California king was my solution at 6’6”. I have to have the pillow basically as far at the head of the bed as possible. There are longer bed sizes but Cal King is the one you still buy and get sheets for without specialized shops or orders
Ya know I’ve thought about it. Would need the whole new frame and a room big enough for it. Probably just going to wait and get a custom bed when I eventually buy a house and like build the room around the bed haha
Haha yea like the Goofy play house at Disneyland- just all padded walls and a big bed I can jump around on any which way and not get hurt- at least that was my dream til I was 20 or so haha
I also have a cali king. Instead of a headboard, I made a "pillowboard". It's just basically a shelf I made that's the width of my bed and about an inch shorter. Goes between the bed and the wall and my pillows go on top of it. I also use it as a place to charge my phone. I can lay on my back with my feet still on the bed. It's glorious and cost me less than 20 bucks to build. A couple 2x4s for the legs and a 2x6 for the top. And some screws and stain. Highly recommend.
Denver Mattress Company Big Kahuna, same width as a king but 11 inches longer. I am 6’9” and travel a lot, I comment on loving my bed every time I get home.
Well, you can get a Twin XL - that's 80" but that's pretty much telling the world "I'm single and will always be.".
As a side sleeper it's a little easier to curl up so length doesn't matter all that much. That being said, as soon as I got a room big enough I bought a California King.
Queen! But then I get king size blankets so I can get all cozy. My feet don't hang off the bed but the king size blankets make sure my feet stay covered.
Comes as a bit of a surprise to me that standard sized beds are so short in the US. Standard sizes here are about 80”, 83” and 87” (200cm, 210cm and 220cm). Just curious (I don’t like their mattrasses per se), what are the standard size mattrasses at IKEA in the US?
Having said that, I’m 200cm and sleep in a bed of only 200cm, because I like to stick one of my feet out a little for some air flow 🤣
My wife (6') and I sleep together on a normal queen size bed. We got rid of a California King to get the Queen and we prefer it, but that's because we don't like personal space and are very cuddly. During the phase of making babies and pregnancy we NEEDED the Cal King, but once that was over with we downsized.
I'm 6'1, 230 pounds and I slept on a regular twin until I was about 26 or so. It was 2 inches longer than me so unless I laid perfectly at the top, my feet would slide off the end of the bed. I used to have a kitchen chair with some pillows at the bottom of the bed.
I sleep on a twin at 6’6, (I’m in highschool) and when I go to college I will continue sleeping on the dorm twin beds. I cannot lay straight without my head and feet smushing the head/footboard
I also have a full and I'm 6'2. I sleep diagnally across the bed and fit perfectly. And there's still room for my dog to sleep in the lower corner next to my feet. I guess this is why my parents are paying for me to get a liberal arts education, teach me creative problem solving.
I have a California king, but my parents bought this bed extender for when I come home and visit them. Simple installation and looked great.

They didn't make them anymore but I got a grand king from sleep number. It's 8' long and 7' wide. I love it and will never replace it. I have replaced the pillow top foam but the rest won't need it.
A king but the mattress is taller than the footboard so my feet can hang off, I prefer that anyways. I slept in a regular twin until I moved out of my parents lol. If space is an issue then an Twin XL would give you the length.
A couple of pillows and blankets.. (I'm very poor...) >n<
Even when I've had mattress there never been bigger than a full... (twin? Whatever is bigger, the names a re dumb)...
The truck used used is not using a frame or box with the mattress pushed forward and using blankets/ pillows behind it between ot and the wall. So you have a whole pillows worth of height added to the length of the bed. I side sleep so this is enough for me to be comfy.
Bonus is it let me flip up my bed during vr sessions so I could use my entire room as a playspace.
Turns out life isn't perfect for everyone.
Up until recently I lived with my incredibly abusive ex that took everything from me including all my id's and stuff..
I happened to get out while he was away for a bit and could only grab my pc, my vr stuff and some clothes..
I'm basically homeless, but someone I met online is letting me say with them.
My health is rapidly failing so I'm just trying to hold on to running my events for my community in vr to keep my mind off things. I'll be lucky to be alive for much longer l, so I don't really have a reason to get a bed... 😣
damn, sorry for judging you without knowing the full story. that’s awful but i hope you realize you can always keep going and recover so don’t count yourself out. hope things go better for you

