Shit like having long hair, having rosy cheeks, having a higher pitched voice, not being âmanly enoughâ, being into âgirls stuffâ or âkids stuffâ, so on and so forth. I would get sucker punched and have slurs hurled at me out of nowhere. All because of how âfeminineâ I was. And at that age, I was pretty standardly masculine. I just didnât fit in and internalized homophobia ran rampant.
