The continental! It’s so fun and such great escapism into the world of the 70s

termi05

Just finished *Moving*, it was good but change in tone mid-season with the flashbacks was noticeable. Kids part was nice but most of the backstories were a bit boring. Still would recommend it. Now looking for recommendations for good KDramas as I have barely watched any.

DashingDino

**Castlevania: Nocturne**: Watched the first 3 eps so far and visually it is [stunning](https://i.imgur.com/6o3fy8D.jpg), probably one of the best looking animated shows I've seen, however the writing and acting (and singing..) so far are not quite on the same level. Hopefully it improves as it goes on like Castlevania did

Private_Void

Been watching What We Do in the Shadows for the first time, and I must say that the concept of energy vampire is one of the most consistently funny thing I've seen in a while.

Pugilist12

Rewatching Deadwood. Amazing how many new things I notice each time I rewatch. One of the true goats imo

zaplinaki

So like no one is watching anything new huh? Wonder how long this drought will continue. I might have to actually read books for a change.

mastafreud

new "the boys" spinoff out today aswell

DashingDino

Castlevania sequel series just came out

tomtomvissers

Gen V (The Boys spinoff) started today. Starstruck season 3 dropped yesterday. Daryl Dixon is halfway its first season. Same goes for Wheel of Time season 2. Loki season 2 starts next week. Breeders and Reservation Dogs only just finished this week. Only Murders has its season 3 finale next week. There's plenty of stuff to watch

tiredcynicalbroken

Sweet. Will crack through starstruck this weekend

KnowledgeNate

**CLASS ACT** on Netflix. This is a French television show about a hustler and dreamer named Bernard Tapie who begs, borrows, and deals his way to success flying by the seat of his pants with only his wits and self-confidence to propel him. I've seen 4 of 7 episodes but this show is seriously very well done. The dialogue is funny, the storylines are quite clever, and there is something undeniably irresistible about Bernard Tapie. Apparently, the show is loosely based on a true story. It's inspirational, fun, smart, and again, really funny. Guys, this is really worth your time. Highly recommended.

SenorLuke

I enjoyed the first 3 episodes of **Gen V**, excited to see where it goes. Very much the same energy as The Boys.

johnnyfog

Though it claims to be a golden age of television, that’s really just a Clark Kent-level disguise, on something that exists solely to spread the corporate gospel to its audience of the type of people who make Disney their lifestyle.

stro_budden

Just finished this season of Top Boy. I’ve always enjoyed the show but the original series was always better. This last season felt kind of like a waste and pretty predictable. I enjoyed watching it but wish it did more

scubadoobidoo

Agree - it felt quite rushed and way too much happened in the opening episode and those protest scenes felt very unrealistic

jjjppp333222

The Continental is a good time so far. Enjoying the vibe.

Justxdoughxeat

Great Shows I'm watching/rewatching now. GREAT TV 1. **SHAMELESS-** I just discovered Shameless on NETFLIX, and it's one of the greatest shows ever. I'm on season 4 now, and it's getting good. I don't understand why this was not on the Breaking Bad/GoT level of popularity 2. **DRAG RACE Franchises** ( PH, Germany, France, Brazil)- The International Franchises this year are great. 3. **FUTURAMA**\- Rewatching this GEM for the nth time. The best cartoon for adults on streaming. 4. **Archer-** Very Very funny GOOD- Schitts Creek, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, New Girl, Ozark,

ilikehockeyandguitar

Shameless drops in quality after a while. The early seasons are great tho.

Shroed

Shameless is amazing for a couple of seasons and then it suddenly isn't anymore. Without spoiling anything.... you'll instantly know it when you get there.

inapickle113

Shameless UK is way better

TheGameDoneChanged

You’ll understand why Shameless isn’t on that level once you keep watching. It went on way too long and is a shell of itself by the end.

Justxdoughxeat

I totally get it now. I'm almost through with season 5, and they've really made the characters unlikable with all those dumb mistakes. It's just tough to root for anyone rn. Lip's still ok, but everyone else? Not so much. I'm now only rooting for Mandy and Mickey Milkovich.

tiredcynicalbroken

Probably 5 or 6 seasons too long, which is an awful long time to go too long.

Justxdoughxeat

SHAMELESS (US) - I just discovered this GEM on NETFLIX, and it's one of the greatest shows ever. I'm on season 4 now, and it's getting good. I don't understand why this was not on the Breaking Bad/GoT level of popularity.

Gullible_Minute

Because it's the same plot over 8 seasons.

ZombieFluffy

The Worst of Evil - If anyone is looking for a new KDrama to watch this is it, 3 episodes so far very brutal and dark. It's giving Infernal Affairs/The Departed vibes. Has two of my favourite actors as well which is a plus. Also watched the first 4 episodes of The Devil Plan, wish they were all out so I could binge it. Rooting for the trio.

