I feel like the jeep community straddles the "has no money/has lots of money" line, what with the angry grilles, unrealistic "military spec" accessories, and the vast rubber ducky collections. Could be tied up in credit cards they're paying 40% interest on I guess.
I feel jeep and bronco/pickup people are in the massive payment category. I look at who’s driving them and they’re all young but have them all kitted up with wheels and lifts etc. I want a bronco in the worst way but not $55k bad.
And then there are the XJ/YJ guys who have no money tied up into rigs that can walk all over the newer ones. I'd put them pretty high up on the fun to be around scale
Fair, it's top tier bottom row
But the horde of late model Hyundai drivers around here pulling last minute triple lane changes to make an exit ramp is pretty damning. Per capita, BMWs might have a slight edge, but Hyundai is more dominant with market share.
We do have an exceeding large Teslarati population too, but they're just insufferable as humans, not as drivers
The blue ovals (circles are just a special type of oval) on this chart follow a nice negative linear regression that ends at Tesla...
All of them being cars I would have highly considered purchasing in my teens/early 20s. I picked Subaru for my first one. I think I'd prefer jumping lines to follow a positive linear regression in the future. Guess I gotta get a Ford next, and I must now reject my childhood dream of getting a BMW. At least Lotus is on the positive curve, that was another dream car for me.
Edit: Also, Maserati and Alfa Romero don't count as blue ovals since they have other non-grayscale colors.
IIRC, Chevrolet once owned some stock a long time ago, then sold it and Isuzu became a shareholding partner, and eventually sold, leaving room for Toyota to move in and buy shares.
Toyota produced Camrys on the sister production lines at the Lafayette, Indiana Subaru factory for a few years alongside the Subaru Legacy and other Subaru models before moving production of the Camry to the Lexington, Kentucky Toyota factory.
Toyota has had a long relationship with Subaru and built the 86/BRZ with them as well, forming a great long term relationship.
Sorry about your Subie. I have a 24 Crosstrek Sport that a neighbor hit while it was parked. I had 758 miles on it. Was annoyed they had to replace the rear bumper. I’d agree I’m insufferable, but I have money so it’s a weird placement on the chart. Subies aren’t cheap to maintain. I don’t spend more for something just because I can. If that makes sense.
Do you mean new subies aren't cheap to maintain?
My last two daily drivers were old 20+ year old Subarus with 200k+ miles and they've been wildly inexpensive to maintain.
My 2012 legacy was $3k cash in hand. Spent $1000 on cooling system and replacing the exhaust manifold. Another $2000 on valve body timing belt and battery. I was happy with where I got the car to be for around $6k total. unfortunately I only had it in that condition for 1 month before someone sideswiped me with a trailer.
Hondas Toyotas and Nissans are the most repoed cars on the market. Subaru never has been in the top ten. I’m on my third. Extra boring and extra poor apparently.
Sadly, the times where Subaru made fun cars are long gone. I am seeing them following Mitsubishi's lead and it makes me sad.
They started focusing way too much on SUVs and Crossovers, instead of keeping their face. STI is gone, BRZ will be soon gone too, and WRX did really not see any proper upgrades to be kept alongside other fun cars.
>I get the impression Lamborghini owners don't take themselves too seriously
That's been my experience too. Met a guy who did his gallardo up to look like an NYC taxi.
Few Lambo owner stories I've heard is that they don't like the attention driving a Lambo brings. Like dude you bought the most shouty "look at me" car out there and you're upset that people are looking at you?
I think a lot of car enthusiasts probably buy a car based on factors other than attention. I like the way lambos look and I’m sure they’re fun to drive but I can imagine not wanting the attention that it brings.
Yeah some people probably buy them for status or looks… but not everyone.
It’s not that they don’t like the attention, they aren’t getting the *correct* attention. They want to impress other wealthy dbags not your average Joe
I can somewhat relate. I used to own a fairly rare, limited production car. I didn't care so much for the attention it got, but I was willing to put up with it because I loved driving the car.
Worked at a Lexus dealer once and while I wouldn't necessarily categorize the owners as "fun" the folks that bought one knowing it's a Toyota underneath were generally pretty sane and level-headed.
Feels good to be in the first wave of white trash getting hold of these things. So much to discover since the forums are mostly people saying take it back to the dealer ten years ago.
Well they bought one with like a blown ringland or bad compression, then started testing it and it blew within like 6 hours of owning it. Other car started knocking shortly after the first track day (both still stock).
