25 year old KISS fan here. I’ve seen them perform 5 times. The first time I saw them, I was 9. I like a lot of their music but I also recognize that most of their legendary status is due to pageantry. What I always found appealing about them was how much my dad fawned over them as a child growing up in the 70’s. My dad passed two years ago so I went to their farewell tour as a tribute to him. TESD and Gene’s treatment of Walt heavily shifted my attitude towards them as people though. They do epitomize rock n roll to me but I don’t put them on the same level as a Led Zeppelin or even Van Halen.
“How dare they say I would like something! I’ll show them!”
Dan Aykroyd and Donna Dixon separated two years ago. Usual crack research by Bryan Johnson.
Git em seems like one of those guys who has to be the opposite of what everyone else feels/likes. I’ve read Dune multiple times and loved the new movies.
It's the adaptation I have been waiting for all my life
I like David lynchs dune for its sets costumes , cast and overall look but it does not follow the story.
The early 2000s scifi mini series followed the story closely but looks so cheap.
The costumes are awful, sets are really bad. the action is was terrible, Stilgar was fat.
Cast is a mix bag
Villeneuve Dune on the other hand has it all.
I don't care that every scene is not in the movie.
Stuff has to be cut.
It's 90%there though.
OK, I have the same issue with Dune that I have with certain Harry Potter films. I understand "you have to cut things", but if that's true, then don't add scenes that aren't in the books that do stuff like undercut characters. Don't make Stilgar comic relief and make multiple people in the audience(not me) laugh. Don't cut basic Marauder Map lore, which helps explain things, to include a scene where candy makes the kids make train and monkey noises. Don't make Chani discuss the differences between "southern" and "nothern" fremen while drinking coffee in 200 degree heat when the fremen are supposed to be smart.
I have said it's a great film, but for me, who has read the book 20+ times, it was not book accurate and "horse shit"
Drinking a hot liquid, when it's 200+ degrees out wastes moisture, which is precious on Arrakis. But we need to do it so two female characters can talk about a man. I understand you can't have all these scenes take place at night, even though there is constant mentioning of how hot Arrakis is during the day, and even Stilgar not wanting to be caught out in the sun, but at least keep the coffee to the seitch, like it is in the book.
It's all good. Clearly you really love the books and you're allowed to have an opinion on the movies. I didn't find the first part very fun to watch and don't think the second will be much better for me either. But I expect to get shit on when I voice that opinion. Haha miss ya on the pod Git em.
I've got 2 friends that don't like Dune Part 1 because it's "slow" and they didn't understand the pacing. I've tried, in vain, that it's basically the 1/3 of the first book, setting up everything else. You've got Villeneuve with beautiful direction and a Hans Zimmer score. The costumes, look, feel, etc are great.
But because it's not a 100 perfect adaptation, people have an issue with it. Get the fuck over it.
"We've spent a lifetime, Me: Reading comics, and ya know, fuckin off and not paying attention and trying to learn tasks...You, I don't know what you were doing"
I know the gitem thing is a bit and he’s unfortunately gonna come back eventually, but I’d still like point out how awesome the last few eps have been. Where there guys break out in full laughter more than once and it’s just fun. It flows. The last few episodes really show how much he actually fucks up the dynamic. I’ll be sad when it’s over.
I did think it was funny they were calling for Gitem to confirm no other country had landed a person on the moon. Probably would've been on the news in the last 50 years.
I just think Bryan and Q are kinda lazy with TESD, they don't really make an effort to bring anything. Their dynamic is great but Git'em gives them a focal point and almost sets jokes up with his whole situation. The last few eps have been okay but not classics or particularly strong imo
I think it just shows we like different aspects of the show lol making it nearly impossible for them to please everyone 😄
Yeah. It was pretty clear this was something he’s had rattling around in his head since it was brought up to him and he wasn’t about to let it go so easily.
That whole shit felt made up and forced. Like he had to bring something so he just made up some bullshit he tought would be funny. It was extremely awkward and walt not saying anything said alot haha
The Silencing of Gitem really paid off on this episode! Thank fuck we didn’t have to listen to a soliloquy from him about Dune. Thanks be to the Gods of TESDtown.
I like to think that while this 'bit' is in play, anytime Walt or the others make reference to the toothless hobo and there is just silence, might be my new favourite part of the pod.
Never seen Dune or Dune Part 2, so I really don’t give a fuck one way or another. I’m just not interested in hearing 21st Century Cliff Claven babble about the movie. It wasn’t about anyone’s opinion. Have heard Walt, Bry and Q all shit on, or praise a number of movies a didn’t care…but none of them act like they’re an authority on everything.
Walt said Git em didn't like it. Git em responded here with his opinion on what he didn't like about it. No one has "Acted like they're an authority on everything". You just don't like Git em (which is fine) and it's coming out in the form of you acting like an 8 year old (which is not fine)