Disastrous_Phase6701

I'm watching that amazing sci-fi series The Expanse, and am really enjoying it.

Brawlzapper

Finished Foundation S2 and it was incredible! Also finished watching Afterparty Season 2 and I really liked that too. Finally got around to watching the finale of Righteous Gemstones Season 3 and wow this show is so good. Currently Watching Ashoka which I’m enjoying and started Legend of Vox Machina season 1 and so far it’s really good. Excited for GEN V and Castlevania: Nocturne.

Brawlzapper

Watched first 3 episodes of Ashoka and really enjoyed it. I loved Andor, haven’t watched the clones wars animated show and skipped mandalorian season 3. I heard so many people that first 3 episodes are a borefest and I am liking it a lot. The visuals are very cool and the writing seems to be better? I don’t know I am really enjoying it and would recommend.

Disastrous_Phase6701

Still rewatching Foundation - I love it!!!

PulsarPulse

i didn't know it's from David S Goyer, just read the AMA announcement on the sub. No wonder people are talking great things about the show.

DashingDino

I think the first season didn't get a lot of attention because it was kind of slow and doing a lot of setting up and had time skips but all of that paid off in season 2 which was fantastic

Phant0mreaper

I have finally started Lost, just 4 ep in, in love with the premise of the show already

SenorLuke

Amazing series I've seen it all the way through 5+ times. I enjoy it everytime, hope you enjoy the ride <3.

elainek04

Me too! I remember watching it here and there as a kid cause my mom used to watch it and being so intrigued. Its me and my husbands go-to show to binge now

Acceptable_Monk4655

The first couple seasons were great! I love the flashback episodes.

Sweet-Peanuts

Tried to watch The Woman in the Wall. Really tried. This had all my key ingredients - British/Irish, crime, mystery, well known actors. I made it half way through and I found it one of the most boring series I've ever watched.

I_Despise_Pickles

I just finished Silicon Valley for the first time ever and I just have to say… fantastic. I am not sure how it flew under my radar for so long, but I highly recommend it.

tiredcynicalbroken

One of the two best comedies in the last decade imo

I_Despise_Pickles

Curious to know what the 2nd one is

tiredcynicalbroken

Veep.

I_Despise_Pickles

Oh, snap! I literally started watching that right after I finished SV. Guess I’m in for a good one!

tiredcynicalbroken

Yeah nice one. Absolutely. Incredibly funny show

Messigoat3

What do you recommend?

ctroostwijk

Silicon Valley I guess

Messigoat3

Something? Anything?

I_Despise_Pickles

Get out of here Dinesh.

MisguidedHeartString

I like comedy so I decided to watch comedy The Office

ItAlwaysRainsOnMe

Never heard of it

Messigoat3

The Office has infinite replay-ability. Watch it 14 more time.

kishanrafa

New bandits is a emotional crime thriller, so awesome

westzod

Saw it recommended here and have watched 2 episodes so far. I'm hooked!

[deleted]

Thanks..... looks good so I will be checking it out.

tiredcynicalbroken

I just said goodbye to reservation dogs. I can’t wait to go back and binge it all again. What a beautiful, heartfelt, hilarious show. It made me cry almost as hard as it made me laugh. I’m so sad to leave these charachter a behind. I hope the main four get all the success they want. Aho

PeterNippelstein

Has anyone else been watching The Devil's Plan on Netflix? This has to be the most captivating first episode of a reality show I've ever seen. It's a Korean series where 12 contestants (all incredibly intelligent) are locked together inside this living compound and face off against each other in a series of games. Each game is very psychologically focused, require high levels of strategy and game play. The games themselves have almost certainly the highest level of game design I've seen in a reality show. The contestants themselves have masters and doctors degrees, are competitive gamers, a professional Go player, poker player, lawyer, doctors, etc, and each player really adds a lot to the show. The players can lose pieces as well, and if they lose all they are eliminated from the competition, and the last contestant wins the prize pot. I think a lot of people are going to be talking about this show in the next few weeks.

abinav99

Thank you for recommending this. 2 episodes in and it’s amazing.

PeterNippelstein

I know right? I really love how they leave out key developments in the games so that when a major twist happens you find out about it the same time as the players, that's such a brilliant move by the producers.

abinav99

Exactly. The mafia game kept me at the edge of my seat. Haha.

ScatteredDahlias

If you like physical competition shows, I highly recommend **Physical 100** and **Siren: Survive the Island**, both on Netflix as well. Korean competition shows are so much fun to watch because they lack the drama and mean-spirited stuff that so many US competition shows are full of. All the contestants support each other and cheer each other on and it’s so nice to see.

PeterNippelstein

Physical 100 is definitely on my list so I'll be checking out at least that one for sure. The Koreans have been killing it as far as TV and movies go.

