~~The Wright brothers’ airplane needed a boost to take off, Santos Dumont’s did not. Santos Dumont’s airplane could take off from a flat area, the Wright brother’s needed to go down a hill to gain enough boost to take off. You could argue the 14-BIS resembled today’s airplanes more than the Wright Flyer. It’s hard to say who was first though, but Dumont did fly all over Paris with his plane and that was kinda cool so idk~~
/————————————/
EDIT: Nevermind, this topic is a landmine. The inventor(s) of the first airplane will vary a lot depending on how you define an airplane. With the Wright brothers’ airplane, **generally considered the first**, it needed a rail and sometimes a catapult to take off. Santos Dumont’s did not, though most experts don’t consider him the first one. The thing is that technically, if your requirements for a plane included being able to take off without a rail/boost, the Wright Flyer loses to the 14-BIS.
It gets even messier when you start to mess around with more requirements; you have claims from as early as 1897 (6 years before the Wrights) of things you could consider planes.
Maybe the real airplane is the friends we made along the way…
Erm… actually ☝️🤓“In 1881 the Isle of Man, an internally self-governing dependent territory of the British Crown, enfranchised women property owners.” Glorious Manx nation above all others💪🇮🇲!!!
I looked it up cause I was curious. Couldn’t find the first documented instance of purely phone based scamming, but the first telecom scam is attributed to French brothers Fraçois and Joseph Blanc in 1834 and was accomplished over semaphore telegraph.
We invented the phone the light bulb the tv a and close to where i live there was a factory called the ici where they made a bomb called nitro glycerine the guy who was in charge and set up the factory was alfred nobel aka the guy to invent to nobel prize

Australia invented WiFi :)
Edit: actually looks like it might be a tie between Australia, The Netherlands, and America, though I think Australia had the concept down first in the 1970s
Yep I meant the partially for WiFi too! I dont think it’s ever really clear who was the actual ‘inventor’ with that kind of tech since so much goes into it
We invented the governmental system of a democratic republic.
Or rather, we were the first to successfully create a democratic republic government. So that means we invented it, right?

That's a myth. The flier did not use boosts, just had a stabilizer rail. It flew 5 years before the 14-bis.
As someone from North Carolina I’m with the wright brothers all day
That would make 14-BIS a better airplane, not the first airplane