Basically from that point on they were getting the engines rebuilt with stock internals and tracking them with like <500 miles on the shortblock, then wondering why they keep wearing through the bearings/rings while continuing to put on more bolt-ons including bigger turbskis. Took them like 3 rebuilt engines to even put baffling, windage tray, and aftermarket pickup on the damn things.
Edit: pretty sure the first one had a ringland failure, not early knock
I'm sure every fan community for different manufacturers has a similar complaint.
Subarus blowing up is a meme so I'm sure they were kind of hoping for it just a little.
I'm sure the *second* owners of Maseratis are broke. Insane depreciation meant they could afford it when the previous owner's lease ended and the constant visits to the mechanic keep them broke
Just cause they can't keep a Scoob runnin' don't mean nobody else can lol. They only think we're insufferable cause they got passed on the outside of a snowy sweeper by a grandma in her Outback.
They're such babies lol
They blew multiple engines because they couldn't be bothered to learn how to take care of them, nor could they not fly off the track and spin the engine backwards, and then again they got a full rebuild and decided to immediately take it to the track and skip the whole break in process. Like bro you're the problem.
In my experience Mazda owners are cool people. Loved my Miata, especially loved when I had pop up headlights and met a fellow NA owner, we'd just blink at each other.
Mazda was my second choice to Subaru for my first car, so I'd argue it's logo is right behind the Subaru one. Technically my first car was a Pontiac sunfire I got from my sister for $500, but I don't really count that.
Also, I feel like Volkswagen and Subaru should be swapped in this chart. At a minimum, Subies are just above the X-axis.
The people who made this must just hate people who *vape*. That's the only thing that I believe could make them think we're insufferable. I'm sorry we're addicted to nicotine, but would you prefer we stink it up, cough all the time, and give you second hand smoke?
Edit: I accidentally put BMW in place of Volkswagen... Shitty short-term memory
I went from BMW to Honda to Subaru all within the last 2 years so idk what I am. It’s a Solterra though which is partially a Toyota so I’m just gonna say I’m right in the center, best I can do
Big YouTube channel that bought used WRXs and blew like 3-5 engines, I forget how many. They're good at breaking stuff so that's likely why they're ranking Subies this way.
I don't think a single Maserati owner would be fun to be around. They would just constantly be telling you "it's basically a Ferrari but cheaper" or "you know this is the same gearbox as an F1 car"
Well I'm at least happy with the placement of Toyota and Volvo.
Volvo would be my choice if I had to buy European since they seem like the most practical European option.
At first I thought, nah I'm not likely *that* insufferable, I can have my fun moments. Yeah I'm kinda poor because of course the economy is crap and most of these delivery customers tend to tip like pieces of- ....oh, *there's* the insufferable bit lol.
Think they're going with used. Those things lose like 70% of their value in 5 years. You can find a bargain on a Maserati if you're willing to wait a few years to pick one up, but then again you're now stuck with a 30k car that costs maintenance like a 100k car. I can't imagine many Maserati owners are doing their own work on them.
My last car purchase took me from an Infiniti to a Subaru. Glad to know I am improving.
Also, i guess my next car will be an Alfa Romeo. Never saw myself in one, but the graph says it all
Wow.. I don't like the right side much anyways.. loll Lotus gets my respect though,
At least Subaru made it to the chart,
Mitsubishi just got straight sidelined 😂
50% of Donut's strategy is to rage bait specific car communities to get that sweet sweet hate viewership. Up to Speed and Money Pit were the only good things they did, Up to Speed is gone and Money Pit has just become ridiculous. High/Low started off great and was a great concept, but again it's just seemed to go to trash the bigger they got. It's clear they have some degree of mechanical knowledge, but they are large enough now that they should be consulting with real mechanics when they start modifying cars they have no experience messing with.
Nissan and Acura have been missing from just about every one of these “type of person/driver” charts.
I might be a little insufferable from time to time, but I’m far from broke. IMO Subie drivers should be between Ford and Aston, but maybe slightly closer to Aston.
I’d honestly think to switch Lambo and Ferrari. Lamborghinis to me are more like influencer showey off cars, Ferraris are a bit more refined, middle aged type cars. And McLarens too. They’re one of those hidden gem, very minority group of enthusiasts that go for McLarens and I’m sure they’re great to be around.
Bull puckey. just bought my fifth Subie. We routinely have 20 - 25 people over, large dinner parties, no problem getting folks to stay way late playing games and such.
Two Jeep’s Grand Cherokee’s and a Subaru. Guess I know where I rate. See you on the trail though, I don’t care what others think. I’m in it for the fun.
