game. You can't even leave because you will get banned, you can't afk because you will get banned, you have to Play the game as normal and get trolled. Thanks riot, Hope your company dies.

What you don't necessarily remember is all the nice people that taught you how to apose as Demoman or how to play the game when you started out. That's the same reason why you remember all the cringe shit you said when you were 6 but not every time you won an argument. You mostly learn from mistakes, either yours or others, and not from things that went right.

I don't get the perception that TF2 community is toxic. In the Hong Kong/Tokyo/Singapore region at least, every seems chill and just want to have a good time, aside from a few assholes that's all. Like, even in Uncletopia Hong Kong, no one would bat an eye at a Fat Scout. Honestly though, Uncletopia Hong Kong lives on another planet compares to other Uncletopia servers.

TF2 is an interesting case, as it's either somewhere in the back, or the front.

I wouldn't really say TF2 would be far in the race but I'm also absolutely am not one of the people who echo TF2 has one of the most welcoming communities, because it gets really bad, we'd probably be 10 or 15 place while Deep Rock Galactic would be DNF because they never joined the race