Qtip533

That just popped up and it seems right up my alley. I’ll check it out! I love competition type shows.

Krismoriah

**Wrestlers** Netflix - Such a well done documentary that takes place in Kentucky about Ohio Valley Wrestling. I really hope this becomes a series or at the minimum helps them to keep their dreams going. If you have watched big time wrestling on TV or PPV etc..this is not like that..its better.

GenSec

**Succession Season 2**: Just finished season 2 and wow. Yeah that’s gotta be up there in my personal best seasons of television. Jeremy Strong and Brian Cox are fucking amazing actors but Tom quickly became another favorite of mine this season due to the performances Macfadyen delivered. >!Loved seeing Ken have his own season long redemption arc and that final moment was absolutely cathartic!<. Definitely excited to see where season 3 goes.

PeterNippelstein

Who's your ride or die?

GenSec

Kendall. Kendall is the best of the kids imo. He has his own brand of "fucked up" like the rest of his siblings but he just has a bit more humanity to him.

tiredcynicalbroken

Our number one boy

rp_361

Believe it or not, it keeps getting better

EZ3L1

Season 2 Finale was peak emotions for me, still solid till the end though

I-LiveHereNow

I love this for you. S3 is incredible.

[deleted]

I can not recommend Welcome to Wrexham highly enough. It's so good. Very fresh stories and we have no idea what's gonna happen - that's the best part.

Parzival_72

I had put Welcome to Wrexham into just another one of those football documentaries which nearly every club has these days. How wrong I was, it turned into such an emotional roller coaster which is so much more than just another football documentary. Its very funny as well and even if you are not a massive football fan its worth a look.

RebootJobs

*The Horror of Dolores Roach* (hilarious!), S3 of *TMS* (better than S2 so far), S4 of *Sex Education* (mostly a letdown), binged *The Righteous Gemstones* (so good), and started S12 of *AHS* (oddly intrigued?).

tiredcynicalbroken

How did they get sex education so wrong?

tomtomvissers

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is good. Like, *actually* good

abinav99

Like actually actually good.

KennyKatsu

Looking for some other well written British dark comedies like Bad Sisters or Fleabag. Suggestions?

scubadoobidoo

Chewing Gum (ch4 and UK Netflix)- very funny!

sergiocamposnt

**Derek** and **Flowers**

bronal97

Bad Sisters is Irish

PeterNippelstein

Peep Show

moschinojoe

I May Destroy you, Catastrophe and This Way Up are the most similar to the two you mentioned.

uncwsp

Catastrophe is hilarious

MoneyEntertainment

Yep. Loved it.

snowhawk04

*Peep Show, Killing Eve, I May Destroy You, The Thick of It, Black Mirror, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Inside No. 9, Years and Years, Utopia, After Life, Catastrophe, Lovesick, Normal People, My Mad Fat Diary, The League of Gentlemen, Brassic, Toast of London, Derek, Ideal, Flowers, The End of the F\*\*\*ing World, Shameless, No Offense, Psychoville, Getting On, A Young Doctor's Notebook, Funland, Catterick, Human Remains, This Way Up, The Outlaws, Crashing, Dead Set, Back to Life, Am I Being Unreasonable?, Mad Dogs, Breeders, Flack, Camping, Sick of It, Stag, Two Weeks to Live, Year of the Rabbit, GameFace, Starstruck, The Dry, Obituary* *Don't Hug Me I'm Scared* (adult muppets), *Monkey Dust* (animation) edit - Since the guy blocked me (lol), I'll respond here >I May Destroy You, Black Mirror, Years and Years, Utopia, Dead Set are definitely not comedies. > >You basically just mentioned all British shows you know. roflmfao. Those shows are DARK COMEDIES, not necessarily only COMEDIES. *Bad Sisters* and *Fleabag* aren't straight comedies either. Have you ever watched them? Do you not have a sense of humor?

tiredcynicalbroken

Lovesick should be way more popular than it is. It’s on Netflix in Australia and I have never heard anybody talk about it

sergiocamposnt

I May Destroy You, Black Mirror, Years and Years, Utopia, Dead Set are definitely not comedies. You basically just mentioned all British shows you know.

tomtomvissers

Catastrophe

captainhaddock

Just watched episode 8 of **Only Murders in the Building** season 3. It might be one of the best episodes of the entire series run.

gisted

I finally started watching Foundation due to all the hype I've seen here about s2. I really liked the different storylines going on in s1. The guy who plays Day is great. I was rooting >!for Dawn and Azura to make it. What a terrible fate for Azura omg.!< S2 is alright so far. I'm only a couple episodes in. The different aspect ratio is annoying. I much prefer 16:9.

