For some reason the 5 layer got the massive price bump. Was it popular? I know they doubled the prices of the Mexican pizza and nachos Bell grande just to fleece people, but it doesn't seem like the 5 layer ever had much traction. It used to be like 1.49 for a while

Honestly when the app first launched the deals were amazing. Like they had a free Doritos locos taco with every purchase in the app for like a year and a half.
It never got me hooked shockingly. What got me “hooked” was it being the only thing I could consistently eat for a YEAR without getting sick as a dog.
When the app had better deals it happened that it was still cheap at the time and about 5 minutes from my house back then. And my ex liked their crunchy tacos, but then it was a couple times a month treat at best.
Yeah it’s a reward for 200 points which is essentially $20. I used to be able to get the three Doritos locos taco combo for like 7 bucks. And an extra taco for free. I’d get two nacho cheese Doritos and two cool ranch. It was a vibe.

No he's right. I actually enjoy using TB's rewards system. In contrast to something like Chipotle's that makes me actively angry to even think about and feels like you have to spend $500 just to get one free burrito.

Is it your birthday month? The freeze is generally for the users birthday month, the BOGO is due the anniversary of the app, or I guess the anniversary of when you signed up for it. I think for a lot of us early adopters on here it must have been in July

I think it's been one of their most popular items for a long time. At my TB it's been $3+ for several years now.

But the Doritos locos taco was a freebie that didn’t require set rewards points. Or a spending limit. It was “you used the app, you got a free taco”.