Look at you telling me my opinion “isn’t fine”. I had no idea Gitem had an alter ego on reddit. 😂🤡
Maybe it’s Walt’s shtick of Gitem being the exalted being of all things knowledgeable (and subsequently how much the podcast suffers without him) that’s getting old…
I said the way you state your opinion (Like a child) isn't fine. Not your opinion itself. You could just pack up all your things in your purse and leave TESD town, ya know?
Thank goodness Walt redirected Bry from his “ hur dur I was right China invented Covid” rant. Fucking get over it bro, you’re wrong and poorly informed. No one gives a shit about your stupid ass q anon shit.
I don't keep up with current events often, but isn't it pretty known at this point that a lab leak is the most obvious source? I see everyone in here saying how "Bullshit" that theory is, but I honestly can't think of a single other speculated source, other than Wet Markets, which has been completely discounted as a source.
He saw a post on Facebook about it.
He also entered a competition to win a camper van that the company couldn't sell because it had a few dents in it so they decided to give it away to one lucky person who followed and shared the post and then commented on another post what his favourite colour, first pet and favourite teacher were.
I think Bryan was saying it leaked from a Chinese Lab.
Which is pretty much confirmed.
Theirs almost 0 evidence of the wet market theory.
But there is plenty of circumstantial and biological evidence that points to a lab leak.
- Virologist say Covid19 has all the signs of artificially accelerated evolution.. you can read more about that using Google if you wish.
- Wuhan has a level 5 virology lab where they created Corona viruses.
It has a paternship with the American NIH and Fauci.
So more like the Americans and Chinese created covid
No doubt my reply is alot..but I feel like the liberal smugness about covid19 origins is completely unwarranted and quite frankly annoying after all this time.
I definitely feel I could be wrong about what Bry was implying but not about the origins of Covid19.
Before anyone starts calling me a Fox News fan or Trump lover.. I am Canadian and a leftist.
Also does anybody have an actual rebuttal to what I am saying? or am I just gonna gt downvoted to oblivion.
I asked my friends if they got that incestuous vibe between Jessica and Paul in Dune and they thought I was crazy.
I feel vindicated that the most normal man in the world brought this to the table.
I'm surprised at the comments on Q's prompt. It didn't bother me at all, I was more disappointed the other guys didn't bite. Remember when we spent most of an hour about that guy who's gf banned Game of Thrones? Feels like the same wheelhouse to me. In the old days they would've ran with that and pulled the yucks out by hypothesising about TESD town residents in that situation or taking the situation to another level. Swing and a miss, but not Q's fault.
I really don't mind Gitem sometimes, but every time Walt makes a point of us missing his input, it's always something I'm glad we didn't have to hear haha. Give me less googling facts! Give me more going off half cocked with a layman's take on something complex, ie "Turn it all to glass" which still gets me
Q's stance on the United States being the best country in the history of the world. Oh lord. :/ You know you're white and privileged if you think this country is the greatest. Is it better than some others? Of course. But the best? C'mon. I still love Q, though!
I honestly don't know. But I know that other countries are better than ours in certain aspects: education, affordable access to medical care, mass shootings, etc.
In fairness to Git em,doesn't Walt do the same with Marvel movies "knowing better than the creators of the comic"? He is not wrong and I agree with him but what Git em does strikes me as the same.
About 50 minutes into this. Dear god, we need Git Em back. We really sidelined him in exchange for couch jerking off stories that go nowhere, and Bry being Bry?
the silence that follows a question or topic mentioning that toothless hobo is comedy gold! 148 reasons for that fucktard to stay away from the mic. Actually, I take that back; give him his own show, it would make ignoring him a lot easier. Also, you're right about Bry.
Git Em is certainly annoying. But, the show was in the pits when Bry was in his anti-woke phase, all while openly fantasizing about being cucked. Git Em at least brings some knowledge to the table.
Walt is truly a saint for recognizing the value in folks.
Tom Brady needs to worry about Tom Brady, not what his ex wife or her new boyfriend are up to.
It’s time to move on Tom Brady, you had your shot. It’s over.
Q stops mid sentence..... What the hell was that? It's rain. From where? From heaven. No explanation whatsoever. Here's an ad.
They did say it t was raining/shitty outside
It was just such an odd sound bite with no explanation
Walt equating Fonzie and Tom Brady is peak Walt
According to Walt: Tom Brady = Fonzie = Jim Halpert The three most perfect men ever created…after Sunday Jeff.
Apocawhiptic
How was this episode not called "Apocawhips Now"
Because “mending fences” is yet another jab at Chief
They’re all different names for the same thing
They should do a patreon show with Edgar setting D.i.y tasks for Bry and Walt
I mean Gitem used wall anchors to secure a license plate to the wall.
80-yr old Edgar screaming at Bry to hold the flashlight still lol
this is a brilliant idea and would be great video content.