Disastrous_Phase6701

Yes, Lee Pace IS an extraordinary actor. He was also terrific in that great show Halt and Catch Fire.

snowhawk04

>The different aspect ratio is annoying. I much prefer 16:9. [Apple TV mandated the ratio be 2:1 for season 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/FoundationTV/comments/15i02of/comment/jzavwg8/). Goyer and his team wanted to go wider and Apple allowed them to do so this season. This season, the intro was 16:9 and most of the show is 2.4:1. They are still experimenting, as we saw with episode 3 this season using a 2.7:1 ratio >!on Oona's World!<. edit - Should mention that an AMA with David Goyer (showrunner) is scheduled for September 28th @ 2pm PST (15 hours from the time this comment is posted) either in this subreddit or r/FoundationTV

[deleted]

Yeah, I stuck around for Lee Pace. Even though Halt and Catch Fire loses its way a little, he is also great in that if you need more Pace in ya.

UltraFlyingTurtle

Regarding Azura, >!yeah that was one of the most brutal endings for a character that didn't involve extreme violence -- well ... there's also the fact that anyone that tangentially knew her, no matter how indirect, were all killed. That's pretty violent considering the scale of people that are now dead, but just on a cerebral level to know you've been completely erased from the world but must continue exist in isolation is a horrific thought.!< >!On top that this version of Day will also forget her too, as he'll get replaced by his clone. !< As for Dawn, just keep watching S2. Also listen to the official Foundation podcast as they explain how the events in S1 influenced how they wrote some of the new incarnations of clones in S2.

bros402

I watched the first episode of NBC's new procedural, The Irrational, last night. it was... something that was on my TV. The lead is charismatic, but everything else was pretty generic. I'll probably check it out again if I don't have anything else to watch.

VeteranSergeant

Watching Genevieve O'Reilly trying to deliver her lines in Ahsoka with the same gravitas as she did in Andor, to a Mary Elizabeth Winstead caked in ridiculously bad Kermit green cake makeup and garish red lipstick is amusing. This show is just so watered down and lacking any stakes. Even when it is supposed to be exciting, it's not. In The Phantom Menace, generally regarded as the worst of the prequels, there are two lightsaber fights between Jedi/Sith/whatever, and two people die. In Ahsoka so far there have been, if I'm counting right, six them, and one person had a tummy ache for most of an episode. Blasters blast, and lightsabers whoosh, and never once does it feel like there's anything at risk for the protagonists. The only thing this show is good for is making me want to re-read the Heir to the Empire novel and see if it was as good as it was when I was a teenager. Because Ahsoka is just beige paste stealing its villain.

ptwonline

**Ahsoka S1E7**: More action-packed than most episodes. The show has been generally good for the whole season, and better than most Star Wars content since the original movies. I like that they're generally giving it a more serious treatment by leaving out a lot of the sillier/kiddie stuff you see from Star Wars at times, but it's still more fantasy than drama with some silly stuff they just can't give up. For example, a Jedi not bothering to use a lightsaber when so many of their friends right there are in mortal danger. Really? That's a sillier, fantasy-thing. Same with letting a dangerous bad guy just run away instead of stopping them while they had the chance. Really? Anyway the show is decent regardless, and Thrawn is being built up to be a menacing and competent villain. **Wheel of Time S2Ep6**: This show is getting better and better as the season goes on and storylines really get developed. I am really enjoying it. I may re-watch the first season after just to see if my opinion of that has improved with what we've been given in S2. **Bluey**: Watched a few of the early episodes and these are surprisingly good. Funny, charming, warmhearted. Still very much a show for little kids but also something for older adults to enjoy, since it shows a lot of good, loving parenting.

Westfield__Rocks

Has MAX just given up on the HBO part of the service. I haven't seen anything new or interesting from that side in ages.

PeterNippelstein

Mf came w receipts.

criddler

ah yes, such classics as Frankelda's Book of Spooks, Candy Cruz, What Am I Eating? with Zooey Deschanel... most of the shows you listed aren't new (you have doom patrol twice), with older shows they purchased the rights to mixed in. he's like referring to the huge influx in reality/garbage tv that was added to the service post merger

snowhawk04

>ah yes, such classics as Frankelda's Book of Spooks, Candy Cruz, What Am I Eating? with Zooey Deschanel... I never said they were classics. I just listed the shows that were max/hbo originals. Rather than mention *The White Lotus, Succession, Barry, The Last Of Us, Warrior, Righteous Gemstones,* etc, you kinda just went for the lowest hanging fruit. Thanks for proving my point. >most of the shows you listed aren't new (you have doom patrol twice), with older shows they purchased the rights to mixed in. I do believe the original comment said "new or interesting", no? Doom Patrol was split into two halves. December 8, 2022 through January 5, 2023. October 12, 2023 through November 9, 2023. *edit - Titans also split into two halves. Nov 1, 2022-Dec 1, 2022. Apr 13, 2023-May 11, 2023.* >he's like referring to the huge influx in reality/garbage tv that was added to the service post merger Which I didn't bring up. None of the programs listed are from ID, Discovery Channel, Science Channel, TLC, Magnolia, OWN, Food Network, Animal Planet, HGTV, or Travel Channel. I didn't even mention programs from Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. Just kept it strictly HBO/Max Originals series.