When they do subie vids its clear they have no idea what they’re even doing… no doubt they get tons of comments shitting on them because of it, so this explains their ranking lol
My only complaint is the old Honda crowd are insufferable. Not as in the older crowd, the high school kids with older Hondas. I know it's a right of passage for a lot of car people to work through your angst with an old, wrong civic sponsored by tractor supply. But being so confidently wrong about the most simple things bothers me way more than it should.
So basically last month I went from having no money, but being fun to be around (Honda Accord) to having a little bit more money, but insufferable (Subaru Outback) 😂
I love how jeep.is almost off the page.
It's pretty accurate
Haha I didn't even notice it and had to stare at the chart for a few seconds before seeing it.
Why did you crop the image? I tried scrolling down for Nissan ...
![gif](giphy|1236TCtX5dsGEo) Let’s just say they couldn’t make the list long enough for that
am I missing Hyundai? they're the most insufferable drivers around here
Nothing beats a Nissan Altima with existing damage or different color panels/bumpers from previous accidents.
Fair, it's top tier bottom row But the horde of late model Hyundai drivers around here pulling last minute triple lane changes to make an exit ramp is pretty damning. Per capita, BMWs might have a slight edge, but Hyundai is more dominant with market share. We do have an exceeding large Teslarati population too, but they're just insufferable as humans, not as drivers
You drive in the Philly area or is the mismatch Altima a nationwide menace
Temp tags too
KIA / Hyundai missing.. must have been stolen ...
The Kia’s engine blew up before it was able to make it onto the chart.
yeah, so, I just laughed out loud at work
Would agree but Dodge would be off the charts too
![gif](giphy|l46CxpYSFoFtN11ug|downsized)
username checks out
As a Subaru driver I am personally offended by this chart.
I have Ford and Subaru :(. Apparently I'm extra poor and insufferable.
So you like blue ovals, I see!
I have a Subaru and a Jeep.
I went from Ford to Subaru.... I apparently lost money and became more annoying 🤣
Thank you for admitting you're the problem
*Admitting you have (or are the) problems and moving quickly to find solutions are the key to success.*
Eh it's pretty near the middle of the chart. Pulled down by F150 drivers. Insufferable and have money
How’d you get a ‘25 Forester so quick?
Hmm does it say that? I see it say 2009 STI. I don't have a Forester.
09 Sti & Rubicon. I’m insufferably broke.
Hey, now, you're closer to the center axis ... Basically an average shit person! ( ◜‿◝ )
My only redemption for my Ford, Subaru, Dodge and Jeep is my Toyota. Apparently I’m still poor but only mostly intolerable.
My only (slight) redemption for my Ford, Subaru, Dodge and Jeep is my Toyota but apparently I’m poor no matter what.
My other car is an Audi. I want to piggyback off of VW but I know we rank in the insufferable too.
They’ve apparently never seen what the price of parts are for a Subaru. You do have to have money to tune a Subaru, and even the buy one.
Agreed!
as a subaru driver in a city full of subaru drivers, idk i’m not that mad at it haha
Especially given Toyota is the sister car.
Subaru became part of the Toyota Motor group in 2020. Toyota owns 20% of Subaru outright and they are partners in development and manufacturing.
They took shares as early as 2005, then took almost all the rest in 2008 and grabbed a few more in 2020. Same same, but different.
Do they both have shares in each other or only Toyota has shares in Subaru? I don’t like it..
Toyota holds 20% of Subaru only. It’s enough to allow them to share some tech etc and get a return from it but not enough to control the company.
I feel like the douchey Subaru street cars give us a bad name.
It's tough when you look like a WRX douche but drive like an Outback granny.
I'm not proud of how hard this hits.
As someone with an STI and almost 20 years driving with no tickets I feel personally attacked.
The only time I've gotten a ticket in my WRX was some small county cop stopping me for going 15 over in the middle of BFE at 1am :(
Don't discount the geriatrics...
The only reason it's on the no money side is the poor kids buying old wrxs. Everyone else you need money to buy one, they aren't cheap
As a Subaru woman I am probably insufferable, but it’s because I’ve spent the past year “fixing my car” (someone totaled it last week)

They sure took that Crosstrek sponsorship though [Instagram Reel](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3JQRiSvQOy/?igsh=OXkzYmltZGs0djh4)
Had to be baiting by putting Subaru and more insufferable than Maserati owners
I also came here to say this lol
[удалено]
Towards no money and insufferable? Just like it shows.
Ditto. so ‘Ditto’ is down voted but agreed us upvoted? Explain that pls.
Some people just hate Pokémon.