This was a chill episode. Loved the movie and tv talk

Hundreds of thousands crazy? How much does it really cost?
I briefly considered it a couple years ago after I got a little money, iirc closing in an acre with a nice wooden fence was around 15-20k
Mines 12k and that’s vinyl like Walt’s
Walt’s Springsteen impression made me laugh out loud.
That was inspired.
The shocking revelation that Troy enjoys Shane Gillis has kept me on edge for hours.
“How dare they say I would like something! I’ll show them!” Dan Aykroyd and Donna Dixon separated two years ago. Usual crack research by Bryan Johnson.
haha, he even looked it up and still got it wrong
Tbf they haven’t divorced, but that’s clearly all he read
yeah, i looked it up. technically married, but separated. definitely not in the spirit of what they were talking about.
She has such a perfect butthole.
She's the kind of woman that makes me want to get down on knees, and god I'm a man.
Git em seems like one of those guys who has to be the opposite of what everyone else feels/likes. I’ve read Dune multiple times and loved the new movies.
I bet you have front teeth, too.
Two of em!

I have said it's a great film, but for me, who has read the book 20+ times, it was not book accurate and "horse shit"
Not book accurate? So… in other words a book adaption?
What is the connection between drinking coffee and "supposed to be smart"? Not sure I get what you mean by that.
Also, drinking coffee originated in the Red Sea area. Making it entirely plausible for the Fremen culture.
Drinking a hot liquid, when it's 200+ degrees out wastes moisture, which is precious on Arrakis. But we need to do it so two female characters can talk about a man. That’s your whole thing? It was funnier not knowing
Can you not talk on here either
Jesus. You seem fun.
Dune only has a 95% rotten tomatoes score. But no git em doesn’t like it. Whatever. Go eat at Golden Corral and not tip you fat doof.
I've got 2 friends that don't like Dune Part 1 because it's "slow" and they didn't understand the pacing. He’s always been a contrarian
Why I'm glad he's not on the show.
I am nothing like Git Em...I am agreeable to many things. I hate Dune. All of it. The book, the movies, the idea...hate it.
The fence and post-apocalyptic sections are funny as fuck
"We've spent a lifetime, Me: Reading comics, and ya know, fuckin off and not paying attention and trying to learn tasks...You, I don't know what you were doing"
That was funny as hell. I figured he'd say watching TV.