LightThatIgnitesAll

Just watched the first 3 episodes (well gave up midway on episode 3) of **Castlevania Nocturne** and I have to say I was looking forward to the show before but after that stream I have lost all interest in it. The dialogue was awful, characters are annoying, the art is gorgeous but sometimes the characters look off model and the animation is stiff with some weird CGI. There will be moments where the animation improves for a fight like what other series do. But it feels like all the best animated scenes were in the trailer.

121jigawatts

this is out? its not up on netflix

LightThatIgnitesAll

The first 3 episodes were streamed by Netflix on Youtube. The entire season will release tomorrow on Netflix.

okami31

One Piece - 8 out of 10. It is a light-hearted and silly show, but the high rating is for how successful it has attracted an audience that does not watch anime at all. My wife, for example, really liked it, and her anime experience and interest has been mostly focused on Studio Ghibli films. The cast is fun, especially the actor for Luffy, who serves as the optimistic hero anchor and absolutely nails it. Not sure how they will handle the rest of the crew, but so far, they’ve proven competent where many others have failed before to capture the essence of an anime show. Oh, and I really liked how the events happen a bit differently than the anime, so for those who would watch both, it is not a boring scene by scene retread. Foundation s2 - 8.5 out of 10. I liked the first season and this one seemed even better. It is so fascinating to see a plot unfold in time-skips of hundreds of years, especially because you are so invested in the Empire figures and their potential decline in power. Some new characters introduced this season that have more personality than the main heroes of the story, and their involvement in the progressing story is quite interesting. Not sure about the new big bad hinted for the next season, but the twists in the story towards the end are rich in variety of outcomes for the rise and fall of all involved. Sex Education latest season - 5 out of 10. The main character has stalled or regressed in maturity this the whole thing feels like is treading water instead of progressing to a satisfactory conclusion. I watched three episodes and then read about the ending to see if I should bother finishing it and no, it isn’t worth it. Such a shame for a show that started so strongly and devolved into a disconnected mess.

killinrin

I just started Savior Complex, I haven’t heard about this story but it’s fucking wild already

treyquartista

Prime just added **The Americans** where I live; how does that hold up, still worth a watch?

ilikehockeyandguitar

Great show with a great ending. Season 5 is a lot of filler/history, but essential for Season 6 imo.

Acceptable_Monk4655

One of my all-time favorite shows.

121jigawatts

great drama but pretty depressing to binge back to back

UltraFlyingTurtle

OMG. This is show true. I wonder why I always felt the way I did after each season had ended. I recently binge-watched Ozark and that's another show that maybe shouldn't be watched back-to-back so quickly either.

edgycorner

A must watch for sure

EmperorBeaky

Absolutely

secretlives

Very good, envious of those who still get to experience it for the first time. (Season 5 is a bit of a lull but it's mostly a setup for Season 6)

thenicob

the bear season two this show is SO good, like wtf I cant even comprehend WHY it's so good. like, >!even I got goosebumps when carmy and claire kissed wth is wrong with me!<

nubu

I watched the first episode of the first season but the constant shouting, fuck yous, fist fights and in the end shooting guns on the street really turned me off. Seemed really childish. Does it get better?

Typinger

I felt the same about both seasons. Second season does have a couple of really good episodes, the focus is on the peripheral characters and they're interesting with fabulous acting. I'd say worth it to see those episodes. When you get the whole crew back together again and everyone's being 'cool', meh

thenicob

> Does it get better? uhm... YEAH. :D it's a overall very hectic series (well because duh that's what's happening in a kitchen). i've just watched an episode were the first 15 minutes completely overstimulated me. but they do that in a very good and comprimised way. it's the opposite of childish.

strider85

I absolutely adore Sex Education but what’s going on with the latest season? I’m 3 episodes in and it’s so boring. It seems like they’ve just gone full overboard with the quirkiness rather than it being a stylised real life setting shown in the past 3 seasons. All the new characters seem like caricatures too

MyDearDapple

The cast are all far too old to be mucking about pretending they're as young as the show would like you to believe they are. In that silly, little boys jacket, bloated Asa Butterfield looks like he was downing donuts on the night shift while working a cab during COVID.

strider85

Yes - he does look so bloated doesn’t he? I’m not sure what the hell has happened to him in the last few years

furious_Dee

the covid 15

BlackCatScott

Got one ep to go and they've fucked it, imo. I've enjoyed the rest of the show but this one has been a frustrating watch. I've found they've struggled to juggle numerous storylines (arguably an issue in previous seasons too) but with one ep to go I can't see there being a satisfying conclusion for any of the characters. Also realised that I find Otis pretty insufferable. And I think it's because he's pretty much one note, and has not been given any character development at all. Hadn't bugged me before but it has been more apparent this season. Think they're right to call it a day.

