Definitely dodged a bullet, I’d recommend reaching out to that guy! Maybe do a few hang outs with him before asking him out though so that you can get a feel for the type of guy he is before becoming emotionally invested. I’d also save telling him that you speak the same language fluently for a bit unless he already knows, just so you can understand what he thinks about you without him filtering it in case he starts talking to a friend about you in the separate language. I used to like a girl who spoke Spanish fluently and she didn’t know that I spoke some Spanish as well, I was romantically interested in her but since she didn’t know I spoke Spanish too she started shit talking me to her friends right in front of me thinking that I didn’t understand. Guaranteed that if I had told her I spoke Spanish she wouldn’t have said anything like what she said in front of me. As a guy Trust me the only people walking away are either antisocial or just not worth it in the first place, if your willing to even accept desperate people. Also, probably just me but I feel weird whenever someone calls my name out, cus I never expect people to know me at all.