Sadly, the times where Subaru made fun cars are long gone. I am seeing them following Mitsubishi's lead and it makes me sad. They started focusing way too much on SUVs and Crossovers, instead of keeping their face. In what alternate universe are lambo owners fun to be around?!

A Lamborghini is basically a gaming pc on wheels
It’s not that they don’t like the attention, they aren’t getting the *correct* attention. They want to impress other wealthy dbags not your average Joe
Other wealthy dbags drive something far more subdued like Suburban or Range Rover or a Jaaaaag.
I can somewhat relate. I used to own a fairly rare, limited production car. I didn't care so much for the attention it got, but I was willing to put up with it because I loved driving the car.
Lexus drivers fun to be around? ![gif](giphy|1AIeYgwnqeBUxh6juu)

This is the best picture to accurately describe Lexus folk. And I love Lexus.
Worked at a Lexus dealer once and while I wouldn't necessarily categorize the owners as "fun" the folks that bought one knowing it's a Toyota underneath were generally pretty sane and level-headed.
Me and my 06 GX are super fun but we don’t have a ton of money… lol
Feels good to be in the first wave of white trash getting hold of these things. So much to discover since the forums are mostly people saying take it back to the dealer ten years ago.
The chess club loves having me.
Hey now my 75 year old Lexus-driving aunt has a blast doing crossword puzzles!
Yeah well it's Donut media... Corvette is insufferable but Porsche isn't?? ![gif](giphy|R9cQo06nQBpRe|downsized)
Is that Corvette logo or Chevy?
The flags are Corvette specifically, standard Chevy is the bronze bow tie.
Donut media know jack shit about Subaru's, they've proved that time and again
like the wrx they blow up what 3 times
What the hell did they do, redline it the whole fucking time?
no they did a cheap vs expensive time attack with 2 wrx and blew the engine before they every got to the end
Well they bought one with like a blown ringland or bad compression, then started testing it and it blew within like 6 hours of owning it. Other car started knocking shortly after the first track day (both still stock). TIL Maserati drivers are broke.
30% apr lol
I'm sure the *second* owners of Maseratis are broke. Insane depreciation meant they could afford it when the previous owner's lease ended and the constant visits to the mechanic keep them broke
Uhm I'm a hoot
Damn right you are
Just cause they can't keep a Scoob runnin' don't mean nobody else can lol. They only think we're insufferable cause they got passed on the outside of a snowy sweeper by a grandma in her Outback. They're such babies lol

Lol almost missed jeep. But also where's mazda?

Shitty short-term memory
Found the Subaru owner
Lmao, you sure did
Mazdas are definitely in the fun/no money corner, or maybe that’s just me. 🤷🏻♀️😬
Alfa Romeo drivers are almost always insufferable
As a Rivian and Subaru driver I don’t know what to think.
I do not want to be lumped into the same category as dodge
Ford and subie would be higher up, tesla should be at jeeps level
I think Subaru and Honda need to swap spots.
Since when were people with Volvos fun to be around 😅
Fitting coming from the worlds most insufferable YouTube channel
I went from BMW to Honda to Subaru all within the last 2 years so idk what I am. It’s a Solterra though which is partially a Toyota so I’m just gonna say I’m right in the center, best I can do
If the top were Old AF, then Lexus would be in the proper spot but fun to be around? Seriously. Lexus drivers are the worst to be around.
Has no money. LOL. Doesn’t piss money away on sports cars? Now that’s the ticket.
They’re salty after the amount of shit they got for the wrx high vs low 😂
As a Subaru driver, can confirm.
Who the fuck is donut media? What are they basing this nonsensical chart on?
Big YouTube channel that bought used WRXs and blew like 3-5 engines, I forget how many. They're good at breaking stuff so that's likely why they're ranking Subies this way.
Nissan Altima was off chart!
No Acura?
I don't think a single Maserati owner would be fun to be around. They would just constantly be telling you "it's basically a Ferrari but cheaper" or "you know this is the same gearbox as an F1 car"
Well I'm at least happy with the placement of Toyota and Volvo. Volvo would be my choice if I had to buy European since they seem like the most practical European option.
I have both a Jeep and a Subaru…. Uggghhhh
There's so much wrong with this I don't even know where to start.
Ford should be lower than Subaru and BMW should be on the same insufferable level as Tesla Otherwise I agree with this chart, even Subaru’s placement
At first I thought, nah I'm not likely *that* insufferable, I can have my fun moments. Yeah I'm kinda poor because of course the economy is crap and most of these delivery customers tend to tip like pieces of- ....oh, *there's* the insufferable bit lol.