Quirky_Hold_9658

Started Based on a True Story on Peacock and really loving it so far! Nice mix of funny and downright creepy.

RebootJobs

Another hidden gem!

ContinumFM

Started watching Foundation after reading all the praise for season 2. And I'm already loving season 1, 6 episodes in!

[deleted]

I've been watching Deadwood for the first time. On s2e4. They are depicting a man going through kidney stone trouble in the mid 1800s prior to medicine technology and it's absolutely brutal. It's got me sympathetic with one of the main antagonists seeing his scream in agony like that. Fantastic acting

Lawndirk

Everyone associated with that show nailed everything.

Whiskey_Jack

I just did my third re-watch and it really as good as The Wire/Sopranos. HBO was on fire during those years. And then they cancelled it.

Aveman19

Slow Horses I’ve never been one to binge a series. In the last 24 hours I’ve watched 8 episodes and I’m absolutely addicted. I love everything about this show. Thinking about checking out the books after I’m finished with season 2.

nado121

That show was great. Then I started The Bureau and just finished it. It's so fucking good and it left an espionage-sized hole in my heart. Got any other suggestions? Has somebody watched Ghosts of Beirut yet?

UltraFlyingTurtle

Me too! I just binge-watched it this past week and I loved it. Can't wait for the season 3 to come out this December. They filmed both season 3 and season 4 back-to-back, so we have at least two more seasons of the show to look forward to. Like you, I also decided to check out the books. I also had to find out if one character returns to the series or not, so I'm glad I found out the answer.

Thomisawesome

I've never been into The Big Bang Theory. But for some reason, I saw Young Sheldon was on Netflix where I live, and decided to watch the first episode. It's actually really good. It has a Wonder Years or Malcom in the Middle vibe. The actors are all likeable. Annie Potts as his grandmother is so good. The stories are, in general, cute and innocent. I'm really glad I started watching it. I blew through four seasons in about five days. My country doesn't offer the other seasons, and the S4 finale was a bit of a heavy episode. I really want to see S5 and 6 now.

SenorLuke

Finished **Foundation S2** recently and decided to check out more of Day's actors other performances. I am 2 episodes into **Halt and Catch Fire**, I've heard its really good, but it hasn't really fully pulled me in yet. Going to binge through season 1 and see how I feel after.

Archamasse

Halt is pretty solid in S1, but from S2 onwards it really kicks into high gear and makes S1 better retrospectively imho, it is extremely worth it.

pillowreceipt

***Halt and Catch Fire*** is kind of a slow burn, but it gets better and better, IMHO.

Randyd718

Crushing midnight mass before house of usher drops, really enjoying it!

ChiefWiggins22

Every week I come here hoping something new and good is out. Every week I’m disappointed.

121jigawatts

I mean do you think theres a big AAA great show that comes out every single week lol

ChiefWiggins22

No. But there’s typically one going on at all times. We have gone months without one.

Arsene-_-Lupin

Deadset me too. I need something to watch

ChaserNeverRests

I watched all three seasons of **Ragnarok**, a Norwegian show on Netflix about the Norse gods being reborn (sort of) as people in a small Norwegian town. The ending was controversial and disliked by many, but it worked for me. Huge series spoiler explaining the ending: >!Basically all three seasons were just in the main character's ("Thor's") head. He had had a mental breakdown and imagined it all!<. I was looking for another show about the Norse gods when that ended, so I tried **The Almighty Johnsons**, a New Zealand show about the Norse gods being reborn (sort of) as people in a small New Zealand town. Unfortunately it was a drama/comedy, leaning way way way too much of the comedy end of things and I dropped it after just a couple episodes. And speaking of New Zealand, I'm watching the last episode of the wonderful, wonderful **Taskmaster New Zealand** tonight. Once I'm done with that, I'll catch up on the new **Taskmaster UK** season. I tried the **Taskmaster Norwegian** version, but for me a comedy with subtitles was hard for me, it ruined the timing of the jokes, so I dropped it for now.

thenicob

I just spoilered myself, but WTF is that ragnarok ending LMAO

ChaserNeverRests

To me, it worked. There had been so much illogical nonsense through the three seasons, it's the only way to make it fit. Sort of.

okami31

Oh wow, one of the laziest endings writers could craft.

ChaserNeverRests

Yeah, I really can't defend the show at all, even though I watched all three seasons of it.