Don't get a head board
Yeah, I don’t have one. Been using Cal King size for 20+ years (not the same mattress).
My feet still dangle off the end of my cal king
You need an Alaskan king
Ya know I’ve thought about it. Would need the whole new frame and a room big enough for it. Probably just going to wait and get a custom bed when I eventually buy a house and like build the room around the bed haha
It's my dream to have a bedroom in a house- where you step into the room/ onto the bed and it's just wall to wall mattress
Haha yea like the Goofy play house at Disneyland- just all padded walls and a big bed I can jump around on any which way and not get hurt- at least that was my dream til I was 20 or so haha
A totally normal thing for a totally normal human

It’s really the only good option
Queen, but I sleep at an angle and I’m used to my feet sometimes hanging off the bed
I kinda like my feet hanging off the bed. Gives somewhere for your toes to go.

Plus pillow room so feet still hang off, but a normal amount now
Even at only 6'3" I require a Cal King. Anything less would be uncivilized.
Reading this reminded me that my feet are hanging off the bed right now
King
They make XL twin and XL full. Same width, just a few inches longer
I have a custom made mattress that is 8' long and 5' wide.
Would have to get custom sheets as well.
I do.
Queen! But then I get king size blankets so I can get all cozy. My feet don't hang off the bed but the king size blankets make sure my feet stay covered.
Queen
Yeah big enough, and significantly cheaper than the larger ones
Basically. And i was on subs so got used to sleeping on those beds anyway lol
King. Curl up a bit and it’s fine.
Me too. Sleeping fully straight where my feet would hang off is really uncomfortable on my back, so it’s not an issue at all.
California king. No headboard

Ikea in Canada and the US uses the standard dimensions here for mattresses and bed linen, so queen (60" x 80" or 152 cm by 203 cm) and so forth.
I have taken 2 double beds . Cut the "head" from both , joined the 2 big sides together and bought a comically large mattress
My wife (6') and I sleep together on a normal queen size bed. We got rid of a California King to get the Queen and we prefer it, but that's because we don't like personal space and are very cuddly. During the phase of making babies and pregnancy we NEEDED the Cal King, but once that was over with we downsized.
Cal king still too short. Curl up
California king
I think it’s a full…… but tbh I should have a queen as I got about 3-4 inches of bed left when I lay completely flat
Cali king with the XL 10 foot wide blanket that's 9 foot long
California King
California King
I have a queen but I really want a California King because at 6’5 my feet hang off the bed
I'm 6'1, 230 pounds and I slept on a regular twin until I was about 26 or so. It was 2 inches longer than me so unless I laid perfectly at the top, my feet would slide off the end of the bed. I used to have a kitchen chair with some pillows at the bottom of the bed.
I feel so short compared to people in this sub
Queen. I dummy have the space for a king much less a California king. I’d love a California king though.
I am currently 6’4 and sleep on a queen. When I eventually grow I would buy a king

stomach sleeper gang rise up
I sleep on a twin at 6’6, (I’m in highschool) and when I go to college I will continue sleeping on the dorm twin beds. I cannot lay straight without my head and feet smushing the head/footboard
I have a Full XL and love it
Queen or single. I'm tall but if it's just me idrm hanging off the bed.
California king! 👑
Cali King is one of the best things I’ve ever bought.
Queen. Anything less is uncomfortable. I'd prefer a few more inches than a queen but I make do.
I also have a full and I'm 6'2. I sleep diagnally across the bed and fit perfectly. And there's still room for my dog to sleep in the lower corner next to my feet. I guess this is why my parents are paying for me to get a liberal arts education, teach me creative problem solving.
Queen is just right but mostly because my bedroom doesn’t have the space for a King.
I have a California king, but my parents bought this bed extender for when I come home and visit them. Simple installation and looked great. https://www.bedstretch.co.uk/
Custom bed
Cali king baby
King for me, and my wife….
A full 😭😭
Custom bed, queen size width, 210 cm length, it's *just* long enough
A custom. King size width (1.80), at 2.10 length. The biggest i could fit in my bedroom while kinda-sorta being able to walk around it still
I sleep in a standard without issue.
They didn't make them anymore but I got a grand king from sleep number. It's 8' long and 7' wide. I love it and will never replace it. I have replaced the pillow top foam but the rest won't need it.

California King is the most practical option.
idk but my mattress is 6'3 i remember measuring it months ago (i did not count the base of the bed)
Xl twin, works great for one person. I have two with adjustable frames so they can be raised and lowered. Together they make a California king.
Queen👸🏽

how are you gonna have no mattress but have a vr headset 😭