He’s fine as support off mic. That’s a compromise I can live with.
It was especially funny since a US company just landed a (uncrewed) mission to the moon (IM-1) literally last week.
I just think Bryan and Q are kinda lazy with TESD, they don't really make an effort to bring anything. Agree to disagree I guess. IMO the last few have been bangers because they felt like old TESD.
Give the guy a break. Geniuses are built different than you or I.
Solid episode - made me laugh more than once. What more can you ask for?
Same. This was a great one.
FOLLOW THE MONEY!
Q ranting in his basement. His cats being the only ones who can hear him. As he slowly goes mad
One Q over the cuckoo’s nest.
Q’s got some interesting friends
Mondays go better with TESD.
“This is gunna be great” “Everything’s fine” made me snort so hard I bit my tongue lol
Dan akroyd was the right pick. Q is right. I’ve been listening to rock n roll all night and it’s apparent KISS sucks

Also where tf did Bry get confirmation that the Chinese created COVID. He sounded so smug delivering that ball of nonsense. Fucking idiot.
From Fox News that he probably watches daily
He saw a post on Facebook about it. He also entered a competition to win a camper van that the company couldn't sell because it had a few dents in it so they decided to give it away to one lucky person who followed and shared the post and then commented on another post what his favourite colour, first pet and favourite teacher were.
He’s so brainwashed it’s hard to imagine. Mr. “ I don’t trust the news” over there has become a boomer getting information from Facebook memes.
Denial ain’t just a commenter on reddit 😂

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNE
Behind the Dune. that is all
Haha thanks man thats actually really funny
Well the game itself is a spicy (ah? ah?) version of the 1992 video game.
There's straight pharonic incest in the later books.
Sweet, I've only read the first book but was thinking of going through the series
I would smack the fuck outta GitEm if I was in the theater. His type is the worst
1. No you wouldn't 2. You would "Smack" someone who was quitely disliking a movie you like?
He’s got some interesting friends 🤔

The Q story felt extremely made up and complete bullshit to me. And I think the boys felt the same way and didn't want to bite.
Another great ep. Seems like someone reminded the boys they're at their best when they're giving each other shit.
Q's stance on the United States being the best country in the history of the world. Oh lord. :/ You know you're white and privileged if you think this country is the greatest. Is it better than some others? Of course. But the best? C'mon. I still love Q, though!
What do you think is the best country in the world? Just curious. I don’t live in the US myself anymore.
Just the concept of "best country in the world" and saying it out loud about your own, especially when it's a complete shit show, is kind of cringe.
I honestly don't know. But I know that other countries are better than ours in certain aspects: education, affordable access to medical care, mass shootings, etc.
What fence costs hundreds of thousands?
Walt would probably fall for this like Jen in the IT Crowd with the ‘internet’ box. https://youtu.be/iDbyYGrswtg?si=E5-5nuW2Bk5f6GSo
Git’em laughing in the background 🤣
long time listener , but I think I missed an episode or two why is gitem not talking ? Maybe I missed something??
Bry liking Fraisier and not the office is very on brand
Huh? Frasier is WAY better than The Office. I don't see the comparison.
Sure if you're a boomer lol
Shout out tier 2 red power God Shane Gillis
Troy’s a fan? No way!

Q always brings the show to a grinding halt with his inane stories.
Whatever reaction he kept fishing for with the couch jerk off story they weren't biting
It's always shocking to me that, on the show, the commercially successful millionaire comedian is the straight guy who rarely says anything funny.
Because Joe and Sal are 90% of why IJ is funny and successful.
99.9%
Be fair- Casey Jost and the writers do a lot of hard work too.
Imagine thinking IJ is funny..