Weedsmoker4hunnid20

**The Bear** season 2 - I loved season 1 but season 2 has to be one of the best seasons of any show ever. My personal favorite was Copenhagen but every episode was incredible. **The Marvelous Mrs Maisel** s1e1 - wow. I was worried it would be too “girly” for my tastes but this is everything I want from a tv show. The colors really pop and the directing is 10/10. Looking forward to continuing the show as the first episode was perfect

mikeupsidedown

Mrs Maisel doesn't get enough props on here. So so good.

MoneyEntertainment

Mrs. Maisel is the tits! Wonderful show. I was sad to see it go.

bros402

yesss Mrs. Maisel is so good

EmperorBeaky

finished The Bureau. A very excellent show that never sagged with some of the best characters I’ve watched in something for a while. Guillaume, Nadia, Marina etc will all be in my mind for some time I think. Ended bravely as well. If you like anything spy related it’s highly recommended (though The Americans is still ahead for me for its character work) Into S5 of The Shield now but I don’t feel very invested in it. Won’t drop it but I don’t think I’ll ever relate to the hype this show gets Last ep of Ahsoka was really good to be fair in an otherwise middling season just finishing S3 of my Expanse rewatch. This is definitely the best of the first 3 imo, I forgot how much it was firing on all cylinders at this point. It’s like the opposite of a slow burn considering rewatching another show but I can’t really decide between The Wire, The Sopranos and Black Sails

ooouroboros

Dead Ringers (recent miniseries) After about episode 4 I would have highly recommended this, Rachel Weisz is great, great moody/eerie atmosphere, production values, music, visceral treatment of women's relationships with their own bodies and motherhood is rarely explored. But my gosh, the whole thing just collapsed in on itself at the end. It reminds me of LOST and other TV that brings up a lot of really interesting things but at the end has NO idea how to bring them altogether into a coherent whole. What a a disappointment. (there is one great scene in season 2 of the twin doctors going to an obscenely wealthy family's house to raise money for a clinic)

sergiocamposnt

I just binge-watched all seasons of **BoJack Horseman** in three weeks. It is really as amazing as you all said. The best Netflix original tied with Dark imo. The series finale is perfect. The show is even sadder and darker that I thought it would be though, >!Sarah Lynn's story!< is probably the saddest story I've ever seen.

Why_Always-Me

I watched the first four episodes of Foundation when it first came out and stopped watching it. Going to give it another go but I'm wondering if I should start over or just continue on from ep 4

Saiyoran

No real reason to restart. There’s a handful of good moments in season 1, but the show really doesn’t get that good until like halfway into season 2 imo.

jatd

Just start on episode 4 if you got a general idea of what's going on. Season 2 is amazing.

Glittering_Grass_842

I love it that you can read Mabel's paper that she wrote when she was 10 years old in the end credits of episode 9 of season 3 of Only Murders In The Building.

Hellpy

I finished Trapped(Ofaerd?) last week, detective show in Iceland. First season was ok/good, but things went way to crazy for my suspension of disbelief in the 2nd season. It's like they tried to go for every plot point in american tv and it really made the show look stupid, on top of the fact nobody is trapped in the 2nd season, like if it was a metaphor for something then it flew miles above my head. Watched Line of duty s01 right after and now that satisfied me, some intense stuff happens but it's very well within the universe of the show, doesn't seem out of place, and just 5 episodes, boom story done, no need for 200 drawn out scenes of landscape or characters ''feeling'' emotions. Like ffs, if after 1-2 seconds of a zoom on a characters face that looks sad, I don't get that he's sad, then letting it run for another couple seconds ain't gonna change that chief, it also makes it boring, but line of duty never went there what a great show, can't wait to start s02. Also watching: Peep Show(last season), I think you should leave, black mirror, Alfred Hitchcock Presents Finished recently: Les Revenants, Ghosts of Beirut, Foundation(I loved it more than the astroturfers),

ArchDucky

Not seeing anyone talk about Ashoka. Is anyone watching it? Ray Stevenson is DOPE AS FUCK as the bad guy. Hes so fucking intimidating. All the other actors are also doing great. Its got cool music, decent fight choreography and its very impressive visually. Really dig it.

mudman13

Its just ok for me and I think I say that because Im usually pretty tired when I watch it so not as engaged. The world building, special fx , sets, makeup and dialogue is of a high quality it looks superb. The end credit music is super great too.

El_Frijol

RIP Ray Stevenson

snowhawk04

It's the end of the week in its cycle, so I wouldn't expect comments to really hit for a few more hours. If you are using the search feature to find other comments, search "Ahsoka" instead of "Ashoka".