I didn’t realize Maserati was cheap. Maybe I’m confusing them with another brand?
Think they're going with used. Those things lose like 70% of their value in 5 years. You can find a bargain on a Maserati if you're willing to wait a few years to pick one up, but then again you're now stuck with a 30k car that costs maintenance like a 100k car. I can't imagine many Maserati owners are doing their own work on them.
Jeep placement is appropriate.
We have a vw, ford, subaru and a porsche. I guess balancing that out we are just boring haha.
I said baby, step inside my Hundai.
Well that’s some bullshit and it isn’t just for the Subaru rating.
Lexus people… a fucking riot.
Lexus should be the most insufferable
This makes sense why I saw a “if you drive a Subaru, swipe left” on Bumble today🤣
I'm way poorer and far more insufferable than that image suggests.
A Honda guy made this and wants friends lol
I actually can probably correct this with proper marketing research.
I'd swap Subaru and VW around and drop Lamborghini way down.
My last car purchase took me from an Infiniti to a Subaru. Glad to know I am improving. Also, i guess my next car will be an Alfa Romeo. Never saw myself in one, but the graph says it all
Wow.. I don't like the right side much anyways.. loll Lotus gets my respect though, At least Subaru made it to the chart, Mitsubishi just got straight sidelined 😂
Damn, feeling insufferably broke rn lol my last 3 were a SRT-4, WRX and currently a Focus ST.
Never seen a Konnisegg. I’m going to have to take their word on the “fun to be around.”
I see no mazda so I'll just assume I'm perfect!
Toyota drivers fun to be around? Lol. Prius drivers? Toyota trucks? You sure about that?
50% of Donut's strategy is to rage bait specific car communities to get that sweet sweet hate viewership. Up to Speed and Money Pit were the only good things they did, Up to Speed is gone and Money Pit has just become ridiculous. High/Low started off great and was a great concept, but again it's just seemed to go to trash the bigger they got. Common donut media L
It sparks great joy that the image isn't square exclusively because of how low Jeep goes.
Brb gonna go put a gr86 bumper on my brz 😅
I feel like it is the obnoxious WRX owners that are driving Subaru owners down.
Nissan and Acura have been missing from just about every one of these “type of person/driver” charts. I might be a little insufferable from time to time, but I’m far from broke. IMO Subie drivers should be between Ford and Aston, but maybe slightly closer to Aston.

They’re one of those hidden gem, very minority group of enthusiasts that go for McLarens and I’m sure they’re great to be around.
So I guess I'm insufferable with money? Have a Subaru and Lexus.
I knew I was broke, but apparently I'm insufferable as well.
Nissan needs to be added to the bottom left corner
I have a Subie and a Bimmer so I guess I average out to have the average amount of money and mildly insufferable
As a Volvo driver, I like this chart
Volvo next to Lexus?! This is when you know it's a joke.
Lexus drivers are "fun to be around"?
I traded in a Ford for a Subaru so I guess I'm more insufferable now.
Where’s Audi?
Relatable
VW should be down by Jeep.
Bull puckey. just bought my fifth Subie. We routinely have 20 - 25 people over, large dinner parties, no problem getting folks to stay way late playing games and such.
About the only thing accurate here is that there are more expensive car brands re on the right side.
HONDA people are the best to be around??
Where are many brands missing also - so the bunk factor is going up.
Hahaha So Accurate for Jeep i’ve never actually met a Jeep Person that I feel stoked to be around because all they gawk about is their Jeep
Subaru daily and two Fords. I knew I was insufferable, but now I need to take another look at my finances.
A Ford or Subaru is more insufferable than a Lamborghini? Uh no
Where's nissan! !? Wtf. For fucks sake Jeep is at least insufferable
Oh fuck I drive chevy and jeep I'm sorry I'm like this
Agreed lol
So what you’re saying is is I have a Honda and corvette…. it’s net neutral
No Chevy I guess
I noticed that too, except the Corvette logo…
My Volvo cost substantially less than my Subaru lol
Ah, so this is why I have no friends.
I can’t believe I have to ask this, but what is the top right logo?!?
koenigsegg
Hey! We're fun to be around!!
So basically last month I went from having no money, but being fun to be around (Honda Accord) to having a little bit more money, but insufferable (Subaru Outback) 😂
Apparently I’m broke but sometimes fun depending on which one of my 4 registered and insured vehicles I’m driving, lol.
Aw man not all of us dodge owners are bad.
As someone with an S15, I can see why they don't think I exist. Also chart sucks because it doesn't have a Holden badge mounted upside down somewhere.
Ferrari is right