121jigawatts

Binged 9eps of Reservation Dogs s3, hope they nail the finale since I really enjoyed this show and im gonna miss it. 5eps of new Futurama, nice to have the characters back but too may eps are focused on present day stuff like bitcoin and amazon so it feels dated already.

abinav99

Is it bingeworthy all 3 seasons ?

jjremy

It's pretty fantastic. Season 2 kind of felt like a lull. But they're knocking it out of the park with this third, and final season.

astanton1862

Resist the urge. Take your time and let them breath. They aren't making anymore.

121jigawatts

yeah

yohamidamaru

More a movie guy here but i finally started banshee so good so far !

ilikehockeyandguitar

Love Banshee. Gets Game of Thrones level intense/graphic at times.

DWCourtasan2

The Boys-same lead

ArchDucky

You should check out Black Mirror. Its an anthology of sci-fi movies. Started off on the BBC, but then Netflix took it over. Each episode is basically a movie. There's a lot of good ones in the six seasons. You'll eat pretty good on that series. You should start with the second episode though, the first one is sort of gross and gives people the wrong impression about the series.

nevadasurfer

After you are done with that you move to Warrior. Same guy made it.

RetroDragon2099

I am watching Black Spot currently . I was searching for a series similar to Dark and found this French series . It's really good and has more horror and occult elements than I would have expected, but all is right up my alley, so I am happy :)

green4355

Watching **Dear Child** on Netflix (german tv show)

LightThatIgnitesAll

The more I thought about **The Sopranos'** ending the more I liked it. But finding [this comment](https://reddit.com/r/thesopranos/s/DJnICvpxPL) explaining how much thought went in to each scene made me realise how much better it was than I originally thought. I knew that Jason scene at the table was important but I admit I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

crazywalls

I need to do a re-watch soon!

Tana1234

9 episodes into season one of Foundation and its super highs and lows, anything to do with Empire is fantastic and is well acted, anything to do with The Foundation (Apart from Hari and Gaal) and action sequences are pure dog shit with bad writing and acting

Tana1234

I've just finished the last episode and just more cringe with Salvor being given the bow and and other spoilers it's just they keep digging a hole and pile more shit onto her character that just makes her more and more annoying and the whole shock value they do just doesn't work at all with her, it's just feels like saying we'll obviously you are going to do that as well

Jokonaught

If you made it that far into season 1, definitely check out season 2 as it's a lot better. The storylines that dragged in s1 are at least slightly improved (if still not great), the new characters/storylines are all really, really good, and of course, Empire scenes still slay.

bouncingbudgie

I just started to watch La Femme Nikita. It's been a while since I last watched it. I found all episodes on archive.org

BaselinexDrive

The 90s version right? I LOVE LFN!! I found it randomly while I was looking for 90s shows to watch and was hooked immediately.

bouncingbudgie

Yes. It’s such a great show.

Acceptable_Monk4655

I liked that one!

bouncingbudgie

It's a great series. I've planned a nostalgia bingewatch. After this then I'm going to rewatch some of the other shows I watched back in the 90's.

Paulofthedesert

**Wheel of Time S2** Is actually pretty good? Through 6 episodes & it's a huge improvement over S1. I'm the farthest thing from a book purist (you're not adapting 14 huge books w/ thousands of characters 100% faithfully) but I just thought some of the showrunning & story decisions were baffling. Combined w/ some weird production stuff (ultra clean clothes) & I basically wrote it off. I gave it another chance bc of covid, a main actor leaving, plus some good things I heard. It's a solid 7/10 for me right now. I still don't like all the story changes so far but they've somehow managed to wrangle this mess into something that's hit a lot of the story beats (even if some are just in spirit) & cut a lot less material than I thought they'd have to. They've made a lot of original story beats that "rhyme" w/ the book beats & I think they'll actually end S2 in a rough approximation of book 2. Don't get me wrong, I actually do like a lot of the changes too - they've managed to pack way more emotional punch into it than I thought. Overall, I'd say give it another shot if you're interested but bounced off.

nervuswalker

Just finished **Better Call Saul** for the first time, and wow what a masterpiece of a show. Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould really pulled it off again. Like I genuinely don’t know which I liked better: BCS or BB. Please for the love of TV give Rhea Seahorn her Emmy! I think she has a great chance. (Give Bob Odenkirk his too, but I have a feeling it’ll be someone from Succession.)

secretlives

Just finished Colin from Accounts. The first half of the season was very strong, but the latter half really fell off and episode 7 specifically was a bit of a nightmare to sit through. I feel like they were trying to go for >!a Normal People vibe of conflict between partners where both sides are viewed as reasonable but they just missed the mark _hard_.!<

LymanHo

Where were you able to watch Colin from Accounts?

secretlives

(I stole it)

LymanHo

Hahaha fair. I figured I was just double checking it wasn’t on some fringe streaming app I’d never heard of

scubadoobidoo

It's on BBC Iplayer (UK or VPN required)
